Space: The Final Frontier

I've got an idea about a group of Astronauts venturing from Earth on a deep space exploration voyage. This would take place somewhere in the not too distant future.

So far the gears in my head are steering me towards this. About three months into the voyage, I'm not sure what, but something happens and the explorers are thrusted into a strange galaxy. All the equipment on their ship is wiped out so they have no idea where they are, how long they've been unconscious since the accident, and their only chance of survival is to use the emergency pods to escape to a seemingly inhabited planet nearby.

When they arrive on this planet, the inhabitants look very similar to Earthlings except for a few slight differences.

I'm leaving the rest of the plot and details open for discussion with anyone that would be interested in this RP. So, who's up for some deep space exploration?
