What is a Monthly Feature?
FoG’s Monthly Feature (or if you prefer MF) is a topic that is created monthly to highlight accomplishments of members of FoG. Each month the best art thread, written work/journal (or topic about the writing process), Role Play and Member is selected anonymously by the staff and featured on a thread in the Month Features area of FoG.
What do I get if I win?
All winners are given a place of honor in the sticky topic at the top of the MF board. All winners become part of the Guardian Ghost group, highlighting the fact they won, until the next winners are chosen. The winner of Member of the Month gets their own group because the requirements are more difficult so they get an extra special group!
How do I get selected?
The simplest way to get selected is to be active on FoG. Create RPs, post original works, post artwork and do your best to promote or help FoG to get noticed. The staff pays attention to the happenings of FoG and will take note of people posting quality material or going above and beyond to help out. If you feel that someone deserves to be nominated please PM one of the staff to nominate them.
When are the Monthly Features posted?
MFs are posted in the last week of the month and are locked when the next topic is created. This gives a chance for the FoG members to congratulate the winners and check out the work that is featured. Good luck!
How do I get nominated for Writing and Journalism?
First you must have a topic in the Written Works or a Blogs & Journals or have post in topics in the Writing and Role Play in General section. If the staff feels like it is the best topic/discussion about the writing process, written work, blog, or journal posted that month it will be featured.
How do I get nominated for Art and Design?
First you must have a topic in the Art & Design section. If the staff feels like it is the best artwork posted that month it will be featured.
How do I get nominated for Role-Play?
First you must have a RP topic in the In Character section. If the staff feels like it is the best active role play that month it will be featured. In order to qualify it must have both an IC and OoC topic that are active.
How do I get nominated for Member of the Month?
Where the other nominations are more defined, this one is a bit harder to explain. When the staff sees a member going above and beyond to help out FoG or other FoG members they will be nominated for Member of the Month. It could be from providing images for the Admins to use for FoG, promoting FoG and bringing in new people, greeting every new member, answering questions, creating interesting topics in the OoC area, and etc. In general terms being the best FoG member on the site.
