Re: Dystopia - fever & Ragter
Hurrah! So, like we said in the interest thread, it should be set in a dystopian future with magic involved somewhere.
I think what you suggested was a good idea, and I have an idea too. Like I said in the interest check, maybe the reason this future became so dystopian is because of the influence of magic? I can see a really powerful person with magical potential becoming a tyrant, especially if this magic phenomena is new or something like that.

Re: Dystopia - fever & Ragter
Yeah, that sounds awesome. Would you want to play from the point of view of the people trying to fight the evil, or maybe farther in the future?
Oh! How about his students? And we could have a change of heart and turn good or something.

Re: Dystopia - fever & Ragter
Hm, I don't know. I think I would like to do it a little after the plot to overthrow the current evil is taken care of. It'd be interesting either way, so...I'll leave that up to you.
As for his students, I'm definitely all for that. Particularly the changing of heart; I know I would change my beliefs if my teacher turned out to be particularly evil.

Re: Dystopia - fever & Ragter
Lets do that then, a student thing. After the original 'dawn of evil' or whatnot.
What if kids are tested as teenagers for particular magical ability, and sent somewhere to develop their powers if found to be particularly strong?

Re: Dystopia - fever & Ragter
Yes, I think that would work best. Perhaps that is where the would change their beliefs and fight back against the current 'evil'? Rebel and whatnot; I figure it wouldn't be too difficult for them to rebel against an institution like that, unless it itself has guards with magical abilities...
Re: Dystopia - fever & Ragter
Oooh. There should definately be guards. It should be prison like, an institution almost. Breaking people's spirits so they do as told.

Re: Dystopia - fever & Ragter
Hehe, yes! I think that would definitely work out quite well, fever. Yet another reason that they would want to break out too. People tend to not like getting their spirits crushed.
Re: Dystopia - fever & Ragter
Yay! Okay, so should our characters meet just eachother in the institution, or should they know eachother from before? Relatives, or friends?

Re: Dystopia - fever & Ragter
Mmh...I'm thinking that they should meet each other in the institution. I don't know why, that's just what my gut says.
Re: Dystopia - fever & Ragter
Okay.
So I think the next important part is probably deciding what magic IS in this world. It's limitations, uses, and what it actually looks like.
Also, is it Harry Potter style, with spells, or is it more of a unique, every person can do different magic sort of take? I personally prefer the second option.

Re: Dystopia - fever & Ragter
As do I, reaching.fever. It'd get pretty stale if there were set spells that everybody could use so long as they had the skill to use it.
Uses could be for almost anything, from worthless right up to extremely worthwhile. As for what it looks like...again, it would probably change depending on the person's ability.
As for limits...bleh, I can't come up with any right at the moment.

Re: Dystopia - fever & Ragter
Okay, well, I think limits can be decided as we go. I mean, we aren't going to give our characters god powers, but at the same time the enemies have to be significantly stronger. I think we can use our discretion. And as far as what the powers are and what they look like, I think that is a personal choice as well.

Re: Dystopia - fever & Ragter
Alright then; I agree with you about the limits. It wouldn't be all that fun playing a character with god powers.
So is that everything in order?

Re: Dystopia - fever & Ragter
Almost. How futuristic is this society going to be? Also, what gender do you prefer playing?

Re: Dystopia - fever & Ragter
How futuristic...hm, fairly futuristic I would say, although not so much that it'd be unrecognizable to our society right now. Perhaps, say, our technology from about fifty years ago or so; in all likelihood, if magic suddenly arose, it would probably dominate over technology pretty quickly.
As for gender, I have no preference; I'm fine with playing males and females.

Re: Dystopia - fever & Ragter
Okay, sounds great. I'll leave it up to you what gender you want, cause I'm good with either.
We can make our characters right away. Yes?

Re: Dystopia - fever & Ragter
Alright then reaching.fever. As for our characters, yes, I suppose we can. Although I will have to be going off to sleep soon.
Re: Dystopia - fever & Ragter
You can just call me Fever - easier then the whole thing.
Okay. Here goes!
Name: Brendyn Locke.
Age: Seventeen.
Gender: Male
Appearance: With a rather average build and look about him, he only reaches to a few inches below six feet and has brown hair and eyes, both of a dark chocolate color. His skin is slightly tinted, almost tanned, and he tends to wear simple clothes, jeans and t-shirts predominantly. He has a birth mark above his left eyebrow, and one cartilage piercing on his right ear.
Skills/abilities: Brendyn was born with the ability to 'speak' to plants, which seemed useless until he realized he could control them. He can make them grow extremely quickly, and use them as traps or even modes of transportation. He has to be within speaking distance for his power to work, however.

Re: Dystopia - fever & Ragter
I was debating with myself on the age, but just decided to go with it.
Name: Lisa Wilow
Age: Sixteen
Gender: Female
Appearance: Lisa is decidedly average, at least when it comes to her height and her weight. She also possesses white skin, right in the middle of the spectrum between tan and pale. She also possesses bright blue eyes. Her hair, on the other hand, is black, reaching down a little above her shoulders, with the tips of it dyed a deep purple. Her usual outfit consists of a purple, wool cap, a simple black t-shirt and blue jeans, and black, fingerless gloves on her hands.
Skills/abilities: Lisa is able to manipulate energy. More specifically, energy such as fire, lights, and energy from the sun seems to be able to be manipulated by her. It has a myriad of uses, such as intensifying the energy being generated by a fire, thus making it more dangerous, intensifying the brightness of lights, or more simple, drawing energy out of these things and redirecting it as a wave of energy.
Unfortunately, she has to be fairly close to the energy to even use this power, with the exception of the sun. In the sun's case, her ability to manipulate energy is weakened severely.

Re: Dystopia - fever & Ragter
Awesome. Okay, so one more thing before we start. Do you want the first post to be their first day at this school, or maybe they meet in transportation, or...?

Hm...I think meeting in transportation would be best, fever. Don't know why, just a feeling, I suppose.

I don't mind the short length at all, fever. Short and sweet posts are better than long but boring posts, after all.
