The Ghost Opera: Curtain Call OOC Empty The Ghost Opera: Curtain Call OOC

Post by Gunneh Sun Nov 01, 2009 5:06 am

There was once a time when darkness prevailed across the world, a time when the bountiful human race was in a near-constant risk of death at all times. The creatures of myth roamed the hillsides and villages of the world, terrorizing the people night and day. Still, throughout all of the chaos, life was still manageable if one was careful enough to learn the facts about these creatures.

All of that faded away during the Italian Renaissance when these creatures began to band together with one objective in mind: To plunge the world into darkness and rule over their weaker human counterparts. The death rate skyrocketed and, in a last ditch effort to stop this evil coup, the Pope made a decision that went against all that the Vatican had been known for for hundreds of years: The Church made a deal with world-renowned wizard and alchemist Nicolas Flamel to create a spell powerful enough to bind these creatures for all time.

Flamel, knowing the power of one of the most primal types of magic in the world, music, teamed up with Tomas D'Angelico, a very famous Italian composer to create the most powerful binding spell known to man. They named the piece Il Fantasma Opera, or The Ghost Opera. On October 31, 1403, the piece was played and the creatures were bound to the spiritual plane and the world was safe. The sheet music was then locked away deep within the Vatican.

The date is December 24, 2012, and one of the lesser priests within the Church came across the sheet music for an unknown piece called Il Fantasma Opera. Upon further inspection of the piece, the Pope decides to broadcast the piece over an internationally broadcasted Christmas Mass as his own gift to the world. The next day, without knowing the full extent of his actions, his Holiness brings back an eternal darkness on the world.

**************

Types of Creatures

Demons: Forget everything you know about these baddies and listen up. Demons are possibly the most lethal of any of the creatures released by the singing of Il Fantasma Opera because of one reason in particular: They're shapeshifters. Also, forget any notion of these creatures being fallen angels. The idea that these things used to be angels implies that there was some bit of good in whatever they call a soul. Usually able to wield any one of the elements, but not able to cross water. Demons can't cross the threshold of a home without building up enough energy to cross. Your best bet is to run if you encounter one of these beasties.

Vampires: Eat your heart out, Stephanie Meyer. What makes these creatures so deadly is the fact that they actually look like humans with the exception of their pale skin and elongated canines. That's right, boys and girls, there are NO sparkly vampires. Most of these creatures speak Vampyric, a series of high-pitched squeals, hisses and guttural growls used as a form of communication with one another, but some have learned to speak English or other languages. They have weaknesses to light and severe allergies to silver and garlic. A sure-fire way to end a vampire is to pierce the heart and burn the body. The former is usually enough to do the trick, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Werewolves: The easiest to spot, but possibly the hardest to kill due to their physical prowess. The creatures look like a cross between humans and wolves and they don't need moon to change. In fact, these werewolves stay in this form all day, everyday. They're able to run between 40 and 50 MPH and can lift nearly ten times their body weight. Their only weakness is their allergy to silver, so you'd best melt down some jewelery before you decide to take one of these bad boys on.

Harpies: The winged she-beasts of Greek mythology are more of a nuisance than a threat unless they attack in flocks. These are probably the easiest to kill of the creatures released during the Second Opera because removing the wings leaves them defenseless.

Sirens: The singing seductresses of the mythological world can mean certain death for any mortal who hears their song. The winged beasts are similar to harpies in the way in which to defeat them, but the only difference is that removing the wings only makes it easier to fight her. The only sure-fire way to stop a siren is to destroy the song by removing the head or damaging the throat.

Managgal: The Managgal is a former human that had been bitten by a vampire and sucked dry. The poison in the vampires fangs causes all the flesh to fade away, and they become mindless minions of their sire, bringing them live humans in exchange for scraps. They're relatively weak compared to their sires, although their strength truly depends on how strong they were when bitten. They have allergies to holy objects, light, and silver.

