Insert witty and descriptive title here
Really, this is just to put it out there that I'm kinda feeling a one on one right now (that's what she said), but I basically fail at coming up with ideas for one on ones (I think the basic rules for plots and formats is slightly different when you're just working with one other person- at least in my experience they have been), and also, I'm new, so I realize no one is really familiar with my style of RPing just yet.
But if anyone's got an idea for a one on one along the lines of modern fantasy or occult/supernatural, hit me up. I'm generally open-minded, but don't ask me if all you're looking for is for our characters to hook up- that always kind of annoys me. ^^;
But yeah. So that's out there.

Hmmm...
I have a character I've developed for another RP, not even on these forums, whose personality and interests might fit very well into a modern occult/supernatural roleplay as well.
He's actually a pastor, a Christian man in his mid-30's who lives what the Good Book says. He would run a ministry that cares for inner city children who are either abandoned, forgotten, have run away, or find themselves in need of help, one way or another. I could foresee him actually being caught up investigating the demonic/shadowy forces that, perhaps, may have had a hand in the death of his wife two years before - but that's just an idea I'm tossing out.
And a big emphatic NO, I absolutely GUARANTEE there is no chance that he is the type to try hooking up with your character, whether you create one either male or female... That kinda RP makes me too, actually. hehehe Story first!
So if you think this might grab you, be right up your alley, or if you have another take or twist, I'm still quite interested to see what you might come up with!

Huh, interesting. It might be something I could work with. Obviously, we'd have to flesh out the idea a little more, but I'm willing hash it out (is that even a phrase? hash it out? ). I need to sleep on it, since I just got home from an overnight shift, but I'll think about it and see if I can come up with anything. -nodnod-

"Hash it out" sounds just fine to me! Sleep well, and I'll catch up with you when you're a bit rested, and have a chance to think over a few things.
Not really knowing what kind of character you might have in mind, or even what setting you might prefer [to start in, at least?] (urban inner city? Rural American countryside? Overseas and exotic, even?) I'll just wait to "hash it all out" together, when you get a free moment.

I'm pretty open to just about any setting and time period, though my preferences tend to be modern. I have no idea what kind of character I would have- I'd probably have a few, since it's easier to manage more than one when you're just interacting with one person, and it helps to keep the plot moving, but I'd probably start off with one and add more as I saw fit.

hmmm... all righty then, we'll go with "modern." I think, if it's all right with you, we might start off in the inner city mission house itself (the city does not matter to me: just "large and nasty urban.") The pastor, his co-workers/volunteers and his kids in the middle of "just another day," tutoring, playing basketball, counseling, getting fed a real nutritious meal - something alone those lines (I'll put up more on his character a little later on, if you like), and then... something happens.
That something? Maybe your [first] character shows up? Or maybe there is some type of emergency, small disaster, tragedy - some supernatural event that would bring our two characters together?
It's a little harder for me to be more specific, without knowing what kind of character you intend to start off with? But perhaps that might give you an idea or two to kick things off?
My email is macbethswidow@hotmail.com. I also have AIM, at Isolde927 - but it's raid night tonight, I'll be slow answering for a couple hours. >< hehehe

Yeah, I really like your ideas. -is brewing up a character now- Actually, yeah, I'm thinking of going with a girl (or maybe a guy, I haven't decided yet) that shows up as a runaway but actually thinks they may have certain abilities regarding spirits (I don't want to share specifics on what my ideas are just yet, cuz it'll be more fun if we keep each other guessing on stuff like that I think :3).
I trust that he's a well-developed character that won't disappoint, so you can post his information or not.
Mostly I think we can keep most plotting to the OOC, but I can still add you on AIM for like, really pressing questions or something. My AIM sn is vitaminkitten (seeing the pattern here?) if you wanna friend me.

Re: Insert witty and descriptive title here
All added in my "buddies" section and everything. I really DO like that idea, that we keep each other guessing a bit... hehehe I have a few commitments I have to keep tonight, and a plumber to meet in the morning for my poor, beleaguered kitchen sink (yes, my life is one glamorous and amazing bit of excitement after another... srsly... XD ) but one or the other of us can put up the OOC tomorrow-ish, whoever gets to it fastest, or can think of an "interesting or witty title" first...
Fails epicly at titles ----------------------------------------------------------------->
And then after that, on to the IC! *big grin* I'm really looking forward to this - this ought to be a LOT of fun.

Yes, I'm looking forward to it too. Also, there's no hurry- if you've got prior commitments, by all means, stick to those. Real life takes precedence (it's lame, but what can ya do?). I'll start the OOC and we can bat a few title ideas around in there if you want.
