Ok, so another, get to know each other thing, but I think thats really important with an online community, just as it is in a "real life" community.

So to make this so people don't flood it with information you can post 1 of each of the above at a time (it also gives people a better chance of taking it in) If the catagory in question has multiple answers like mine does, you can list, as long they go together (like a trilogy etc)

Games: Metroid Prime 1,2 and 3

Authors and Books: The Three Worlds Series by Ian Irvine

Films: Transformers

Games: There are very few popular games that I don't like. Unlike a lot of other media, there isn't really a 'mainstream' game type - there's good, and there's bad. I like most every game that's considered good.

Authors: Alan Moore, and other than him, I rarely take author into account.

Films: Not a movie buff. I agree with the critics most of the time, though.

Bands: The Devin Townsend Band, Strapping Young Lad, The Devin Townsend Project (all four of the versions, even if it's not done yet. I know I'll like, I just do.) Punky Bruster, and Devin Townsend, the man himself. Other than his stuff, there's Tool, Wolves in the Throne Room, Korn (my guilty pleasure), Death, Zimmer's Hole, Morbid Angel, Celtic Frost, The Gorillaz, Meshuggah (their vocalist isn't the best but their instrumentals are amazing), Dethklok (lulz) Dr. Steel, and Emilie Autumn.

Love Emilie Autumn, she's wonderful. Not enough violins out there.

Also, I'm no good with names - I'll add stuff as I remember them.

My Favorite Games would be:
The Homeworld Series, (EPIC!)
DotA,
Starcraft,
Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory

My favorite Authors/Series:
Jim Butcher: The Dresden Files
Chris Wooding: The Braided Path
Garth Nix: Across The Wall (The Abhorsen Trilogy)
Robert A. Heinlein: The Moon is a harsh Mistress, Friday (And damn he has many more good novels I still need to read)
Same goes for Chuck Palahniuk, havn't read novels of his, but I only hear good about him.

Movies: (Movies containing Parkour: 007 Casino Royale, Banlieu 13, Yamakasi) I don't really watch many movies.. I do enjoy watching Scrubs and some Anime now and then, though.
What would be the best Anime I've seen? From the awesome factor, definitely Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.
From a story factor, hm.. Noein, Ghost in the Shell: SAT/Solid State Society, or: Death Note. And: The Law of Ueki.
Edit: OMG! How could I forget. Probably the best storytelling you will ever find: Mushi-shi.
Entertainment/Emotion factor: Azumanga Daioh, Hyakko. / Eureka 7.
And the best mix award goes to Baccano!

Music:
I listen mostly to electronic music at the moment, but I've lived through some other lifestyles in my time, and so still have other stuff, too.
When it comes to electronic music, most "bands" have one or two good tracks and I can't give the band/dj credit for the rest.
But examples of awesome bands would be: Daft Punk, Pendulum and She.
I also still enjoy LostProphets and Sum41. And besides these bands, lots of different tracks from lots of different styles.

Game: I don’t often play games, but I have found that my favorite one is Dance Dance Revolution. I have a lot of fun with it.

Authors: For a while, my favorite authors were Rebecca Brandewyne, Stephen King, Anne Rice, and John Saul, but lately as I’ve been reading more and more, I’ve come to realize that I don’t truly have a favorite author because I enjoy reading just about anything.

Books: I don’t have a favorite book, either, but the ones I greatly enjoyed that I have recently read are the increasingly inaccurately named Hitchhiker’s Guide trilogy by Douglas Adams and The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. I’m in the process of reading The Lord of the Rings.

Movies: I enjoy a great variety of films, but my current favorites are American History X, Big Fish, Pan’s Labyrinth, and Pulp Fiction ((just to name a few)).

Bands/Musicians: I honestly don’t have any favorites here. I prefer oldies and rock to any other kind of music, but I love all kinds of genres and musicians.

Game: Hands down: Legacy of Kain series. I know the graffics are kinda choppy, but I've found it's got one of the best story lines in a game to date. Yay twists and plots!! Net would be... Lego Batman. The arcade 2-d Ninja Turtles, and Metal Gear Solid... they crack me up.

