I admit, this title sounds a little cheesy, but trust me - I already have a good title worked out if this story actually gets anywhere. Here's the basis of my idea:

At some point in time, an entire solar system is destroyed when the great star it is centered around goes supernova and collapses within itself, turning into a black hole. An advanced species from another solar system had already predicted the destruction of that star and collected groups of numerous alien races and subsequently placed them on a new planet far away. The orphaned races then began to start their lives all over again with no recollection of what happened to their homeworlds.

Now I've planned for the story to take place about a thousand years after the lower races have been placed on their new planet, which was only enough time to establish small cities and other tribes and villages within their own cultures, though a few species will be more advanced in technology. This all seems relatively harmless except for the fact that the races have a difficult time getting along with each other, resulting in a world-wide segregation between races.

However, that will not be the major conflict. The advanced alien race, by then, has set up a large colony on that planet where they have been examining the other races from a safe distance - collecting information. After a while, they grow to find the other races as useless and primitive, and begin to regret relocating them to such fertile lands. Envious, they then create a race of their own and release it into the world as ultra-predators that will hunt down and eat any organism they can for survival. This was so they could label the extinction of the other races on the planet as simply survival of the fittest at work.

So, people's characters will have to search for the truth about their heritage, protect themselves from the altered species, and eventually set out to the advanced colony with some hopes of finding answers. Of course, this is just a rough plot and will probably change slightly.

This is meant to be a serious role play, so that means literate people only. Feel free to ask questions, and I will be happy to clear things up.

is it character driven or more kinda race driven? how much interaction between the different races will there be? are there any other clues as to what we will be doing, 'cept running from these things and trying to wipe out that colony?

More character driven, though I will be placing many pivotal points along the storyline that are more racially driven. And avoiding the altered race will only be one of many obstacles along the way to the colony. It is a war-torn world, after all. >:3

Upon reading the premise of this, I'm definitely interested! In terms of these ("primitive") races, are there preset ones to choose from or do we create our own?