The Ghost Opera: Curtain Call OOC Empty Re: The Ghost Opera: Curtain Call OOC

Post by Dax Sun Nov 01, 2009 9:09 pm

Name: Field-Marshal John Medaris

Age: 57

Gender: Male

Appearance: The Ghost Opera: Curtain Call OOC 206615main_medaris-516

Biography: John Medaris was born on November 11, 1955 in Montreal, Quebec. He has grown up with a grandfather who told him stories about World War Two and a father that told him that he should keep his head with his studies. John, even at a young age, did not like getting told what to do. So, at age 16, he announced to his parents that he was joining the Canadian Military. His grandpa was proud and his father was furious. From then on, he kept more in touch with his grandpa than his father.

In military school, John flourished. This was a welcome change for he was the worst in his class at normal school. Out of all the classes, he showed particular promise on the firing range. At the end of the first month, he could shoot the bullseye without a miss.

He served in the Canadian Mission in Afghanistan for 8 years before coming back to his hometown heavily decorated. He had stayed until the mission had finally ended in mid 2011. Until the end of christmas time 2011, John had been relaxing with his grandpa. Life was good once more.

In Feburary 2012, however, that all changed. John’s Grandpa suffered a heartattack and died at the age of 101, an extremely venerable age. John’s grandfather had been heavily pious, saying that God had saved him on a fateful day: D-Day and was the sole reason he was still alive. Naturally, John never believed him because he was the classic skeptic. He disbelieved everything. In fact, it was one of the rare subjects that they argued on. However, in his grandpas will, he had the final word in their little arguements. In his grandpa’s will, there was a paid ticket to the Vatican. One of the old mans final words was to send him to the capital of christianity so he may find faith within him. Reluctantly, he accepted.

That action was only to be followed by another letter, from the nations capital that he was to fly to the Vatican as a representative of Canada. He was to be working at the embassy. It fitted perfectly.

John now lives in the embassy in Rome, near the Vatican. Everyday he goes to St-Peter’s Square, trying to find the faith that his grandpa was soo eager for him to find.

Personality: John is a fairly patriotic and practical man. All of his life he has been in the military, this has built a strong, resilient character. He is head-strong and only believes concrete evidence at not fairy tales(he is hence an atheist, religion seems too meh for him). While he is headstrong, and that’s not to say pigheaded, it doesn’t end there. He can be brutally sarcastic at times. He will not shy away from criticising anyone quite abruptly and suddenly, for he only expects the same in return. John isn’t easily impressed, but once his respect gained, he is a fierce and loyal friend who will not abandon his friends easily.

Primary Weapon: Browning Hi-Power (unloaded/ammo not usually on his person)

Secondary Weapon: Swiss Army Knife

Skills: Doesn’t believe in fairy tales (I.e. Faeries, Vampires, Werewolves, demons. I put that as a skill because he isn’t afraid of them), good marksman, strategic precision/intelligence, likes to shoot stuff thus hes good at it

A poor sap caught in the middle of every thing for the most part. I'm gonna make a priest character, but that's really the only Church man that I'm wanting.

As for the creatures, Kalaam...I'm wanting distinctly evil creatures.

Ok, guys, let me go ahead and specify something really quickly. I'd like anyone that joins to have a main character that is human and then a secondary character that can be one of the creatures.

ALSO, if you guys (Birdof Hermes, Dax, Kalaam and Ana) could use your above posts to put you sheets in to cut down on clutter, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Trolls are evil. Elves are so distinct and apart from us that they might as well be, and sprites are definitely malicious. And faerie rings are really bad things to step in. A few mad giants could just cause random havoc, and might as well be evil.

