Hello World
Hello! I'm just writing to say hi, and to introduce myself. I just joined this site after reading a little around it and it looks amazing. I've been role-playing for years and really enjoy it. I'd love to be a professional editor one day, but seeing as I am not yet out of high school I shall have to wait. My name is Indigo, you can call me Indi if you so choose.
I am really looking forward to some good, steady role-play/writing, as it is quite hard to find. So thank you for being here, and I hope to talk to you all soon.
Cheers,
Indi

Re: Hello World
Welcome to FoG! I look forward to seeing you in the IC section as well as the OOC.
An editor, huh? Hear that Kathryn? It sounds like you found yourself a grammar sniper prodigy.

Re: Hello World
Psh... Just because she wants to be an editor, it doesn't mean she's a prodigy. Besides, she probably won't join me on my quest to enlighten others about the rules and the wonders of grammar and spelling. Kalon's the closest thing I've got, but Grammar Swords are a bit slower than Grammar Rifles...
Welcome to FoG, Indigo.
I hope that we don't disappoint you. Many who have come here tend to be surprised at what they find. So far, we have a pretty good group of people. Don't feel too intimidated to just join an interesting role play or to join in a discussion or any general chattiness of the OoC. We're a friendly group.

Oh, the gun? Yeah... Well... most of us are friendly. ^^_^^;;

Re: Hello World
Perhaps prodigy was the wrong choice of words. Apprentice seems to fit much better in this case. I amend my previous statement accordingly.
P.S. - We really need to get you a sniper smilie or something.

Re: Hello World
Well, the thing is that I'm honestly not very fond of guns. Though bullets are faster than arrows, I think a crossbow is more suited to my personal tastes. Also, if I had a crossbow, I would be closer to the same era as Kalon's personal title.
I don't want someone to waste smiley space on one just for me. I prefer not to use them. =3
Apprentice is a better word for that statement, and I accept your amendment.

Re: Hello World
Should we exchange the grammar rifle for a grammarbow?
(Space intentionally omitted to closer resemble that of "crossbow".)

Sure, but now it is time to stop cluttering this lovely new person's thread with our discussing my weapon of choice. ^^_^^

Re: Hello World
I'm so very impressed by this thread so far! I'd have to agree with Kathryn though, crossbows are better than guns, by a long shot.
But I would definitely join Kathryn on her quest to "enlighten others about the rules and the wonders of grammar and spelling." Something I have to admit I take pride in anyhow.
Thank you for the welcomes =). I am currently working on the Caligo Character Sheet. Really great story-line by the way!

Re: Hello World
Kathryn, you should be a Fire Emblem sniper! It's the highest-tier Archer class. xD
You'd essentially be Legolas with... I mean... very pretty eyes, and a dress. ^^
Forth! For honor, for justice! For GRAMMAR!!
*pokey the bad grammar! aaaargh!!*
xD
Back on subject....
Welcome to the FOG, Indigo!
I have a feeling we're going to get along marvelously.

Re: Hello World
I know I'm a little late, but welcome to FoG Indi!
I sure hope we live up to our expectations and that you really enjoy your stay here. Could you um... keep that Grammar Crossbow away please? I've just started back at school so spare me!
I do however think I'm pretty adequate when it comes to grammar. I'm more of a spelling Nazi than a Grammar one though!

It's a secret...
With a secret code and a secret location for the secret code and a secret code for the location of the secret code!
But I may or may not have stolen it from here.

Re: Hello World
Wait a second... How did I miss the fact that you work in a library!
I'm actually going to start college in autumn, so I can work my way toward my Master's Degree which will enable me to become a librarian. Of course, the stupid... tiny little reject libraries nearest to me aren't hiring... but I'll work in one someday!

Re: Hello World
I've been working in a library for 3 years. I love it. I was going to go into library sciences, but I think I'll prefer editing. We shall see.
So, how many of us are librarians, or want to be?

Re: Hello World
I thought about becoming an editor. There's probably higher pay for that... but I realized that I'm not very good with being nice about telling people they suck... and I'm not very good at convincing people to use a different idea other than their original one. I feel like editing isn't just grammar and spelling correction. It's plot correction, too, and I'm just not creative enough or political enough to do that well.
I'm going into Library Sciences, and there's a school right here in Iowa that has an ALA ((American Library Association)) accredited program, so once I get my general education done in community college, I can go right to University. ^^_^^

Re: Hello World
I would love to work in a library, a good one. The one we have here is terrible. :/ Tried getting work at Barnes & Noble and a few other book stores as well but it never got anywhere. Apparently Barnes & Noble only hire if you know someone who works there (many people have told me this).
And, wouldn't you know it, I do know someone who works there. Problem is she hates me and I hate her...
Anyway, an overdue Welcome to you.

Haha, that life works in funny ways. Maybe the perfect opportunity will come up and hit you in the face, Melancholy Spirit.
Kathryn, that sounds great! Congrats on being able to do it. Yeah, there is a lot of politics to editing, but I think I'd enjoy it. And you can pretty much do just about everything right from home, so I wouldn't have to get dressed every day if I didn't feel like it. Bonus.
