This is me. Yes I know the quality is horrible sorry about that, the only way I have to take a picture is with my cell phone.

I don't really like my appearance and for some reason though I am as thin as a rail my face remains boyish.

Kalon, I'm not an expert on photography, but the best lighting in my opinion is outside in the daylight with a few clouds in the sky to filter the light so the photo isn't all grainy. I don't like to take pictures inside near windows because I have acne scars, and the way the light filters through the windows just makes them far too obvious. It takes a lot more hassle than usual to edit them away.

Acne is a terrible nuisance and the scars… ugh… I’ve yet to make an attempt to cover mine up though, or edit them out of photos or anything; most likely more laziness than anything. Haha

Apparently, at least so I’ve been told, I’ve often looked older than I was since around the age of fifteen or sixteen. ~shrugs~

Melancholy, I hate having to edit acne scars. I mean... technically they're easier to get rid of than actual pimples because they don't have any redness to them as they're just little craters in the face, but they're terrible. They make me feel less attractive because I know they won't heal with time like actual pimples will. Strangely enough, they're actually easier to detect in photographs than in person, especially when I'm standing by a window in said pictures. I just hate knowing they're there...

Okay. I decided to post a few of the pictures that I took of my friend Paige and myself when I visited her on December 12th. Paige is the brunette and I'm the blond. I love taking pictures with people whose colouring is different than mine. ^^_^^

I'm really sad that this one had to be blurry because it's my favorite of the two of us... I hate blurriness... It ruins everything... =\


I'm sorry the quality of the next few is craptastic, but it was rapidly getting dark as we took these pictures.

Kathryn, I just hate having them in general. But, yeah having to edit them has to be an annoying thing. I can understand how they make you feel less attractive; I feel the same way about mine. Thankfully I don’t have that many of them and I don’t get acne nearly as bad as I used to during my first couple years of high school. I still get a few decently bad ones on my face from time to time but the worst anymore is just my neck, shoulders, and back. As for those most recent pictures, I personally think the third one is the best of you two. Well, out of the ones you posted at least.

My acne is actually really bad, and it's all over. Even when my friends complain about their acne, they're like, "I know that it's not as bad as yours, but I still hate having breakouts." Or something like that. I'm not offended. I'm actually not very self-conscious about my acne when I'm seeing people in person. It just bothers me to have it in pictures. Photographs, to me, should be made to look their best even if that means getting rid of blemishes, changing colours, whitening teeth, or even using the warp tool to fix a weird looking part of the body.

I know there's been all of this controversy with people making celebrity bodies look twig thin, and I think that making someone who already has an awesome body out to be even thinner is wrong... but I don't see anything wrong with just smoothing out a portion of body fat that sticks out strangely. I don't do it often. I've only done it a few times, but yeah. It all comes down to making a photograph look it's best.

Personally, I'm more worried about my figure in person than I am with my acne. My body shape is basically a rectangle, and while that only means that my top half is basically the same width as my bottom half without a tiny waist to make me an hourglass, it also means my curves aren't as curvy and feminine as they could be if I lost some weight. I think I'll stay a rectangle, but losing weight would just bring me that much closer to an hourglass. hahah

Okay... I'm rambling... Bleh.

In pictures is typically the only time my acne bothers me as well. Not that I said typically, though. That might explain why I hate getting my picture taken though… since I never attempt cover anything up before hand or try to edit it once the picture is taken; which for some reason reminds me that I still ‘owe’ you a picture where I’m smiling.

God, this makes me want to go dig out some pictures of myself. Although, almost all of them are of me drinking, eating, or in a speedo from swimming. Also, I hate having pictures taken of me because of familial flash blindness. I like being able to see for driving. But, not all my intermediate family gets camera happy, just most of them...

Kathryn, I emphasize with the acne problem. I never had scars, although I did get stretch marks on my back from growing too fast. Those are mostly gone... anyway, I went on acutane for acne, and if you haven't heard of it, it's pretty potent stuff. The monthly half pint blood tests were so much fun... Also, worse place for acne breaking out is on the back of my shoulders. However, those days are long gone, and my liver got more damage from taking the ibuprofen.

Ugh... I think I'd rather have acne scars than stretch marks... They're smaller. I'm sorry you have all of those skin issues, too. I have stretch marks on my arms, on my chest, and on my hips because of my constant weight fluctuations.

I really wish the body was more resistant to things like that... I mean... A person can get stretch marks even if they lose too much weight too fast. It's lame. ._.

So I thought I'd show you a few pictures from my Brisbane trip. Truth is, these are the only pictures. We didn't want to carry a camera around at the theme park, and Dracula's wouldn't allow you to take one in. Anyway, here they are:



This first one is of myself (in the middle), my brother and his girlfriend at Dreamworld. I kept pestering them about going to the Tiger Island section of the place, because I wanted to see the albino one and when we finally got there they were allowing people to pat this one and have a photo with him!

Can you say, good timing?



And this was a Horror Portrait from Dracula's Cabaret Restaurant. (I'm the blonde, of course) It was by far one of the best nights of my life. Amazing entertainment, and, I kinda got stalked by a very attractive waiter, haha. He asked whether he could feed me some of my dessert. They all had characters, his stage name was Puss Puss.

Even when I'm in the worst of moods it's terribly easy to get a smile out of me. I must say, it is annoying sometimes. I might be furious with a person and because they manage to make me smile they think it makes whatever they've done okay.

That tender expression you see is pretty quick to disappear when I'm cheesed off. I think that's the only reason people take me seriously. Haha.

I really hope you do get that photo one day Kathryn. The moment was over in seconds but having a photo to remind me of it is great. I'm an animal lover and it was so amazing to be that close to something so rarely seen. And being able to pat it - the highlight of the entire day.
