Dyer's Eve - Pre-Apocalyptic RP

I saw that the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying, as with a voice of thunder, "Come and see!"

And behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow. A crown was given to him, and he came forth conquering, and to conquer.

When he opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, "Come!"

Another came forth, a red horse. To him who sat on it was given power to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another. There was given to him a great sword.

When he opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying, "Come and see!" And behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a balance in his hand.

I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, "A choenix of wheat for a denarius, and three choenix of barley for a denarius! Don't damage the oil and the wine!"

When he opened the fourth seal, I heard the fourth living creature saying, "Come and see!"

And behold, a pale horse, and he who sat on it, his name was Death. Hades followed with him. Authority over one fourth of the earth, to kill with the sword, with famine, with death, and by the wild animals of the earth was given to him.

When he opened the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been killed for the Word of God, and for the testimony of the Lamb which they had.

They cried with a loud voice, saying, "How long, Master, the holy and true, until you judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?"

A long white robe was given to each of them. They were told that they should rest yet for a while, until their fellow servants and their brothers, who would also be killed even as they were, should complete their course.

I saw when he opened the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake. The sun became black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became as blood.

The stars of the sky fell to the earth, like a fig tree dropping its unripe figs when it is shaken by a great wind.

The sky was removed like a scroll when it is rolled up. Every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

The kings of the earth, the princes, the commanding officers, the rich, the strong, and every slave and free person, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains.

They told the mountains and the rocks, "Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb,

for the great day of his wrath has come; and who is able to stand?"

Revelations, Chapter 6, Verses 1-17

The Mayan Long Count calendar had been known throughout the world since its creation on August 11, 3114 BCE. The scholars back then and the scholars today believe that a massive event will occur on the December 21 2012. Ever since, the world has gone under the impression that the world was going to end on that very day. Christians believe that the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse will come to Earth and smite the whole world and everything in it. Everyone, Christians or not, believe that the Antichrist would walk the earth, killing everyone in what would be called Judgment Day, Yawm al-Qiyāmah as it is known to Islam. Those who do not believe in any of the religious ways for the world to end, those that believe in any of the sciences, think that the world will end in a natural way, like global warming, the supervolcano or a meteorite sent down and causing a nuclear winter.

Several days before December 12, a group of archaeologists disappeared somewhere in the province of Tel Megiddo. When an apprentice of the head of this expedition found the location of the backpacks of the group at the beginning of a tunnel in Tel Megiddo, he read the diary of his mentor, only to discover the horrors that were written inside it.

Day 1
We have arrived at the airport of Jerusalem. The flight over from New York has been tiring and most of the party is absolutely tired from the flight over. Hopefully, when we get the next airplane to Nazareth, we will start our excavation site near Tel Megiddo. Only then will we find out if this suspicious **** is true or not. Now, I must get some sleep, since the journey will be long and tiring tomorrow.

Day 3
We’ve made it to the kibbutz of Megiddo. Tel Megiddo is larger than what I had expected. I think that we will need more than a week to excavate it and see whether or not the crazy people that had created the Bible were crazy. Anyway, we’ve got to wait for out equipment to arrive tomorrow before we can start to excavate.

Day 4
The ruins at Tel Megiddo are fascinating! I’ve only seen the ruins through the photos on Wikipedia, but my god… They look absolutely amazing! We’ve only started to dig on the south-facing side of the hill until… Wait, there’s something going on… I’ll write back later…

It was only a few minutes after our digging began that we have discovered something. There is a hidden tunnel that, from what it looks like, runs underneath the ruins. If I am correct, this tunnel will lead us to those answers that I’ve been trying to find for my entire life. As of now, Michael and Antony are clearing the entrance to this tunnel. We won’t have time to explore it, but gosh, we have found a hidden area to the ruins that no one has discovered before…

Day 5
Today we start to explore the tunnel that we have discovered yesterday. Excitement is making my hands shake. It’s very difficult to write this out, due to all of the excitement. I’ll write back as soon as we leave the tunnel.

It has only been 2 hours, and we are still in this tunnel. However, we have gone down several flights of stairs, showing that whatever this tunnel leads us to, it must be pretty big. Hold on… Jack has found something. I’ll write back later.

My god! It seems that the tunnel has led us to an undiscovered temple! Look at all of the treasure… That looks like there is a fortune that only Bill Gates could envy. However, that’s not what has excited me the most. There are statues of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse here as well. I guess that the insane bloke that had written the Bible was correct to some degree. As of this moment, I’m looking at the altar that is here and gosh… It is inlaid with pearls, diamonds and all of the precious stones.

Michael said that there isn’t a way out. There seems to be a mechanism that has survived all of these years to stop anyone from looting this temple. We’ve got to rest while Jack and Bob plant the explosives on the doors.

Day 6
I am the only one left. The explosives have made our situation worse. It has already killed Bob and severely injured Jack. He died only a few minutes ago from his wounds. But that is not the worst of it. Michael was looking at the wall behind the altar and had broken something within it. 4 lights appeared from the statues and attacked everyone. Michael, Jonathan and James have been killed by these lights. But Damian and Danny… they have changed. They changed into something that I have never seen before.

Three of the lights have disappeared into the tunnel. Only the pale green light had remained. It spoke to me, and it said “For thousands of years we have been held captive, we thank you for bringing the end of your world. Only God will let those that will stay alive for the Resurrection of your doomed planet. However, you are not one of the chosen ones…” And with that, the light had followed down the tunnel.

One of those things attacked us, but Jack had managed to kill it. Poor Danny… He shouldn’t have to die in this way.

What have we done…? We have bought about the Apocalypse and the end of the world. Maybe the Mayans were right. Maybe the world is going to end on the 21st.

I’m all alone in the vast darkness, and I don’t know where the thing that had taken over Damien is. It won’t be long before…

The rest of the diary could not be read because of the big bloodstain that lingers on the rest of the page.

The apprentice, horrified about what had occurred, left the country and goes to warn the rest of the world about the horrors that were about to be unleashed. However, the end had already begun. The 4 Horsemen, Conquest, War, Famine and Death have already begun to turn humans and animals alike into the demons of Christian's worst nightmares. It is only when there are enough demons in the world that the Antichrist and Satan himself shall walk the Earth and begin their final war against God.

Now, during these dark and dire days, a group of heroes, chosen by God, must walk to slay these horsemen before the world will be turned into a haven of Satan, and a new Hell.

I like it. =) Revelations was the only book that I didn't fall asleep reading, haaa.... (Well, maybe the Gospels too.) Nice twist/context on the ol' good versus evil theme.

Wow! I never thought that this RP would get noticed by anyone Anyway, shock aside, I'm glad that this RP is actually getting noticed. I'll try to get the RP up ASAP (since I've got exams literally on my doorstep, plus the various courseworks that I have to do as well >.< )

Thanks, Bird of Hermes. I chose Conquest over Pestilence because it links nicely with War and the rest of them. Plus it links with what I have in store for the plot of the RP.
