Response to formal invitation
Dear FOG,
I can with great pleasure say that my client, hereby called Fluesopp, will be accepting your generous invitation to this forum of writers. Fluesopp seemed glad when I told him that his post in the roleplay "Corruption, Monsters, and Defeat" was read, and found of such standards that you would invite him to this community. He sends his thanks and gratitudes and will be making his appearance as soon as possible.
Fluesopp currently lives in Norway, specifically the southern part, where he studies for a bachelor in computer science. He is Christian, enjoys reading and hates Twilight. Too Mary Sue, it is claimed he have said. His favorite books are the Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb. He also enjoys programming, although he haven't made any really big programs, yet.
Fluesopp's favorite themes in roleplaying is Fantasy, Modern Fantasy and Science Fiction. He finds dragons fascinating, especially the western type of fire spewing, lizard-like creatures. He also likes telekinesis, and believes that telekinesis in it's pure form is the absolute power. He have four characters he likes to write as; Aronin Orino, Isaac Summers, Simon Tails and Derek Wymond, also known as Isith Navarath. Aronin is the modern age telekinetic, Isaac is a Miyazaki stereotypic wizard (think Howl), Simon is a shape shifting ferret and Derek is a dragon trapped in a human body.
Fluesopps creative juices are like a geyser. When it is first flowing, it is flowing like hell itself erupted. But when it is dormant, little can awake it. However, with proper stimulants, such as a gripping, well done story, a good book or a good movie, it tends to have premature eruptions.
His writing style is descriptive; he likes to use great words when describing things and in several cases, whole posts are dedicated to the overly done descriptions. Actions, and especially fights, are his weaker points. But like all others, he is constantly willing to learn and improve.
With love,
Fluesopp's Lawer.

Hehe.. I was first thinking of breaking every single rule in my first two posts (Double posting) but some of the rules were "Inappropriate usernames are prohibited" and "Avatars can be up to 150 x 200 pixels. Signatures have a limit of 700 x 200" And I couldn't break those....

Re: Response to formal invitation
Hi there, Fluesopp. Glad to see you decided to join us here!
That was a lovely introduction. You're from Norway, you said? How very interesting! Oh, and I'm also a person that doesn't quite see the appeal of the Twilight series.
Wow, you're amazing! I'm a huge dragon fan myself, and my favorite superpower is also telekinesis! Right on.
We hope that you enjoy it here and find inspiration in others, especially for those times you may particularly be needing it. Have fun!

I love the Charizard dragon on page 6 (I think).
TOTALLY my favorite out of the pictures there.
Second favorite: the last one on page 10.
AWESOME DRAGON GALLERY!!
Welcome to the FOG, Fluesopp!
I see that you're from Norway! Both my parents were half Norwegian, so I guess that makes me half Norwegian, too!

Oh, nice! You assembled quite an amazing collection of dragon pictures. *ogles them forever* Thanks for sharing! ^_^
No kidding? That's awesome! I'm sure you're far better at it than I am too, hehe. I'm doing it for school, but it's not my thing. I'll leave that up to people that have a better grasp of it than I ever will!

Welcome to FOG, Fluesopp, and it's wonderful to have you here. And for what it's worth? The picture you're using in your signature is absolutely beautiful. *big thumbs up*
It sounds like from the sampling of your characters that you'd probably have no problem just walking into almost any RP, in any genre at all, with even just minor tweeking. I very much look forward to catching up with you on the boards!

Re: Response to formal invitation
Ha! In a recent conversation with my younger brother, I also proclaimed that Telekinesis would be the greatest power to have. It has such potential!
I also have a profound love of dragons. I used to have posters, folders and computer directories dedicated entirely to them, but through relocation, computer reformatting and other such events, my collection has dwindled greatly. Besides, you could say that I'm a traitor, as I have now sided with the knights who slay such dragons and view them as the greatest men of history. This is, of course, speaking entirely of the chivalrous knights who performed great deeds, and is therefore limited near-entirely to mythology and grossly misrepresented legends.
I digress! You do seem to have a creative mind, and I look forward to seeing how you perform on the boards! I highly recommend Kalon's RP, as it's undoubtedly one that makes use of copious amounts of imagination and creativity, so I think you would fit right in. I intend to take part myself, at some point. I just need to finish creating this extremely awkward character while assuring myself that I am not, in fact, the Grim Reaper of RPs in spite of the overwhelming evidence to support the accusation...
Your introductory post was quite unique, and very entertaining; however, one thing gave me a bit of trouble. You seem to neglect the proper use of "are" and "has" when dealing with plurals and present possessives, respectively. If it's something that you simply don't understand about our overly complicated English grammar, I would happily give a small lesson on it.

Re: Response to formal invitation
I assure you, it's not that I don't understand it but more that the written work was written in a time when written works usually should not be written... After midnight...
Also, I'm Norwegian and English is my second language. I tend to use the dictionary a lot. But that's why I like RP'ing. To improve my English. If there only was a way I could improve my spoken English...
Regarding Telekinesis.. My opinion is that telekinesis is not only the movement of objects but the manipulations of the molecules itself. So by using telekinesis in a proper way you would have the power over not only moving objects (including you, giving you the power of flight) but also magnetic power, the power to walk through objects, healing and about every single power you can imagine. Not to mention you can kill anyone by simply crushing their heart or brain.