The Ghost Opera: Curtain Call OOC Empty Re: The Ghost Opera: Curtain Call OOC

Post by Eternity Mon Nov 02, 2009 3:50 pm

HUMAN
Name: Elaine Morrison
Age: 24
Gender: female
Appearance:
The Ghost Opera: Curtain Call OOC Black_10
Biography: Elaine was born and raised in the high class society. Yes, that means; good tastes, high standards, and spoiled with wealth. But thankfully Elaine wasn't some bratty bitch as a child. Instead, she used to get mad at her parents and run off, meeting with a poorer boy in the neighborhood named James. He taught her how to climb trees and apply band-aids, as well as a couple of other tom-boyish things. Her parents found out about the friendship with the mangy boy and cut him off from seeing Elaine... A couple of years later, Elaine was a teenager; one who was gorgeous and elegant in every way. She had almost lost all of her once wild and playful side. But now, she was no longer a child anymore, but a developing young woman. One night, a knock comes to her window. Standing there is a rather gruff looking, yet handsome, young man of a similar age. It is James, come to obliterate all hopes of her extravagance with the real spice of life. The two begin to see each other once more, and fall in love. Her parents again are enraged, and try to send James to prison. The result is Elaine running away and having sex with him, in hopes of greater defiance. That night, she told James she felt bad leaving her parents behind. The next day, her parents were murdered. James was a murderer...
-
Ever since that, Elaine has become a more fanciful woman, yet one who understands the grime of life. She loves the darkness of the streets and the wicked truth of the world. She does undercover work at a nearby police station, having been apprenticed and trained under the table by a few good agents and investigators. Elaine favors the opera, and the misunderstood. Now, in times of great mystery, she stands with a smile on her rich red lips; for it is but another grimy truth she's ready to accept and uncover.
Personality: Elaine is rich, and beyond your wildest dreams too. She lives in the fanciest establishment, a manor to herself- save for her maids. She is far from spoiled though, and doesn't take her wealth for granted more often than not. Elaine is down-to-earth, and curious as a kitten. She loves to play rough and isn't afraid to get her hands dirty. Her favorite past times are uncovering the dark secrets around her, and music of course. She takes private lessons for dueling and cooking. In her lonesome nights, she stands at her balcony and welcomes the darkness stirred with moonlight, topped off with a fine Black & Mild (cigarette).
Primary Weapon:
-Rapier
Secondary Weapon:
-Desert Eagle (pistol) ---> This weapon is only used on rare occassions seeing as she only has one clip.
Skills:
- Investigating / Snooping / Stealthy / Dueling or Swordsmanship / Acting Fearless

(His eyes are red and his hair is too!)
Biography: A red gemstone, rising from the doused coals of fires born to burn bodies. Darkness devoured his mother and father, and from their ashes and bones he rose. Wicked as the consuming force that he broke from into existence, was this foul demon. For a time he went without a name, wandering as his horns grew thin and his fangs sharpened. What a beautiful human child this red-haired demon would've made, if he could ever have hopes of a family without eating them. From the pits of Hell's greatest torture he rose, level by level and purged soul alike, until he had grown. Hundreds of years was the length it took him to travel Hell's entirety, and meet all the demons so great. From each he learned the greatest lesson, and the strongest fight. Personality: Welcome your nightmare, because this is it. Rubicante is a man who knows no morality, and knows no shame. His mercy is nonexistent, and those who expect it will gain none. Games he plays, seducing and corrupting, obliterating all he can. With his fingers he will sear the flesh, and with his tongue shall he burn it. He partakes in only the greatest of the sins, including wrath, greed, and lust being his favorite. He envies only for a short time, and defeats all that wish to create any form of trouble for him. Bird of Hermes: Good sheets save for one thing: Not even the Pope knew about the Opera save for maybe it being a ghost story told to young children to scare them into going to church and behaving. Change it around just a little and we're good. Also, is your secondary a harpie?

Eternity: Good sheets like always, but I stated earlier that your primary character had to be human. I'm wanting to keep the number of characters at a minimum so two per person is all I'm allowing as well.

The Ghost Opera: Curtain Call OOC Empty Re: The Ghost Opera: Curtain Call OOC

Post by IRLGoat Mon Nov 02, 2009 8:13 pm

Name: Aosoth, Demon-Dragon of the Deep
Age: Unfathomable age
Gender: Female
Appearance: Human Form Olde Form
Biography: Before the first Opera, Aosoth meddled very little in the world of Man. She was uninterested in their petty lives, their machines and minds. This Demon was more interested in the beauty of their Earth; its deep oceans, tall mountains and rich, green forests. When the Opera took place, Aosoth was unaffected at first, after all, she wanted nothing to do with them.

