Welcome to FOG, Dakota! I see you love writing, this is a great place to be if you do. I am sure you will find something that meets your fancy. Thanks Marc I'm sure I'll have a blast here and the people on this site sound pretty cool, when I get around to role playing I may take on your advice of asking Kalon Ordona about the parts I'm confused on. I can't believe I found a site totally dedicated to role playing, I've been on this one site for Stories and mainly Quizzes before but this seems awesome.

I see that my reputation hath preceded me. ^^
But it's not as complicated as all that.
There are three parts to a role-play on this site. The Interest Check thread, which is exactly what it sounds like. Next the Out of Character thread, or OOC, and then the main event: the In Character thread, or IC.
Most often how this plays out is someone makes a new interest check thread to pitch their idea. Then one or more people express interest. When the originator is satisfied, they'll create an OOC thread, which will be their home base, so to speak. This is where all the background information, character profiles, and all the chat about the RP will go.
Finally the In Character thread can be set up, and the role-play proper can begin.
And that's it, your crash course on how role-plays work on FOG. ^_^
The reason we have OOC threads is because we have a rule against posting out-of-character things in an in-character thread. It ruins the mood, breaks up the atmosphere. So the OOCs are set aside for all that.
Anyway, if you'd like me to clarify anything, I'd be happy to do so.
