Who is your favorite Smallville character and why?

I believe that mine is Lionel Luthor. He was, by far, one of the most controversial and in-depth characters, 3-dimensionally developed, and an intellectual. There was a constant inner struggle, in which he attempted to decipher whether or not he was the malevolent man he thought he was or a good person. He listened to classical music and had a developing relationship with Martha Kent (which I loved). Everything that is Lionel is both fascinating and interesting.

I've only seen a couple episodes of Season 1 so far, but Lex Luthor is awesome!! xD

Clark, Oliver and Chloe are my favorite characters of Smallvillie. I like Clark because he is adorable, Oliver because he fights for justice and Chole because of her loyalty.

It was Michael Rosenbaum's Lex that really impressed me. Lex's story reads like a beautiful Greek Tragedy. Always trying but never gaining love and approval from his father, always comparing himself to Clark and feeling that he is never good enough. And then on the occasion that he does something right, the psychological damage his father has done to him over the years causes him to twist and mess it up.

I wanted so badly for him to find redemption, and I came to realize that in that regard, I shared a lot of empathy with Clark. Michael was able to make me feel the same way the main character did, and I thought that was pretty cool.

Season five, episode nine, "Lexmas". I really enjoyed that episode.

I'm a proper fan of the Superman mythos, but I think my favorite characters were the ones invented for the show.

Chloe, of course, is a universal favorite. But my choice is Tess Mercer. She was wicked. Her story was new and interesting. Such an interesting mix of bad ass and kick-the-dog. When she switched sides, she was the best of any of them!