Soon, she became sickened by the stupidity of man. She watched as they destroyed their home and killed their beasts. How such a gorgeous planet could go to waste with such simple creatures... Many years she peered over the Mortal Realm in anger. Such ignorance! Such lethargy! Such beings should not exist.

Finally... the coming day! The second Opera! The doors to the other world came flying open; demon and vampires and demigods poured into the now ugly world of man. And along with them was Aosoth. Too long did she watch these creatures grow with nothing more than greed in their hearts. It was time for Aosoth of the Deep to take action.
Personality: Long ago she was a more dark and sinister soul. Her hatred for most beat deep in her heart. But over time, she began to grow tired of the same old "Demon-Dragon" act. Soon, Aosoth began to act more youthful, more comical(never, of course, hindering her evil acts... simply modifying the process). Although she has taken a much more innocent human form, her intentions are still dark, malicious and menacing; eradicate the human race, punishment for their ignorance.
Primary Weapon: Using her ability to change into her dragon form, Aosoth can gain claws, horns, teeth, her tail and her wings(although she is unable to fly) without leaving her human form. Due to this, she uses no weapon.
Secondary Weapon: N/A
Skills: Water manipulation, transformation(to her Old Form), enhanced physical strength and stamina, water-compatible lungs

Name: Olin Arvid
Age: Seventeen
Gender: Male
Appearance: Olin
From his father, Olin gained his dark strawberry blond locks, twisting and waving in a messy mop on his head. His pale skin and large mouth are also gifts from his fathers side of the gene-pool. His elegant, feminine body and storm gray eyes are remenents of his mother.
Biography: The second Opera brought nothing but tragedy to the live of this young, nervous boy. Both his mother and father were slaughtered by werewolves in the night, while Olin could do nothing but scurry out his window and into the dark blackness. Here, he was scared. Crying, he ended up coming across the Church, taking refuge until the morning. A Priest there took him in, allowing him to do odd jobs around the Church for money, and stay with him until he could find a place to live on his own.
Personality: When not in a cowardly panic, Olin is a smart young man. He likes to think things over before acting and enjoys puzzles and mind games. He often speaks to himself over little things. His dreams are hated by him. Like his mother, he sometimes has predictions through his dreams. Looming horrors haunt his mind... some might think him insane, others may believe him.
Primary Weapon: A Bec de Corbin he stumbled upon in the Church.
Secondary Weapon: N/A
Skills: Trilingual(Swedish, Italian and French), Psychic(through his dreams), excellent cook!

The Ghost Opera: Curtain Call OOC Empty Re: The Ghost Opera: Curtain Call OOC

Post by Gunneh Mon Nov 02, 2009 11:03 pm

Name: Nicolae D'Angelico
Age: 34
Gender: Male
Appearance: [1] [2] [3]
Biography: From the time he was a young boy till the time of the Second Opera, Nicolae had never been shy about telling the world about what he wanted to do: He wanted to save the world through the power of God and become a priest. Growing up as a devout Catholic in London made it an easy task to achieve, though, and he absolutely loved his job.

He also loved mythology from a very early age, especially the story of his exponentially Great Grandfather and the Ghost Opera. Everyone had heard the story as well, but he knew the truth about everything and studied it extensively. He was lucky enough to be the priest in charge of taking care of all the historical relics that the Vatican kept locked away in the catacombs beneath the church which included the sheet music for Il Fantasma Opera.

On the 23rd of December, 2012, Nicolae noticed something strange: The sheet music was gone!! He searched high and low for it only to find out what the Pope had been planning. He tried his best to sway His Holiness, but the outcome was the same.

The Opera was to be played Christmas Morning.

In his anger, he separated from the Church and left the Vatican the next day with Olin, an orphan boy that he'd taken in.

Personality: Before the Second Opera, Nicolae was fun loving and happy most of the time. Happy to talk to anyone who would listen about the joys of God or anything in particular, he was quite the storyteller. Since the Second Opera, however, he's fallen back into an extremely reclusive personality. He's hateful, wrathful and determined to return the world to the way it once was.

