Yes I have, I have a copy from a friend who is unable to play it so I didn't have to pay for it at all ^_^. Needless to say I was quite thrilled about that. Anyway, I haven't gotten very far, working on the mage's tower right now. It's the first place I traveled to, so I still have a lot to do. How about you?

You guys are silly with your grammar debate.

Oh~ very nice! I also didn't have to pay for the game, but I won't get into that kind of discussion. [Coughs.]

I've gotten to the Deep Roads of Orzammar during the part of the storyline dealing with treaties (trying not to give away spoilers or anything here). I've basically created a Paladin/Death Knight by using Mage: Arcane Warrior/Spirit Healer. I decided to equip plate armor and focus on getting aura spells and abilities that have upkeeps instead of casting costs. That way I can have my buffs and AoE debuffs active at all times and not have to worry about mana, meanwhile bashing faces in with melee weapons and taking hits like a real tank!

Now, if only I could force myself to focus on getting decent gear for the other members of my group, maybe I wouldn't suck so much when it comes to battling those pesky higher-level enemies.

Since I started as a Mage, the Mage's Tower was obviously the first thing I had to do (though obviously something different from what you're likely doing), but I remember having to go back there later for some hack and slash action! Have you already spoken to Wynne? I regret to say that I made an uninformed error at that point... [Hangs his head shamefully.]

Who do you have in your group so far? I usually use Alistair, Morrigan and Leliana (sp?), since I like having a tank, a caster (trained to be a healer) and someone who can pick locks. I often wish I could afford to replace Leliana with someone else, though. I don't particularly like having to lug her around just for utility reasons.

Well right now I have Wynne (I didn't kill her), Morrigan and Sten I believe. I never really liked Alistair, I don't really know why, he's just off-putting to me in a way. I myself chose to be a dwarven two-handed sword wielder. Oh I do put liliana in when I need things unlocked, I don't like using her purely for utility purposes either

I have no idea what I'm going to try and do for a build, I haven't even though too far into that. Although I do want to get the sub-job that has blood magic, but that's just about the only thing I know. I haven't gone far enough into the game to find anything of use but I'm sure I'll figure out some build or another eventually.

I don't seem to worry about gear for my group either, but that's a problem I come across in most games. They just end up getting what's left over or my main character's hand-me-down equipment.

Yeah, see, I killed Wynne before I knew she could join your group. In retrospect, it was a horrible idea, since she's apparently the only focused healer you can get! Morrigan makes a decent healer if you give her Spirit Healer as a sub-class and rank all of her healing spells, but she's still nowhere near as good as Wynne, from what I'm told.

You'd have to be a Mage to get Blood Magic, though I'm guessing you knew that. I considered taking that sub-class myself, but the spells didn't appeal to me very much, so I chose to take Spirit Healer as my secondary, instead. I can think of a few ways that being a Mage: Arcane Warrior/Blood Mage would be incredibly useful, though. It would basically be the antithesis of my "Paladin" build, making it a "Death Knight" build, or something of that sort.

The game has a lot of options, which is definitely a huge bonus. Between developing relationships and slogging everything that looks at you wrong, it'll keep you busy for a long time. I'm still contemplating what I'd like to play on my second play-through, assuming I ever finish the first.

If I had to point out a disappointing facet to the game, I'd say the lack of armor variation is kind of depressing. Compared to Neverwinter Nights 2, the cache of available items is more than lacking. Still, having sockets that can be used with runes to gain additional effects makes up for a bit of the lacking variety.

It may not seem so important now, but I definitely recommend getting your party geared up for later encounters. Plus, you should always have an additional member geared up to replace people who are ineligible to attend particular quests. Otherwise, things can get very troublesome. I'll tell you now, though, that you're very lucky to have Wynne, since not having her creates a huge spot of trouble when you reach a particular fight that Morrigan doesn't participate in.

Have you fought any of the Revenants, yet? They drop the Juggernaut armor, which is what I'm using on my "Paladin". I've had it since probably long before I should have due to my expert kiting methods. XD It's very, very nice and I have yet to replace a single piece of it.

I can see why some people might not like Alistair, but I think he's absolutely awesome. He's probably my favorite party character, in fact. Having him and Morrigan in the party together leads to some very humorous dialogue, as well. If nothing else, it's worth dealing with the troubles of keeping them both happy with conversational options just to have them bicker back and forth in hilarious ways.

Yea, it's too bad you killed off Wynne, She is incredibly useful. And I meant get the blood magic oriented class for warrior which is the Reaver. I think it looks interesting so I figured I would go for it when the time arises.

I've never played Neverwinter Nights 2 or the first, I have tried to get them for free, but, unfortunately, I'm no good with that sort of thing. I'm sure I'll start getting better armor for everyone soon, probably after I get a really good beating issued to me, and I learn that it's bad to not have my party well equipped.

I haven't fought and Revenants yet, though I'm pretty sure I will soon. The armor sound incredibly useful, I'll have to get me some.

I did enjoy the conversations those two had, but I like Sten better than Alistair so my party will likely stay how it is. I'm also interested in Sten's back story, like why he was in his cage exactly. The information he gives about it is very limited, maybe I'll go to his village or something.

How close are you to beating it? I've heard it takes like eighty hours, but that's just from my friends.

I'm really not sure how close I am to beating the first play-through. Since I don't like looking up information about a game before I beat it, the things I learn are usually limited to personal experience or hearing them from friends. Kris being the only other one that plays, and he being the type who doesn't like to ruin things for people, I'm more or less safe in that regard.

I had no idea the Warrior class even had a Blood Magic sub-class! That makes me want to play one! It's settled, now. I'll most likely become a dual wielding Reaver in my second play-through of the game! That's really awesome. I'm glad you mentioned it. XD

Sten does seem like an interesting character. I'll likely use him a lot next time, since he seems like he would make a sturdy tank sort or a really good damager if equipped properly. Plus, you're right, he does seem the type who would have an interesting story to tell. Alas, that's one of the most attractive points to the game. Each character has things about them that you discover as you go along. Right now, I'm just too hooked on Alistair and Morrigan to worry about anyone else.

I tried playing through Neverwinter Nights 2 on multiple occasions. I played through to a certain point at least four times. I can't remember if it was any more than that. Each time I would get tired of the game, because I would eventually get bored of the class I was playing. It's unfortunate, because the game seems really cool and really fun if you get really into it, and I wish I could finish it, but I have a lot of trouble finishing games that I have to play alone. If I had someone I could LAN with in NWN2 I would probably play it through to the end with them.

Oh well, though. Perhaps BioWare will release a NWN3 sometime in the near future and I can play through that instead. Razz

Well all classes have a blood-magic subclass, they're just named different things. All the classes have the same types of subclasses just with different names and abilities. I just get my info from the Wiki, I usually don't mind spoiling minor things for myself, it hasn't ever mattered that much to me.

I would like to get a NWN3 if it were to come out, LAN with it would be fun, LANs in general are fun.

My replies are always lacking in content compared to yours....*Shrugs and decides to change subject completely* What games are you playing currently, obviously Dragon Age, but are there others?
