Post One Random Fact About You!
Let's learn more about each other and share a bit more of ourselves here! This game is extremely simply -- just post one random fact about you! That's it! Wow, this is hardly a game, isn't it?
I have a lot of faith in people sometimes, but I'm often times disappointed.
(ie. I left my flash drive at school one day but didn't sweat it, since I figured it would still be there or would have been taken to the lost-and-found, but I never had it returned. It never was taken to the lost-and-found either. Someone just took it, along with all of my work up until that point for school. Or, another example, I trust people with what they say, which usually leaves me being gullible at times.)

Ah man, I've had my share of stolen objects...
I can't say no. If someone asks something of me, I do it no matter how difficult it may be or how much I don't want to do it. (I mean this in terms of work or favors, I would never do something against my moral beliefs.)

Aww, have you??
Hehe those are usually the nicest people though. It can be hard sometimes too, I'm sure, especially if you do a favor that is really rather stressful or nasty.
Let's see...
I have a car with a license plate that says DRGN 77. xD I got it when I was just 15, and back then, it was free to get a custom one, so long as it had numbers in it.

Wow! -counts- I've been to 6...
Hm. I'm color stupid. I'll say something is blue and be told it's green. Same with tans, greys, browns...reds...Okay all colors. I see the colors correctly (I think...) but I don't put them in the right category I guess.
probably because I was raised by a colorblind father lol

Oooh, these are fun.
Let's see....
I have never been on an airliner. Or a train. Or a boat.

Re: Post One Random Fact About You!
Ah, you're missing out, Kalon. Well, I've never been on an airplane, myself, but trains and boats are incredibly fun modes of transportation. Of course, you have to do it with someone you can have fun with; otherwise you just get bored unless you're "that type".
Despite being misanthropic - or perhaps because of it - I get lonely very easily.

Re: Post One Random Fact About You!
Well I have been in a private airplane a few times with my grandfather. He used to be high-up-ish in Boeing, so he's all about airplanes.
And I have been white-water rafting (in one of the safest white-water-rafting rivers there is). Just not in a "boat" boat. With like a solid hull.
As for trains, I might--just MIGHT--have been on one when I was too young to remember. But, of course, I can't remember, so it doesn't count.
I definitely agree about the loneliness bit, though, Weiss.
Anyway, 'nother random fact. Hmm.....
I used to draw animals out of an animal book when I was little. I had a stack of paper and I'd just go at it for hours. They were all small pictures and I'd draw them large. Prettygood well for my age, too, I'm told, though I've lost them by now.
Cool thing is, I do still have the book! It's Volume 5 of the Childcraft series. World Book--Childcraft International, Inc. Childcraft: The How and Why Library. Volume 5 was called About Animals. The one I have was printed in 1976, I believe.

I've spent over 10 years playing Final Fantasy VII. As the milestone of such wasted effort, two of the characters, Cloud and Barrett, are both level 50 in the very first reactor, at the beginning of the game. Both materia you start out with have been mastered. Anyone who has ever played the game will recognize the insane amount of hours I put into that... I honestly put in some full 8 hour days, running back and forth for random battles to get experience. That is the life a young boy has living in the secluded mountains

Re: Post One Random Fact About You!
Whoa that's crazy awesome sad!
My brother and I used to play with LEGO's, and I remember this one day when we made a TON of little spaceships and a pretty cool space-port-supposed-to-be-place.
We gave them cool names and stuff; I remember I called one "Black Mamba," because earlier that week I had read in the encyclopedias that a black mamba is the fastest snake.
Most of my ships were black and red.
I must be a Sith!
It was waaaay before I even knew about Sith.
Oh yeah, I guess this has to be two random facts. *points up to the encyclopedia bit*

Re: Post One Random Fact About You!
I think a lot of people used to read encyclopedias when they were little. If not, that's just something random that we have in common. I used to love reading back in my younger days, stretching way back into the toddler years, and our full encyclopedia collection was one of the few interesting pieces of literature at hand. Although, I'm sure I probably started out just looking at the pictures...

