Fire Emblem: Sea of Wrath Interest Check
The Background:
Millennia ago, before Man first looked above his head and dreamed of what could be, there were the Ancients. Records of their appearance have long been destroyed, but what is known is that they seeded the planet with all forms of life. For centuries, they watched their work thrive. Many times, they intervened to save a species life. Because of this, many came to see them as Gods.
In their pride, the Ancients began overlooking their creations. One group in particular began to fall. At first, it was simply a fight or two between smaller clans. Then it began escalating. Soon, whole regions were embroiled in the first wars. Devastated, the Ancients could do little more than watch as the Fallen moved from region to region, killing as they went.
As a last-ditched attempt at quelling the fighting, many Ancients descended from their floating cities. At first, it looked as if the gesture worked. The fighting slowed. But soon, Fallen began to thirst for the powers of the Ancients. One night, under the cover of a new moon, a large group of Fallen swarmed the Ancients. Despite their technological handicap, the Fallen massacred the Ancients. Their blood was fed up, fueling the Fallen's power. One in particular became stronger than the rest, more cunning.
Dark times befell the world. Evil, unspeakable things were done, and all that had been created was threatened. Finally, unable to watch the horrors being committed, a group of Ancients banded together and bound the Fallen and their leader away. The cost was great; Many were taken by a wasting sickness. Others simply fell where they stood, dead. After the smoke cleared, only a handful of Ancients remained.
Learning from their follies, the Ancients abandoned their few remaining cities and hid them carefully. Then, stripping themselves of their technology, they mingled with the few remaining races. From this Second Beginning, three groups rose to dominance.
The Elves came first. Regal and thoughtful, Elves became the woodland lords, overseeing the tending of trees, woodland animals, and all aspects of life in the woods. For their efforts, longer life and keen senses were rewarded to the Elves. Woodland magic also came to them from the trees themselves, allowing better caring and protection of the woods.
After them rose Birdmen. Graceful though intimidating, Birdmen took to the skies and made it their domain. Roosts sprouted from the tops of mountains. Vigilant in their watching their new homes, Birdmen frequently turn away Outsiders. The lucky few who get into Birdmen territory frequently befall ill fortunes, though an even luckier few have been rescued from their own stupidity.
Finally, Humans rose to power. Quickly spreading, Humans were by far the least organized. From fire came the wheel. From wheels rose migration. From migration came the knowledge of old magic. From old magic came wars. From wars came gods. From gods came clerics and knights. From clerics and knights came crusades. Such is the story of Humans. Only in the last thousand years have they settled into some semblance of balance.

The Story:
Humans have recently discovered Ancient libraries. Sifting through them, they're making technological leaps and bounds every year. This find concerns the Elves the most, who still have legends concerning the Time of Blood and the Dark One. Still, with reckless abandon, Humans sift through the old tomes.
Meanwhile, a dark cult stirs in the shadows, wishing to bring about the resurrection of the Dark One and plunge the world into 10,000 years of darkness.

Alright, there's one. I suppose I need to put up information as to what the Fire Emblem is and some other details...

Yes please.
Is this going to work like the actual Fire Emblem games, with statistics and such?

Re: Fire Emblem: Sea of Wrath Interest Check
I'm still debating on that. I will most definitely put down the class system, and naturally a Fire Emblem. This idea was born from a fanfic I started writing a few years ago, so I wanted to first gauge interest before determining details.

Hmmm... not familiar with any Fire Emblem games, but I like it, and would be interested in joining .
Should probably do some reaserch, though...

Not really. Any information needed I'll provide. I put the 'Fire Emblem' name in primarily because of the presence of an item called the Fire Emblem, though I might make references to other lands.

I don't know if I'll be posting official classes of if I'll lay guidelines and you all go from there.

Guidelines sounds kinda neat. I mean, there are only so many classes you could be, anyway, considering we'd probably have to start on the basics.
Would the classes differ for each race, do you think?

Re: Fire Emblem: Sea of Wrath Interest Check
A small variance. For instance, Elves would be better suited for support and magic classes and suffer in melee. Birdmen have superior physical strength but suffer in magic use. Humans, like always, are balanced.
The big requirement I will lay down; Have a major weakness or two. If your character uses a big sword, make him slow with his attacks. If your a thief, I don't want to see you flipping some 6' 5" man over one shoulder. Strengths give some depth to a character, weaknesses add a lot of depth, especially when played up. [By the way, once we get characters settled, I fully plan on conjuring up a scenario or two for each character's personal weaknesses.]
Now that we've got a lot of that settled, I'm going to put up the OOC thread. The RP itself will be posted sometime Thursday or Friday.
