Oekaki
FOG now has its own oekaki!
I registered to receive our own personal oekaki a few days ago, and today, I got an e-mail saying that it's all been set up. We're set to go! It can be accessed from the Oekaki link at the top.
What is an oekaki, you ask?
Oekaki (お絵描き) is the Japanese term to describe the act of drawing, meaning "doodle or scribble."
Oekaki internet forum systems allow artists to draw pictures with a drawing program stored on a server and post their drawings on the internet forum. Artists do not upload their images on oekaki internet forum systems; they draw pictures inside web browsers with a computer mouse, a graphics tablet, or a touch screen (depending on what they have/want to use). However, some versions of oekaki software do allow uploads.

Re: Oekaki
I'm hopped up on my morning tea and am totally going to use this to (perhaps, if I don't suck) create some sort of graphic for Brushfire.

Woot! I love you tooooo. ^.^
Sweet, Heysuess!!
Oh, glad it worked, Anaris. There are a lot of tools in there to experiment with that are pretty similar to Photobucket. You can even have layers. I'm still learning it myself. It's really a neat thing though, and I've seen people create some really amazing artwork in it. It's also just super fun to doodle in though and be silly.

Re: Oekaki
Hah, I gave up though. I was full of fail on it. That's okay, I never could draw for a damn. I don't have the patience or the hand-eye coordination. I can't visualize something into art.

Re: Oekaki
Aww. I'm terrible at visualizing too. It's okay though! Not everything has to be a work of art at oekaki hehe. I mean, look at that drawing I did last night lol.
Re: Oekaki
Little confused on how that works exactly.... could we maybe have a tutorial? I know I'm so lazy!

Re: Oekaki
Ah, wonderful! Thanks for finding that, Anaris. That explains everything a lot better than I could (not to mention, I'm still learning all the buttons myself). ^^
Re: Oekaki
So I got annoyed with the buttons and stopped. I know some sort of tutorial has been posted, but can someone just tell me what exactly I did that made it so I could only work on certain parts at a time? It might have been that one button that looked like a magic wand, but it became obnoxious, very quickly...

Re: Oekaki
It sounds like you might have put things on different layers, Lara. The layers are listed off to the left. Maybe you created some?
Aw, what a cute kitty though!! =^.^=

Re: Oekaki
Ooooh. Same thing happened to me. Buggered me up for about 3 mins this morning as I tried to figure out why my marks and movements weren't showing up.
The wand selects an area of one color or pattern. To get out of it use the broken line box and select the whole drawing

Re: Oekaki
Thank you, Reffy. And thanks, Fate~.
So I found a new toy in this. If you choose 'overlay' as your option (click on the button that says 'normal' until you come to overlay) and play with colors, it blends and melds them into all sorts of new things.

Re: Oekaki
Are the comments not working for anyone else? I keep trying to comment on people's drawings on the oekaki, but after I hit the submit button, they never show up. I don't get it.
Re: Oekaki
I just went and commented on yours, Fate, and everything showed up just fine for me...

Re: Oekaki
I posted a few attempts at it. I do not have a tablet or any other drawing enhancer for my computer for that matter.
Just some "sketches" with the good-ole-fashioned wireless mouse.
