Little red riding hood based apocalypse anyone?

Ok, I have this idea. I'm not sure if its really interesting or not, but I think it is, so why not give it a shot?

There is a war going on, a bad war. Another country is invading the country on where this story takes place. The enemy country is bombing the cities and raiding the streets with ground infantry. Their taking innocent lives in an attempt to bring panic, confusion, and insecurity. All this is causing terror in the cities. As the armies still raid, and the government continues to fail, the country is becoming very barbaric as the innocents fight for their lives.

The story will start with Red's mother telling her to go to Grandmothers house. Red's mother is a little frantic, but Red agrees to her mothers wish and heads off to her destination without much question. In reality, soldiers were coming down the streets massacring innocents. She let her daughter go knowing that if she stayed or hid in the city she would suffer a much worse fate.

Grandma's house is out in the far country side, where it is much safer than in the cities, though its quite a long walk. Along her journey she encounters a person which is a lycan of some sort. (I'll discuss that in a moment) The wolf is very interested in her, and he feels that shes someone he needs to approach. The wolf offers to accompany her on her journey, Red accepts, and they both set off towards the destination. Of course along the way they become more than acquaintances.

If your interested in joining you can be Red riding hood OR the Wolf, either one. If you want it more literate, the wolf can be a real wolf that is intelligent and more caring, or the wolf can just be a regular person that is great at fighting and knows a thing or two about the forest and cities en route.

I was thinking about making this semi futuristic, like the year is 2050 or 2100 of you fancy that. The country were in could be Russia and the enemy country could be America? Or visa versa. Lastly, I was thinking there could be a sort of twist that the wolf finds out that they can't go to Grandma's house but Red made and promise and will get there by any means necessary. (Even if that means sneaking away from the protective wolf to do so.)


It might be kinda crappy, but is anyone interested? Feel free to ask questions.

If you don't mind my addition of creativity to the main idea then I would be interested. It's been years since I have done a one on one RP (and that one was my first one meaning this RP would be my second one on one). I just got done watching Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny which deal with wars of annihilation (race wars) so I could really help you out fleshing out the backdrop of the realm. It sounds like you want the backdrop to be a lot like World War II in Europe and since I am a history major I know a few things about that as well. Here are some of the longer RPs I have done (my post is the 2nd from the bottom).

Now that my credentials are out of the way I was thinking that if you want to do this RP with me I would take the part of 'the wolf'. I could make his personality like that of a lone wolf and have him know up from down in a combat zone. Don't have any specific character ideas at the moment but I am good at writing the serious soldier.

Yes indeed, that is the world setting I was trying to create! It never occurred to me that it was like WWII, It just completely slipped my mind. You being a history major is excellent, history is my worst subject so you being knowledgeable about it is great.

I would love to have you in this RP, from your writing, you are indeed very good at the serious soldier type roles. (And you enjoy it!) Lone wolf would be a great personality, exactly what I had in mind. I haven't done a 1x1 in years either, though, I hope this will be a memorable second for us both. (Yup this is my second 1x1, too.)

Anyhow, your writing is great and I would love for you to take the role of the wolf. Though, do you like the time and place setting? We could actually make it take place around WWII time, and I jut picked Russia because its big and has wide open spaces. Additionally, (If you have a sort of idea yet) did you want your character to be a lycan/werewolf, or just a highly skilled fella? Your creative suggestion and preferences are always welcome.

I really haven't sat down and thought about creating a setting just was typing up what I thought you were after so I could get a clearer picture of the whole idea. It looks like I got the idea right As for the place and time frame I am good with either. I like Sci Fi and am a history major so I am covered on both future and past. I guess it would be up to you because if you are not so good at history you might want to go with the future idea. Or challenge yourself and make it a historical setting. Really I don't mind whichever way we go with place and time. I think we should figure out time first and then pick a place.

As for my character I as thinking along the lines of a skilled guy who may have served in a military or be currently serving in the military. (Don't know if you watch anime at all but was thinking something like the personalities of Heero Yuy and Sousuke Sagara. Both have difficulty in peaceful real life settings but in the middle of a war zone they are right at home. They also have problems with interactions outside of the militaristic style of life. For example talking to a civilian about a sports game or political debate. I don't think I am going to make him a werewolf just because I will be terrible at it. I have never read anything with werewolf's in it nor have I ever written a character that was one before.

