Yep I made it with plenty of help.
It was not as easy as i had originally thought... That cape took me about 5 hours... closer to six or so counting sewing the fur [its a rug.. lol] to it.

But my girlfriend-She was going to be Daenarys Targaryen.

She refused my help so she didn't get it done in time [didn't have the time between work and school], despite having spent plenty of time on Reddit and Netflix Wink

. But all is well. she went and bought a completely separate costume from a store as one of the Disney princesses. Jasmine? is that her name? From Aladdin?

1. OMFG! If I could sew, I would make all of the costumes in the world (but only for myself)!

2. I don't sew, but when I was seventeen, my grandma made me a fox costume with fake fur, and it took her forever and a day, and she broke like... a million needles trying to sew that crap.

3. OMG! Daenerys! That's so sad that she wasn't able to get it done in time! It would have been so awesome to see two GoT peeps frolicking about.

4. Jasmine is indeed that character's name.

Yeah i used a really big tapestry needle to sew the rug onto the cape.

and in all honesty I don't sew, either. At least, not very well. I sewed the fur, and i sewed the seams to my leather vest, and that was it. My lovely mother who lives an hour and a half away helped me a little bit when my girlfriend and I spent the weekend there a few weeks ago.

There was only ONE other person at the party who knew what I was [that wasn't in the group i arrived in]. She was dressed as David Bowie- and looked hilarious [she had the tight grey pants on- and had some fake male parts- yeah. . . just... hilarious.]. She asked to take a picture with me. I wish i was able to get a copy as well....

Also, I'm sorry that only one person recognized your cosplay, but you can rest assured that I knew it RIGHT AWAY!

White blouse, black vest, crazy teased mullet, gray pants, and a pimp cane. it was well done!

doesn't look like i'm going to another party tonight, though xD. Looks like the lady friend is sound asleep with no intentions of getting up! haha.

Hopefully i'll get another chance to dawn the Jon Snow costume. I refuse to have made it for a single night's wear...

By all means, wear it more than once! And not just for Halloween. You could go to any event in that and earn wide-eyed esteem from anyone in the Know. xD

tonight it looked better. the wig cooperated much better tonight without the rain and all. so it didn't look all poofy. xD. and all the belts cooperated as well, so i didn't look like beer guy Jon Snow tonight like i did the other night... hah.

went to another party tonight. more recognition but left my phone camera in the car. i'll see if i can't get some from other people who were there. . .

Also, i don't LARP. but now that I have this kickass costume... maybe... just maybe... XD!!

and i'll find another excuse to wear it sometime, i'm sure... at leat, i hope so. yeesh.

Spectre, I definitely understand not wanting to just wear a costume once. I like to reuse all of my costumes. That's why, when my boss told me that we can dress up all week (for where the hell else am I going to be able to dress up since my boyfriend and I are recluses?), I decided I'd be reusing my elf costume for the second of the three days I'll be dressing up. Today, I'm going as a Starfleet Communications Officer. Tuesday, I'm going to be a Middle Earth elf, and Wednesday, I'm going to dress as Elle Driver (a.k.a. California Mountain Snake) from Kill Bill, Volume 1.

I'm going to try to get pictures, but I dunno what's going to happen.

BTW, ComicCons will accept GoT cosplayers for sure, but they're hell-a expensive. I desperately want to go to one some day, but I fear I'll never be able to do so. Mostly, I just want to go to San Diego Comic Con to go to one of the ATLA/LoK session thingies. =(

Also, I freaking hate wigs but mostly just because I have too much hair to wear them. They get weird, ugly bulges in them from my natural hair, so I just have to find blonde ladies with long hair to cosplay as... but most of them wear things that show way too much skin, and I can't deal. I'm not a prude. I just have a realistic idea of what would look good in skin tight or very little clothing, and I don't think I make the cut which is fine because I'm not sure I want to make that kind of cut. :: shudders ::

Anyway, it's 7am, I've been up for half an hour, and this Red Bull to get rid of my headache is starting to kick in which probably explains all of the random rambling. I need to hop in the shower so I can get ready. Hair is going to be a giant pain in the ass, so I'm going to need plenty of time to tame it.

Slapped together is actually a more apt description. I bought the 'skeleton' of it, which was basically just the body, put in the electronics, the pick ups, strings, machine heads, tuners, the whole shebang. Built would imply I made it from scratch completely. :v

When I finally finished riding Indiana Jones (my favorite ride of all time, I mean come on. Hot archaeologist?!?!?!) I checked my phone to see where Ysopet and Theoden were, and Ysopet had texted me

It's really a little courtyard on the side of the Aladdin Play House, on the other side of the Jungle Cruise. I knew exactly where it was because the last time we were there we sat in that courtyard while Theoden slept.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day! I didn't really celebrate it beyond wearing some green eye shadow with hints of gold. However, it turned out to not be so bad considering I tend to avoid green because it makes me look unhealthy or some such, so I took some pictures.