Primary Weapon: Sword [2]
Secondary Weapon: Two of [THESE]
Skills:

**************

Name: Azuriel, The Guardian of the Inferno
Age: Unfathomable Age
Gender: Male
Appearance: [Human Form] [Olde Form]
Biography: Possibly one of the first demons ever created save for the Morning Star himself. Azuriel never really fell into line with Lucifer and began to reign terror among the humans himself. At the time of the Opera, he was thrown into such a rage that ended up killing hundreds of demons and other creatures with his bare hands.

He watched the human race grow from the confines of the spirit world, his loathing and hatred growing more and more each day. He knew that they would release their own demise soon enough and he began to prepare an army for when the day of the Second Opera came to fruition.

Personality: Angry all the time. Can have a bit of a sense of humor from time to time, but it's hit or miss.

Primary Weapons: His gauntlets
Secondary Weapons: Fire manipulation
Skills:

The Ghost Opera: Curtain Call OOC Empty Re: The Ghost Opera: Curtain Call OOC

Wow, this profile didn't take fucking forever.
Here it is, enjoy the malaise and generally modern dysfunction.

Name: Dominique Rossel
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Appearance: Dominique
Biography: A complete and utter whore for the camera Dominique's claim to fame has come from various social networking sites, mainly myspace and vampirefreaks. While not a household name Dominique has secured many people's attention towards her with the use of sexually explicit and risque photos. This habit started at the age of fifteen, and at the age of seventeen she was charged with the possession of child porn due to the posting of her own nude pictures on the web. For a year she was put in counseling, though the only thing that the therapist could pin to Domi was self esteem issues. Little did the doctors know that the woman was being possessed by a demon. While not uncommon but certainly not an everyday occurrence a demon had been whispering just past the barriers of the Ghost Opera and planting seeds of sin into Dominique's mind. Now that her own personal demon has been unleashed Dominique has a whole new set of issues to deal with.
Personality: Dominique would be a witty, beautiful, and bittersweet girl next door type is she didn't resort to such drastic measures to get attention. Generally shy Dominique is the type to think of something good to say during the moment, but usually opts to stay silent when things matter most. Her internet and social networking addiction keeps her preoccupied from the demon that hounds her. Thus, when she's away from any internet access she falls into large bouts of melancholia and frequent fits of what seems to be dementia. The only way for her to appease Samon would be to go out and do something physically destructive.
Primary Weapon: If one could count Samon, then he'd certainly be her primary weapon.
Secondary Weapon: Whatever may be lying around.
Skills: Dominique is surprisingly charismatic when she wants to be. She's also able to get information that some people would otherwise believe to be unattainable due to the mass amount of connections she's formed via the internet and various party scenes.

Name: Samon
Age: You could spend a lifetime staring into infinity and still not be able to comprehend how old Samon is.
Gender: Male, Assumed.
Appearance: Almost human, but not quite. Don't worry, most of the blood isn't his.
Biography: Generally thought to be either Amon or Mamon or perhaps a descendant of the two, Samon had spent his early years as a demon rather bored. He generally disliked getting his hands dirty with the blood of humans, but wasn't some peace loving git either. He'd come to find that influencing humans down destructive paths was far more interesting than tearing out their entrails and sucking the marrow from their bones. Since then Samon has been a "behind the scenes" force in the lives of many humans. Some troubles of a larger scale such as Charles Manson or Elizabeth Bathory, others smaller like Dominique.
Personality: Samon is selfish and domineering. No isn't an option to a creature like Samon, and he'd sooner destroy the thing he wants most than hand it over to someone else. Manipulative and fear inducing Samon has spent most of his time getting what he wants based on a low growl and a flash of his rows of razor sharp teeth. Thus, when faced with someone who is wiling to physically fight him he's taken aback.
Primary Weapon: His claws
Secondary Weapon: The ability to turn into a mist like substance.
Skills: Manipulative and able to attach itself to a human and posses them. Also able to turn intangible by human standards.

Blah, I had to change the images.

Managgal - The Managgal is a former human that had been bitten by a vampire and sucked dry.