Listening to the rain helps me sleep. Though I understand the reasons why I'm so fond of the sound, I'm confounded as to how medication has no effect on me whatsoever while the tapping sound of rain can often lull me off to sleep rather quickly.

Re: Post One Random Fact About You!
Lol these are quite interesting.
Kalon -- That's so awesome that your grandpa had a private airplane! I'm jealous. I've only ever been in planes (going to Germany and going to Vegas). Well, no, I take that back. I was on some trains before, like a small sky cab thing in Vegas and also a modern train in Germany, I believe, but not as in an actual train to travel in (like 'arry Po'er!). I think it'd also be fun to travel on a ship.
Aww, onenitedrive used to play a lot with LEGOs too! That's cute.
I wish I had read the encyclopedia when I was young. I'm not sure my parents even own one. I played a lot of video games growing up, though I never got far in FF VII. That's amazing that you've played it for so long, Silvone!
Listening to the rain at night is really relaxing - I agree, Weiss. Onenitedrive probably likes it more than I do too, even. I guess mother nature just wins there.
I can't decide what my favorite animal is. It's between a dolphin and an eagle. I've loved dolphins though for so long.

Re: Post One Random Fact About You!
Oooh, dolpin and eagle... what an intriguing combination that would make......
I'LL DO IT!! :: has a mission ::
I've always known what my favorite animal is. ^_^ It was a bengal tiger. (I knew what a bengal tiger was from encyclopedias and that one animal book.) Of course, that was before I knew about dragons. Immediately after I learned they existed, dragons took first place.
You can imagine my glee when, years later, I learned that I was Year of the Dragon according to the Chinese Zodiac.
You used to read encyclopedias too, Weiss?? Sweet! xD I haz a budy!
Yeah, the pictures were definitely a huge part of it.
Let's see now....
Fact! ~
I was unable to whistle until a few of years ago. Whole life, no whistling, up until around 2005-ish. Way I learned was because of the library where I live (not the library where I work now). It's within walking distance, and our computers were out for a long time, so I'd walk back and forth. On the walks, one day I just naturally started trying to whistle, without thinking much about it. It took a while, but after a week or so I was whistling a bit. Then from there it was a question of refining my technique, building the instincts so that I didn't have to think about it anymore. Now I whistle all the time, and I can whistle at quite a fair volume as well.
Just goes to show, when you go for a long time without a certain ability, you naturally use it more than other people who had it earlier. Seriously, hardly anyone in my family whistles, ever, even though they can. It's all me.

Written communications, of course.

Re: Post One Random Fact About You!
@Kalon: A buddy? Nay, for we are rivals! Why, you ask? That, my friend, is because I was born in the Year of the Tiger! [Snaps at Kalon's tail.]
@Fate: My favorite animal used to be a Siberian White Tiger, because I looked them up after seeing the second season(?) of the Power Rangers where the Green Ranger became the White Ranger. At the time I was completely unaware that I was born in the Year of the Tiger, but it's a pretty cool coincidence.
However, for quite a number of years now, my favorite animal has been the lion. That's unlikely to change.
Dolphins are a pretty common animal for the ladies, but the eagle is definitely one I don't see or hear very often. They are quite splendid creatures, though, so long as I dissociate the animal from its adaptation into the symbol of American patriotism.
@Silvone: Irony is the spice of life, so they say.
Fact!
Despite having developed many talents in my life (i.e. - drawing, cooking, singing, writing, carpentry, programming, etc.), I have an inherent aversion to careers based around those talents. For some reason, whenever I try to work toward a career based around them, I become extremely unmotivated. On the other hand, when pursuing a career involving skills I'm not proficient in, I take to it like a fish to water.