Authors: Scott Lynch. I picked up his book because I was trying to test the theory of 'can't judge a book by it's cover'. I've found a new love for reading and stories through him, he's born to write, and I think he's one of those authors that will be well known years after he started, (not quite like shakespeare, but you get my drift Wink )

Books: The Lies of Locke Lamora: Scott Lynch, and his series of said. The name of the wind. Company of Liars. Harry Potter series. I, Vampire. Stephany Plum series, but Janet Evonovich.

Movies: Ha! Every Batman movie made. I favor the more recent ones, because they protray Batman as he always should have been, dark, broody, and tragic. Boondock Saints. Benchwarmers, Madagascar, 1 and 2. Ice Age (All of them!) The latest Star Trek movie. Rundown... I love movie Smile

Bands/Musicians: Sooo many here. This is dangerous. Dave Matthews Band. Blue October. Counting Crows, A perfect circle, Rollingstones, John Mellencamp. Sade, Pinhani, Tom Petty, Flogging Molly, Incubus... oh, theres more.

Games: Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger & Cross (Basically most games by Square)

Authors: .. No specific one

Books: Romance of the Three Kingdoms

Films: ... None at the moment

Bands: The Black Mages

Musicians: Nobuo Uematsu

Genres: Orchestral, Piano, Classical, Rock, R&B, Soul, Jazz

As far as I can see, most of my likes revolve around Final Fantasy. I have other likes too, but I suppose I'm rather lazy to list them all down right now at the moment..

Don't have such horrible tastes in music.

...Your stuff is ok, techno is tolerable, but fucking more than half of the things that guy listed? I'd rather have a long list of ancient chines torture methods performed on my body repeatedly than listen to that.

Especially if those ancient Chinese torture methods are similar to the Japanese ones.

Well, it's a good thing you don't have to listen to what Kail enjoys. It's not like he forcing you to like the things he likes. You don't have to bash everything he likes just because your tastes are different. Maybe your musical tastes give people headaches, too.

Games: GTAs,

Authors and Books: Currently I'm really enjoying Tony Gonzales' EVE: The Empyrean Age (yes I read books based off games I [used to] play. Get over it.) Its actually incredibly well written and has a very intricate plot. Overall, anything by Glen Cook is good.

Films: Close tie between Dark Knight and Clerks atm.

Bands/Musicians: I like everything, but I'd have to say that my favorites are between Lupe Fiasco, Atmosphere, and Disturbed.

Favorite Game:
-Final Fantasy X

Music:
-I listen to a combination of both hip hop and rock and lol, anything but country.

Some of my favorites:
-Linkin Park
-Outkast
-Sevendust
-Skindred
-Missy Elliott
-Chevelle
-Nickelback
-VSQ (Vitamin String Quartet- a 'string' orchestra that does tributes to many many modern bands)
- and lots of others...

Authors?:
-One is Stephenie Meyer, but NOT because of Twilight. Stephenie wrote another book called "The Host", which had NOTHING to do with VAMPIRES, and it was awesome. I personally think it deserved the fame that Twilight got because I found it to be more interesting.
-Another is Anne Rice. Now here's a lady who knows how to do vampires. And dear God does she do them well XD I love her books. I <3 Anne Rice.
-I can't remember his name, but the man who wrote Wicked.
-And Danielle Steele. Yes, I know, her stories are sappy and dramatic, but Long Road Home made me cry like a little bitch.

Books:
-The Host
-The Vampire Lestat
-Interview With a Vampire
-Queen of the Damned
-Long Road Home
-Maximum Ride (is that the title? It's been a while since I read it...)
-Storm Thief

Movies?:
-Matrix (WHOLE series, love it to DEATH)
-Madea Goes To Jail
-Without a Paddle
-Pirates of the Caribbean
-Dark Knight (Batman, dur)
-Memoirs of a Geisha
-Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
-Blow
-Watchmen
-Happy Gilmore
-Waiting
-Employee of the Month
-Down to Earth (I can't remember if this is the right title, but Chris Rock played in it)
-Pitch Black

idk it's a ton...

I am with you. I've played a tiny bit of FF, and I've seen the movies. I just enjoyed it. I'm not crazy about it. Perhaps if I had played all of the games, I would be a super-fan, too.
