Heya empowermint!
Greetings, all! I'm James, from Edinburgh, UK, studying Music.
I have become interested in text-RPGs because members of my creative writing group seem to get a lot out of them. Now I want in on the action. I'm looking for games with a focus on storytelling and character development, with good writing as a given. I like what I have seen here so far!
My favourite authors are E.F. Benson, A.L. Kennedy, Evelyn Waugh, Graham Green, Terry Pratchett, Diana Wynne Jones... I love political intrigue, social shenanigans and characters that don’t mean what they say. In writing I value vivid setting and characterisation achieved with zero description – but then I ruin it all with excessive alliteration. I keep trying.

Welcome to Footsteps of Ghosts, empowermint!
I have to say, before I realized that your username was an intentional misspelling, I was not expecting you to be so well-written. I suppose that's what is meant by the saying, "You can't judge a book by its cover." Of course, I'm also assuming that your username was intentionally misspelled, because now that I've seen how you write, I can't imagine it was a mistake.
Anyway, the point of that is to say that you seem like a very educated and talented writer. As such, I'm delighted to welcome you to our humble forums, which attempt to serve as a haven for those who seek to practice authorship at a higher level than one might find elsewhere on the world wide web. I look forward to seeing your work.
Also, as I am now in the habit of doing, I'd like to point you to the FOG chat room. It's a great place to meet and get to know a lot of the more active members of our community, and it's also a good way to get advice or help quickly. To reach the chat room, simply click the Chat Room link in the navigation bar at the top of the forums. The room isn't always lively, but it certainly picks up often enough to be fun and exciting.
That said, I look forward to seeing you around on the forums, empowermint, and I hope you enjoy your stay!

Re: Heya empowermint!
Ha ha! Yes, it is in an intentional misspelling. It comes from my father's range of gimmicky business-speak slogan stationary: 'Ask forgiveness not permission' postits, 'quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten' calculators, 'use it don't spend it' wristwatches, 'measuring success by the customer's smile' rulers, and of course my favourite 'empower' mints.
You'll find me generally grammared-up, in a UK-spellings sort of way. :p

Welcome to FoG, empowermint.
The "empower" mints thing made me smile. I like that you used it for your user name.
It's good to see another person who seems to be quite eloquent and intelligent. I hope to see more of you around the forums.
Enjoy your stay.