Re: Response to formal invitation
Well, I don't know about the molecules concept, but the idea of flying is rather simple. I've always viewed telekinesis as an application of force. That is, after all, the idea behind the "kinesis" part of the word. Telekinesis is the application of force from a distance. Kinetic energy is energy used in motion, or the application of force. Thus, if you apply an upward force to yourself, you gain flight.
The idea of controlling molecules is a bit more complicated, though. After all, you can't conceivably apply a kinetic push to an object you cannot perceive, because you wouldn't know how or where to apply said force. Thus, you could easily disassemble something by moving away perceivable chunks of the object, but to lower the density by redistributing its molecules and then reassembling them afterward would be such a delicate and tedious process that telekinetically cutting through the wall and then placing the pieces back as they were seems like a much more conceivable (and obviously more efficient) strategy.
I don't really understand the magnetism thing at all, though. Sure, you could use your telekinetic power to bind something to you, but that wouldn't be magnetism so much as a constant, telekinetic pull.
I still think Telekinesis is undoubtedly the greatest power, though, in spite of it being a lot more limited in my mind than it is in yours.

Re: Response to formal invitation
Magnetism is not much different from electric force. It's many polar molecules aligned to make a united field of magnetism. It's really simple.
And of course, what I mentioned is what Aronin is capable of. His brain uses around 80% of its capacity to unconsciously predict how to manipulate what precisely.

Re: Response to formal invitation
Ah, I see. You're drawing on the dated theory of how we only use 10% of our brain's full capacity or some such. Well, I've long discarded that idea, but I suppose I can't hold my own beliefs as stock.
Also, you're somewhat right in that magnetism isn't much different from electric force. The truth of that is that magnetism is caused by electric currents, as well as an intrinsic magnetism that arises from the spin of unpaired electrons around the nucleus of a substance's atoms (of course, this would be non-contributory, since that isn't something you could control with telekinesis regardless). You say that magnetism is simple, but that makes me question how well you understand the entire phenomenon as a process. A material sustaining a magnetic charge is simple because some substances, such as iron, can be magnetized so that they permanently exhibit the properties of a magnet; on the other hand, to be able to turn magnetism on and off would be nothing so simple by way of telekinesis alone.
Telekinesis isn't an electric force, though. Electricity is a combination of kinetic, thermal, light and sound energies. Telekinesis is nothing more than the conversion of latent energy into kinetic energy. Like I said, that's the definition of telekinesis - the application of force from a distance.
That in mind, if you're talking about healing, you're dealing with the repair of bone, veins, flesh, etc. You would essentially have to force your body to speed up the processes required to fill in the spaces created by the injury. While you could (based on your ideal of telekinesis) move materials into and out of the cells more quickly, you couldn't really force the processes required to actually replicate the cells to speed up. As such, rapid healing would be impossible.

Re: Response to formal invitation
Well, different beliefs, different theories, different interpretations.
I interpret telekinesis as "telekinetic rays which, like gravity, only affects it's destination." It's perhaps not 'scientific realistic correct', but if that was how it worked, it would be scientific correct. At least I provide a scientific explanation to his powers.
Also, healing is not rapidly healing but simply to move and fuse the particles together. In Aronin's case, the cells itself are doing the healing by remembering how they were before, although at a slower rate.
And by realistic science and your definition of telekinesis, Aronin wouldn't be able to create Plasma out of nowhere, but he can. So it's obvious that we are not talking about the same definition. Perhaps telekinesis is the wrong term for his powers then?

Re: Response to formal invitation
Actually, what you're describing sounds very similar to vector control. This obviously goes far beyond telekinesis, but it also has some limits that telekinesis is not bound by. Controlling vectors essentially means controlling the directional flow of energy, which means that one could reverse or alter the direction of a bullet, blood, air, even sound, making one's self nearly impervious to anything or killing an enemy with minimal effort. Obviously, creating plasma would not be particularly difficult with such a power, either.
On the other hand, even control over vectors doesn't seem to cover the ability to alter things on the microscopic level. Arbitrarily, perhaps, but not directly.
Oh well. Interesting character sheet, though.

Re: Response to formal invitation
I always thought of telekinesis as using the Force. ^_^
As for my RP...
Weiss, you've read Terry Pratchett, I hope?
Well, don't worry, Death is really quite an amiable fellow.
I'm sure he'd love a role-play or two; he seems to enjoy exercising his intellect. ^_^
Tell you what: I'll make a pact with ya. lol, a Deal with Death.
I have always been the last man standing when role-plays die. As such, as long as you never quit, and I never quit, then the role-play is impervious to overgrown sickles.

But I don't wish to own cheese.
I'll join if you catch the reference...
And if you don't, I'll consider it. It does sound like a good story, so I'll just have topoop think out a fitting character.
