Re: True or False?
Half-True: all my watches are nice and waterproof for swimming, and when I take them off they either get stolen or end up getting lost.
Genetics research on influenza would be much more interesting if it was epidemiology.

False. I'm not sure what epidemiology actually is, and I don't think I'd be interested in the research of the flu anyway.

Indeed, true, but that's always the case.

Re: True or False?
Also true, although mine is from the dehydrating effects of over-chlorination from my fucking workouts. Epidemiology is the study of how diseases spread, versus what I am doing now, which is a technical study on gene conservation. In viruses, it is RNA which take over cell functions to make more protein shells and RNA to continue replicating.
I actually find what I just said both comprehensible, and interesting at times.

((Chlorine eczema? Eek... Mine's acting up do to the heaters drying the air.))
True until you began using jargon. I have no idea what RNA is, but if I did, I probably could have understood what you were saying.
I still don't find the spreading of diseases interesting, but I do know that it's an important study for the future- unless we really want to continue with population control in a big way. =3

Re: True or False?
Well, brief genetics lesson if you want it. Central dogma for Cell Biology DNA->RNA->Protein. DNA is a type of molecule that possesses a nucleotide base (The A,T,C,G letter codons) a sugar base with a phosphate attached to its backbone. DNA encodes for RNA which is more or less the same structure, there is an extra oxygen on the sugar, and codes U instead of T for stability purposes. RNA is basically a signal to make proteins that more or less do everything else in the cell, from energy production, to respiration, to reproduction.
Every living thing has DNA (viruses are still classified as dead) that codes for a biological function. Not all the DNA encodes for RNA and proteins, and some that do don't change very much over time, and are called conserved regions. Geneticists use these regions to determine the phylogeny or familial relationship between organisms and viruses. The genetics research is a bunch of words like PAL-1 or Hind III, or ch2-11, that refer to a specific gene that encodes for something, and thus is much more cryptic to understand. At least with the epidemiology I escape much of this terminology to find out what actually happens.
The chlorine creates a different pH balance, and the amount of pure water in a pool creates an osmotic differential that causes water to flow out of your skin instead of staying in. The technical term is called dessication, and results in the cell shriveling, and exploding if the pressure becomes too much. The reverse, which is obtained by sitting in a bath for long enough, results in wrinkles, which are actually cells bulging out from holding more water than they are designed for. Either way, the chlorine in the pool dries out everyone's skin, and turns my almost black hair into blond highlights in about two months of exposure.
I enjoy this jargon too much for hating learning it about a while ago.

False. Jargon is only fun where the subject is fun. Biology and Chemistry is boring... (although biology is interesting on the larger scale).

Re: True or False?
Absolutely true. I love to read about anything I find interesting, though extremely partial to the sci-fi/fantasy section.
Anyone who wants to hear me blather on about science crap of the day can PM, ore we can make an OoC and I can go over the lesson of the day so to speak. I am supposed to do it for high school science teachers for community service, anyway, for those behind the times.
I am on my third novel of the evening.

False. No new books here for me, just old ones.
Le gasp. Challah is the most divine bread. THE MOST DIVINE BREAD. You haven't tasted bread until you've had challah.
I've read more manga than comics.

False. I have read very very few manga, sadly.

False. I'm a male, not of age to have a baby, nor affiliated with any girl, nor do I have a baby in the house.
I guess you could make challah, but its better to buy it methinks. Do the research about what you'd like better? Although maybe you should buy someone before you decide to make it, as you'd not like to spend time on something you wouldn't exactly enjoy.
I can remember only a few specific dreams, as much as I try to remember all the vivid ones.

Re: True or False?
True, I rarely dream, and all the ones I remember are vague and half remembered. Oh, an extremely bizarre. Also, by the challah bread from a bakery, it is indeed delicious, although my favorite is potato bread.

False. For being of latin descent, I dance like Elaine from Seinfeld. I can only get away with it when people are drunk, cuz then it doesn't matter.

False, but I have been contemplating making a set-up that revolves around my elf costumed self ever since I first acquired half of the items necessary to be an elf. I just can't think of anything good for it. I'm also not so good with making set-ups... =\

False. I had a turkey burger, but I can definitely appreciate a good salad for dinner, as long as you didn't use iceberg lettuce. Not only does it taste bad, but it also has no nutritional value. I prefer spinach salads myself.

False, I love eating meat, and prefer it to vegetables. I am a bit of barbarian in that fashion.
And on that topic, almost every cut of steak needs to be medium or medium rare for maximizing flavor. (This is not really an opinion either, but more of a consensus/ fact. Not kidding either, asks chefs.)
I love sleeping the most of out any necessary daily activity.

False-ish. I don't like them plain or fried, but if they're minced, they do make a good flavor addition to things.