Re: Post One Random Fact About You!
@ Fate: Dolphin's are really awesome, and I know eagle is Silv's favorite animal....my childhood favorite is the panther, but I love polar bears just as much. I don't know which my favorite is.
I always associate the lion with my son, his middle name Leon being the reverse of mine.
@ Weiss: Boy, I wish I had that problem. I'm opposite. I have no talents and so picked up a major that does a bit of everything...anthropology.
Random Fact:
I have three scars on my left hand, where my nails were ripped from my fingers in a childhood accident.

@Weiss - Actually? That's not that unusual. I'm the same way. I think it's because when I try to write for a living or costume for a living, it ceases to be fun. But something that I'm not so good at (Math for example) I find it challenging and a polar opposite to my interests, so I enjoy the pursuit.

I own a real ceramic ocarina, and am quite good at playing Zelda songs on it, among others. ^_^ It's a very beautiful-sounding instrument. Mine has 12 holes, so I can play several notes plus sharps and flats.
Re: Post One Random Fact About You!
I have a ocarina too. I bought it on ebay for $10. Figured "Hey! It can't be that hard to play, right?!" I was wrong. I suck at it.

@Hello Danger~Lol, nice. Haven't well all done something to that effect? "Oh this looks easy!" 10 minutes later..."I QUIT!"
Let's see, random fact.
Oh, I can't go a single day without hurting myself. I swear, I'm the clumsiest person on earth. Last week, I got a papercut doing a homework assignment on SAFETY, and then I got another one opening the box of BAND-AIDS.
Yeah, it's pitiful.
And I wonder why my friends don't like to leave me alone.

I laugh uncontrollably at your plight, even as I weep in sympathy.
Getting cut by a paper on SAFETY reminds me of a scene from this children's movie Once Upon a Forest, where the professor's little flying contraption gets smashed by a book falling from a shelf. The book was titled GRAVITY. I laughed so hard.
Ocarina buddy!! I got my Ocarina from STL Ocarinas. It's this one. Plays like a charm.
They say that ocarinas are easy to learn, but hard to master. That's been my experience with it. I can play a mean Saria's song, though! xDDD
Alrighty, random fact...
Fact!
My first role-play ever was called A Threat to the King of Gondor. I joined in near the end, not realizing it was fizzling at the time. Sadly, the RP died soon after. But at least I got a couple awesome posts in. Pretty good for my first RP posts ever, I think, though my Sindarin wasn't nearly as good as I could probably pull off nowadays.

@Kalon: Oh~! That's a really cool ocarina! I want one, now. I'd probably never learn to play it, but it'd be cool to have.
@Muse: It's true that I've always been the type who immediately stops enjoying something the moment it becomes expected of me. That would also explain why I seem to be gung-ho for things I'm not good with yet. Perhaps starting something new gives me that refreshing feeling that not being good at it will be okay for a while, so I don't have to worry if I can't do it perfectly. No pressure!
@Ryona: I don't know. I find it more respectable that you work hard to make a career out of what you can do. After all, talent is useless if given to a person who wastes it through stagnation.
Fact!
You know, I'm having a really hard time figuring out something interesting to put here, this time.
I scored a 1280 out of 1600 on my SATs!?
I'll try to think of something more worthwhile next time...

Re: Post One Random Fact About You!
@Weiss: I suppose everyone wishes they are something other than themselves. My only drive in life was to raise a family, and I often wish I had a career in mind that I cared about as much as being a mom
Random Fact: I'm a collector (the nice word for clutter bug.) I have a collection of dragons (mostly purple), a small collection of swords/knives/daggers, and a large collection of LOTR paraphernalia. 60+ action figures, 2 swords (Herugrim & Hadafang), jewelry such as the One Ring, the Evenstar, the Ring of Barahir, a large assortment of books, maps, cd's, LOTR cards from the Trading Card Game, and a variety of statues such as Arwen & Arargorn, The Arganoths, Gollum, Minas Tirith & Morgul, and the Crown of Elessar. I also have a little statue with pictures in it from the Tuesday Trilogy.
If I weren't poor, I'd likely have a bigger collection...
