Re: The Complaints Thread >:(
He's talking about entropy:
en⋅tro⋅py
/ˈɛntrəpi/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [en-truh-pee]
–noun
1. Thermodynamics.
a. (on a macroscopic scale) a function of thermodynamic variables, as temperature, pressure, or composition, that is a measure of the energy that is not available for work during a thermodynamic process. A closed system evolves toward a state of maximum entropy.
b. (in statistical mechanics) a measure of the randomness of the microscopic constituents of a thermodynamic system. Symbol: S
2. (in data transmission and information theory) a measure of the loss of information in a transmitted signal or message.
3. (in cosmology) a hypothetical tendency for the universe to attain a state of maximum homogeneity in which all matter is at a uniform temperature (heat death).
4. a doctrine of inevitable social decline and degeneration.

Re: The Complaints Thread >:(
*nod*
Society is like nature, but flawed. In nature, entropy is just as natural and acceptable as enthalpy, nothing more than the ying to the yang if you will, a constant equilibrium. Entropy occurs when chaos and disorder is present, while enthalpy comes with uniformity and order. In nature, things tend to decompose unless effort is put into make it maintain itself together.
Now, unfortunately, in society there cannot be a yang, since yang is considered the black and evil half. Therefore, constant "enthalpy" must be maintained through effort, but there comes a time when everything loses its strength to maintain order, thus inevitably leading to the entropy. It is a circle of rise and fall, push and pull. Why do you think the Roman Empire fell, the British Empire (even if the UK is still around), all of creation is destined to degenerate from the moment it is created until the moment it falls... and then it is replaced.
All things change, and always there is a reason, a purpose behind that change.

I complain about... about... well, I want to complain but I am afraid complaining about this will simply not help the matter.
Too much.
I AM BORED.
To death.
And... more than just... a little depressed.

Re: The Complaints Thread >:(
It's actually Yin and Yang. There's no 'g' in Yin.
Also, when I studied paganism, I learned about an interesting association for the Yin and Yang symbol.
As you can see, there is a black and a white part, and there is a black dot on the white and a white dot on the black. The black represents women while the white represents men, and they are connected with the dots. You will also notice that there is a black line encircling the entire symbol. This represents a woman's womb. It's quite interesting.
It also makes sense that the black would be associated with women in a peaceful sense while black is also associated with evil in a destructive sense, as, in Christianity, Eve ((a woman)) took the first bite of the apple and convinced Adam ((a man)) to do the same, thus placing her in a worse light than her mostly innocent counterpart.
I complain that patriarchal societies view women so badly despite the fact that she has to bear and birth the children while the men just get the pleasure out of procreation, especially if they sew their seeds all over the damn place and take no responsibility in raising the children.
I also complain that I think I have a second ingrown toenail on the same toe as the first, but it's on the other side of the nail. My toe hasn't even finished healing from having the first ingrown toenail removed. Why is it that I have never had an ingrown toenail, but I suddenly acquire two one right after the other? This sucks... I don't want to go through the procedure again. The shots were the worst part. They hurt so much! ^;_;^

Ah, symbolism... such a three-dimensional art, really, that can be viewed in so many angles.
Thank you for correcting my yin error, though.
I am sorry about your toenail. Nothing much else I can say in the regard save that I hope it heals, which it will, and I hope you come to better moods <: )

I can't even find the words to describe how I feel right now. It's late, I'm tired, and I'm starting to wallow in self-pity for no reason whatsoever.
Gah. Ignore this. I'll be over it in the morning.

We have to fumigate the house tomorrow. Stupid fleas... They're going down! However, I'm complaining because it's not only a pain in the ass, but I won't be able to be in the house for hours, and my poor kitty is going to be stuck in the garage again. It scared him a lot last time, and it took forever to grab him since he kept running away from me. However, I'm not going to lock him in a tiny pet carrier for that entire length of time. That's just cruel.

Oooh, that sucks, Kathryn. You kill those fleas! Poor kitty though. At least you're letting him run around the garage.

What?! Saturday?!?!
I'm still at work.. it's still Friday?!
Or did I miss something?
Even counting in Timezones:
It's half past Three in the afternoon, neither plus nor minus eight hours will make it any other day?!

I complain that people are retarded. -__-
If people don't like my ideas then they should just go and do their own thing. Especially if it's my story. If they dislike it they should up and write their own. Same with art. Don't make me sit there and draw you for a half an hour and then complain that you don't like my style. YOU'VE SEEN MY STYLE BEFOREHAND GODDAMIT. -__-
Blah, and I also dislike that the connection down here by the beach is scarce. I need a way to get away from my family.

What you need, Inerio, is a distraction. A bomb, a fire, gun shots in the distance, etc. When your family's attention is diverted, make a run for it. Works everytime.