What kind of ideas do you have for this so far?

Errrrm, Hrm. After thinking about it for a while, I suppose the time could take place in the future? I'm very tempted to do WWII, but It might be kinda cool to put a modern twist on everything. =3

Your character fits very well with the character personality I had. I was thinking of mine being childish, unaware, gentle, and 'bubbly' type of personality. So, hopefully all will work out grand.

As for ideas...nothing really, mainly just going through the forest and encountering obstacles like soldiers, bandits (of some sort), and natural elements. And as I said before maybe by some huge obstacle they can't go to their destination but red is determined to find another way.

For my background we should really pick the country that the fighting is taking place in and what country they are fighting. I am kind of planning on my guy being able to speak in both languages. Any preferences or ideas?

Hrm. Well, I don't have a preference really. We could be in...I'm not really sure. Somewhere that would have enough space, yet start off in maybe a successful capital of some sort. I'm leaning towards Russia to be the country this takes place in but I don't know who could be the enemy, it could be anyone really.

EDIT: Actually, maybe it should take place in America. We both know that a lot better, and we could put a lot more detail if we have been their and know what its like. Though, the enemy country is still up in the air.

Does it have to be country vs country? I am trying to think of some countries that would want to fight each other but I don't really know enough about current world politics to even guess at what might be happening years from now. Would it still work if it was more like a group of people rebelling for rights or something? Like the 60's here or the last 3 or 4 decades in northern Ireland?

Yeah that would work! But would these rebels or even the army be focused on regular citizens? Unless, my character's family is pro-rebels, or pro anti-rebels, and the other forces are taking action.

Ok here is what I have come up with for a setting.

The country it takes place in has been experimenting with genetic testing over the last few decades. The advances in the technology have made it so that genetic manipulation can take place before the child is born to make them immune from diseases but it didn't stop there. Soon people were specifying hair color and what the child would look like. This creates a new breed of humans and now that there are communities being created of these genetically enhanced humans whose only crime in the major populace's eyes was being born differently. This situation turned into a hot topic and the country is set to erupt into violence over the issue. Enter my character who is sent in by the military as a scout to figure out the situation on the ground and report back.

I know it's been done before but maybe it would work as a backdrop for our story? What do you think?

Heh heh, wow your totally helping with this Roleplay! I feel like I need to pull my weight a little more, your making all these great suggestions and I...Not so much.

I really like it! Yeah, its been done before, but you can't be original all the time! X3 I guess I should be one of the genetically manipulated so your character would have more of a reason to be involved with mine. But yeah, I'm sure this will be great! As for the country, I think America on the east coast would be neat because it would be kinda grungy and heavily populated.

Oh! Maybe like the GM people are becoming mutants and the others are trying to hide it. Because if the regulars found out then it would cause unlawful killing of the GM's before the possible zombie type creatures start coming around.

On the location I was thinking maybe make it somewhat ironic? I was thinking Midwest because that has traditionally been the moral ground of the USA. Plus there are a lot more diverse areas in those states being developed and still having a lot of farmland everywhere. Just a suggestion. Anyway why don't you type of a synopsis for the other topic and slap it in. Now that I know what I am doing I can easily come up with a character now. Oh and the Genetically manipulated people how far do you want them to be manipulated? Like the most basic would be to enhance thought process, physical strength or resistances to diseases. Or is it more than one part of those three? Maybe the more successful ones have all three? Or were you thinking something else?

Midwest would be perfect! All the farmland and open spaces would be great, and who doesn't love irony...

I was thinking the genetically mutated would vary in general. People could be mutated appearance wise, or they would appear normal but have great strength and/or endurance, etc. But I don't think I would really like transformation back and forth between two states of being. (Like turning into bat creatures at will for example) And I don't think super powers like flying. Mainly just heighten senses and abilities, nothing new created. Though yeah, the forchante (SP) ones could have multiple abilities.
