The Land of Myst
"There was a time, daughter, when our land was overrun with evil and its rotten cause. When those who demanded justice and freedom were struck down and our people were forced to serve a cruel King. The land fell into darkness and slowly withered under the King's poisonous reign. The water flowing in the rivers became tainted, the vast forests covering the mountains burned, and all life seemed to die. The land was covered in a veil of darkness so horrible, the sun dare not come out from its place behind the smoke-filled skies lest it be killed, too. And so this went on for three generations as the cruel King prolonged his life with the Dark Magic seeping from the pores of the earth. Until one day, a young girl by the name of Selenoa Mendea was born with the power to change the darkness to light and bring back the purity the world once knew, but had long forgotten.
"When she had amassed enough strength, she went out on her own and began her ultimate search for the thing that would give her the greatest power of all. That power was called the Myst, something that now flows through every creature in the land. Taking control of the Myst, Selenoa was able to gather an army large enough to fight the King's army in a battle for freedom. Ten long, cold years this war was fought, and in the end, Selenoa fought the King herself and defeated him. That day, for the first time in three hundred years, the sun finally came out and shone across the land through the clouds. And the people knew in that single moment that the dark times were over, that a new era had begun.
"Selenoa was named the new Queen of the land, and with that title, she was able to rename the land. She chose to name the new land Myst, as it was the Myst that had truly saved all from any more pain and suffrage. The rest of her life, she dedicated to bringing back the life that once filled the land and restoring the balance of good and evil. Within fifteen years of her reign, the waters were once again safe to drink from; in another twenty, the forests began to grow again and the life that once flourished came back. As her last deed to the land, as Queen Selenoa lay on her death-bed, she bestowed her power of the Myst into every living creature so that they too would be able to help make the world a better place."
"And did they, Mother?" the little girl questioned with wide eyes, hopeful of the answer she already knew from countless times of hearing this story- the story of her ancestor. Looking down at her young daughter, the Queen brushed aside a stray piece of hair and smiled gently as she leaned down and placed a soft kiss on her forehead.
"That they did, Lyoian. That they did."
Staring at her mother with admiration, Lyoian felt a wide smile erupt onto her mouth as she felt a wave of contentment pass over her, filling her heart and bringing a soft glow to her eyes. Leaning up, she hugged her mother and whispered a good-night as she walked towards the door. As her mother stood in the doorway, a sudden though crossed the little girls mind as she called,
"Mother, whatever happened the the Dark Magic the evil King possessed?"
Silent for a moment, the Queen felt a frown worm onto her lips as she shut her eyes, knowing this moment would come. Turning to face the curious face of her young daughter, she deepened her frown as she walked back in the room and sat back down on the bedside. Resting a hand on the girls arm, she gave a stern look as she replied grimly,
"The Dark Magic the King possessed was never destroyed. Instead, when it knew it's host would fall, it left the King and escaped into the wild before Selenoa could be rid of it. No one has heard or seen of it since, and let us hope it stays that way."
Seeing the troubled expression on her daughter's face, the Queen quickly put on a smile and leaned down to run her fingers across her cheek as she said,
"But, not to worry. Our land has only grown stronger since the destruction of the Old Time, and should the Dark Magic ever choose to rear its ugly head again, we shall destroy it as well. Now, rest your eyes and sleep, Lyoian."
Rolling over onto her side as her mother left the room, Lyoian did as she was told and shut her eyes and waited for sleep to come. But just as it came, a disturbing question rung in the little girls mind: What if I possessed the Dark Magic and the Myst?

So, yes. Just an idea that has been brewing in my head for some time now that I thought I might try my luck with here. Before you is a simple, but vague conception of my idea that I would like to turn into a RolePlay. Below, I will be writing another, more detailed explanation of what I'm thinking of. But, before that, I will offer a look at what the land of Myst is like, the type of creatures that inhabit it, and just what the Myst is. Without further adue, here you are.

The Land of Myst:
Layout of the Land
Geography:
The Peiwaktawyan Forest-
This immense forest covers nearly one third of the land, stretching from the northern shore of the Lakyen River to the western marshlands at the base of the Domsey Mountains. Much of the forest is unexplored as it is so vast and treacherous in some places, though some have made their home inside these woods. The trees of this forest are mostly evergreens mixed in with some deciduous that all grow exceptionally close together, making it a very thick forest. The older areas of the forest have been known to house trees that reach incredible heights, some growing up to be fifty feet tall and being as big around as a horse. Most of these trees are ancient conifers, some of which are rumored to be alive after living for so long. Along with having large trees, dozens of small shrubs, berry bushes, and ferns cover the forest floor, only adding to difficulty of travelling through it. Many of the plants in the forest are extremely deadly, though some have been known to cure even the most horrible of illnesses. Several types of berry bushes, including boysenberry and blackberry, can be found scattered in the outer edges of the woods, though, deeper in, edible plants become harder to find. The oldest sections of the forest have proven to be the most hospitable as almost every tree is lined with feet of Old Man's Beard and has small open areas of soft grass. However, the older areas have also been proven to be the most ominous as strange happenings occur in these parts. People can go missing for days and turn up completely unharmed on the other side of the forest, totally confused. The most perilous place in this forest, however, lies in the center at the base of the Domsey Mountains where it can rain for weeks on end. This mass of rain has resulted in much of the forest becoming a jungle covered in water-greedy vines and moss three inches thick in some places. There are literally countless poisonous plants and animals in this part of the forest as it is the harshest place to live. Thus, it is very popular to those who specialize in poison tipped anything as the toxins found here are no where else. Sometimes, instead of being included as part of the Peiwaktawyan Forest, this section is called Perniks Jungle.
The Jaradel Forest-
A smaller, less extravagant forest on the southern end of the land of Myst that borders the eastern shore of the White River and the northern shore of the Lakyen River, the Peiwaktawyan Forest on the other side. For the most part, the two sister forests are similar, though the Jaradel hosts more favorable conditions. The trees in the forest are mostly deciduous and do not grow as close together and have fewer shrubs covering the forest floor, making these woods easier to pass through. In some places, the forest opens up into great rows of trees with absolutely no shrubs or bushes growing in between, just tall leafy trees. Most of the plants in the Jaradel are edible, though a few scattered holly bushes grow here and there, beckoning with their brightly colored berries. A few springs open up in the center of the forest, creating small lakes where there are no rivers present. All of these ponds are devoid of any fish life, however, and only amphibious life thrives in them.
Rivers of Myst-
Five major rivers flow through the land of Myst: the Cadesley, the Mentisk, the White, the Lakyen, and the Barquec.
