Some big changes for my family...
Well, it was just confirmed today (for definite and sure - no take backs) that we will be moving to Alaska at some point in the next 60 days or so. I don't have an exact date yet unfortunately, but I wanted to put this up in here, to give a "heads up" for the people whose RPs I am participating in. There will be a point soon where in all likelihood I will have very limited or no internet access for a few weeks or so while everything gets packed, shipped and then moved to our new house (that we still have to purchase).
But I am absolutely thrilled to say the least - my family has been seperated by my husband's work for about a year and a half now. Still, as soon as I have confirmed dates, I'll put them up here.
Until then, I'll continue posting in my RPs as we go, and of course I will be back after the move, too. I'm not that easy to be rid of.

Oh, wow. That'll be quite a change! I'm glad that you're happy about the upcoming move too!
I hope that it all goes smoothly and that packing and moving and all that isn't very stressful. My fiance and I have to pack and move twice now (once into our first apartment, and then a second time into our current one), and that was just the two of us, and it was a mess! I hate the moving process. I'm sure that it'll be worth it though in the end for you and your family.

It helps to pack the boxes so that they neither bulge nor sag. Keeps them secure, and greatly helps conserve space. This applies even if you're taking a moving vehicle like U-haul.
Just thought I'd share the semi-obvious, just in case.
I have some friends who recently moved to Alaska!
I call 'em "The Four C's," 'cause they're four brothers who all have 'C' names. I used to "babysit" them, and now they're growing too big for that.
Anyway Alaska is a great place, especially if you like Winter and ghostly rainbows (auroras). ^_^
Tell us all about it! Regularly!

All I can say is that duct tape will definitely be your friend when it comes to packing. Wow, moving to Alaska sounds really exciting! Hope everything goes well, and I'm glad things will turn out well for you and your family!

All righty, finally got a date (more or less) for our household goods to be picked up and gone to Alaska, and it's looking like October 15th. Basically what that means, is that I have exactly ZERO idea how reliable (or not) my internet access will be after that date, for about three weeks.
But it's okies - I should be back sorta kinda mebbe around beginning/mid-November - just in time for the holidays.

I think I'm back, more or less... sorta... *waves* I've been having difficulties with my ISP, so that might have to change tomorrow, and keep me out of the loop again for another couple days, but hey, at least we're in Alaska. *grins*

How are you enjoying Alaska so far? Was the move a quasi-pleasant one? I hope you own a camera so you can share pictures of the Northern Lights and auroras and such. ^^_^^

*waves* Hi Kathryn : ) The move was... well... It was definitely not one of the smoother moves we've had. ><
But yes, I have a camera, and the most beautiful night sky view from my bedroom window. I will do my best to capture the northern lights when I see them, and share.
I was without camera, though, when I saw my first moose "in the wild"... well, sorta in the wild. There was a mother moose and her calf, right outside the hotel lobby entrance in downtown Anchorage, while I was walking my dog. Brave puppy hid behind my legs at the sight of them, but they pretty much ignored us and went about their grazing business. And of course, taking the dog to do her business isn't normally a moment I'd take my camera out to capture. ><

That sounds really cool! Just be really careful. Mother moose tend to be very protective of their little ones. Stay safe.