I complain that I have a headache. I also complain that, while it was easy to draw the design paper that I want to use, it is going to be extremely difficult to paint it onto my face. It's much more difficult to erase a fucked up line with a bit of baby wipe without ruining the rest than it is to erase a light graphite sketch on paper without smearing.
I'm just glad I decided to only do one wing. ^^_^^

Aw, Kathryn, I understand how frustrating that is. I hope it isn't too bad though. I'm interested in seeing whatever it is you're drawing now though. :]
Ugh, so I went to the doctor's and then the ER way back in March (only to discover I had ovarian cysts), and the insurance has been drawing this out this whole time, "loosing" papers and not cooperating with us, and only now did they agree to pay up. The bills were over $13,000 for the hospital and the doctor's. Guess how much my insurance is willing to pay. $300. Yep, that's it! My dad was saying they could have saved money by not having insurance, since what they were paying for it each month was more than what my insurance is paying for these bills! That's just not right. So, not only is my insurance trying to screw my family over, but we noticed the hospital is as well, since they charged me for a full-body cat scan, and all they did was scan my pelvic area, since that's where the pain was. Why would they scan my whole body and brain and such for pain in my lower stomach?? I was the one they did it to, so I know they only scanned my bottom part, and the machine that did it wasn't even one that can scan your whole body at once. It's just this big circular device, not like the bed that you lie in that they use on TV. So, my parents are going to try and fight them on that, but they can't get my insurance to pay any more. Consequently, they're going to take me off that insurance and hopefully back on theirs.
On top of that, I just got an e-mail from my dad saying that, despite having dropped a class this quarter (my math class), they never got a refund for it! It was over $5,000 too!! I went to an advisor to drop it, and I even had to talk to some head-guy to get him to sign a form, so I know they dropped it. Now, I'm going to have to figure out who I can talk to about this, and I have no clue who to go to at my school, and frankly, I don't have the time to be running around. I have about a million things to do right now with homework.
EVERYONE is seriously trying to make an extra buck because of this F-ed up economy right now, and it seems like me and my family are the ones that are continually having to pay for it. I'm sick of it.

Well, I posted what I did in the Post Yo' Pictures thread. ^^_^^
:: hugs :: I hope everything gets worked out. That seriously sucks. It's like that time that the hospital told me my insurance would cover my STD tests, but it turned out that they didn't, so I had to pay over $200 for it. =\

Honestly, (and I say dis from seeing it happen), sounds like somebody wants a bribe, either with the cash or sexual favors. I'm beginning to question the medical profession in its effectiveness...
My mom left the ER, 10 hours of testing and they didn't find a thing. Also, when I smashed my head awhile back on some gravel, it took the doctors five hours to figure out that my brain wasn't bleeding. SERIOUSLY.
"Mr. Kunkel, it appears that your cranium is bleeding-"
"DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUR."
"Oh."
Damn doctors.
Re: The Complaints Thread >:(
Yeah, the whole experience definitely had us questioning them as well.

Re: The Complaints Thread >:(
Two complaints. A simple two issues with the entire whoopty fucking universe.
ONE: I complain that people I'm really eager and PRAYING to talk to online simply REFUSE to get online so we can get some sort of progress today. DAMN YOU, DIFFERENT TIME ZONES! Why can the people I NEED never post until about noon where I am? WHY?!
TWO: I also complain about older brothers by eight years. I'm forced to type everything on a shitty crud-crap computer with over six Trojans installed into the god damned system because of HIS stupid "intervention". He thinks I have nothing but my computer to keep me company in life. I'm out of this god damned house EVERY fucking Friday and Saturday, and yet I've no friends? NO LIFE?! I have friends all over this entire COUNTRY because of what I do online, and yet I still need this stupid "intervention" of his!
On top of that, I'm trying to download the very first virus protection program EVER on this piece of junk, and pop ups are coming from EVERYWHERE! RAHH! *destroy, destroy, destroy* I know a lot about computers and their workings, but GOD I have limits! I can't be expected to repair EVERYTHING just because I know the most about them! *EXPLODES in rage*
Dammit ALL! And my retard older sibling is asleep on the couch, right next to me. He could care less about my ordeal, the bastard. I'm getting payback one way or another...

Malwarebytes is very nice.
I have McAfee, and Malwarebytes gets the stuff McAfee misses.
So, I figure it might be a good thing for you to get. A lot of stuff from Malwarebytes.org doesn't take up much room.
I'm no expert on what it has to offer, of course. Just thought it might be a good place to get some free anti-virus stuff. ^_^

Oh, yes, I've got Malwarebytes to scan my computer as well. MacAfee, however, I've never used. Heard it has a good reputation, though, so I'll probably end up sharking about for something that's worthy of this ridiculous task. >_>

I complain that it took painful effort to dislodge the gauze from my wounded toe. This is definitely worse than the first time, but hopefully it'll never happen again. At least I have my handy dandy low-dose hydrocodone to keep the pain away.

Oh, Kathryn, that just sounds miserable. Your poor toe.
I am stressed right now, because I have a full-color scenery/environment drawing that's due today, and I haven't even had time to start on it yet! I've seen this other girl's work in my class, and her environment looks like it was professionally done by a real concept artist. I've been a little apprehensive since then. I can't do landscapes or that type of thing for the life of me. I need to whip up something in these next few hours though! Gah.

Fate: I think you oughta throw your story to the current presidential administration; they like that kind of political fodder for ammunition in the healthcare debate. The insurance ponying up only the cost of the MONTHLY premium for your treatment is certainly ironic enough to be useful ammunition.

I complain that my computer keeps freezing up. Like, at least once a day. It's making me paranoid about writing up anything these days, though I've been lucky. I've only lost one or two smaller things so far, between saving everything else and writing them up in Word...
