Icarus Dream Suite - Yngwie J .Malmsteen

Fifth track on the Rising Force album, eight and a half minutes of Yngwie playing guitar basically. Great instrumental that I would recommend to anyone who is a fan of neo-classical playing or guitar in general.

I like a lot of Elton John's music. The first song I ever heard by him was the one he sang for The Lion King.

Melancholy, I'm not going to make fun of you for liking something other than your usual preferences. Life is so boring if you only stick to one genre of anything. Life needs variety to feel fuller. I'm actually glad you like something by him because he is a really good musician, and his stuff is very unlike your usual favored genres.

That was the first song I heard by him as well… Very Happy

Well, a lot of people poorly assume that all I listen to is metal, ‘extreme music’ or even screamo (and I hate screamo…). So I’m used to a lot of people having at least the “What the hell!?!?!”[i] response to me saying that I listen to something other than that. This has even happened when I mention listening to post-rock, ambient, atmospheric, classical, film score, trance, darkwave… all of these I happen to love. The only problem is many of these bands are very hard to find (cd wise) even online. :/

For the most part a lot of what Elton John did was just rather bland to me, but Tiny Dancer was always one that I thought was interesting. I loved the scene where everyone started singing it in the movie [i]Almost Famous.

Edit: I even like some older punk/punk rock as well as the underground, synth-driven 'Post-Punk Era' of the late 70's.
