ia ia Cthulhu fhtagn
Greetings individuals whom I have yet to come to know, I join this site at the behest of Christoph.
He speaks highly of this place and while I'm a little wary as I'm quite the slothful individual I think it may prove fruitful as I'm certain layers of rust have formed upon what ability I once possessed to forum rp.

Welcome to FoG, Impact!
It's nice to see that Christoph can bring great new members into our midst. I'm sure we can help to sand away the rust around your abilities to show the gleaming talent beneath it once more!
I'm Kathryn, and I'm your friendly FoG Advisor. Just think of me as the "school counselor" of sorts. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, I'm here to help. If you just want to talk, I'm equally capable in that capacity!
I hope you find FoG is enjoyable for you as so many before you have. ^^_^^

Like Kathryn said, Welcome to FoG, Nihil!
It was cool meeting you in the chatbox, and you seem like a nice guy. Christoph seems to be a good recruiter for our site, lol.
But like I said earlier I am an OOC Mod, and just like Kathryn I am here to help, with any questions or concerns you have.

Well as said, I'm slothful so it might take a bit to actually drag me into anything; but I often muse and plot things out.
My biggest flaw is that I spend more time world building then I do writing.

Honestly, I think a lot of people have that problem, but we can work through it all together. ^^_^^

It's great that you are friends with Christoph. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. World building is really interesting, but it's easy for me to lose hours at a time with it when I should be doing school work. ^_^

An avid world-builder, eh?
I have a feeling you and I might have much in common. ^_^
Welcome to the FOG, Nihil!
I'm looking forward to seeing some of your writing.

Good, good. I feel that things will become most interesting, now I just need to actually organise my thoughts and write things down.
What types of worlds do you construct?

Fantasy.
Mostly medieval fantasy.
With a focus on depth. So, so much depth.
And, depending on the project, often a focus on the epic.
Earth-like, the planets are, but often with variations such as multiple moons, different axial tilt or rotation speeds, things like that.
And maps. Lots of maps.

Re: ia ia Cthulhu fhtagn
Do you draw your maps by hand or utilise a program?
That's one of the areas I've been focusing upon of late, that and designing a magic system.
Lots of potential collaborators.

Re: ia ia Cthulhu fhtagn
I think I've just stepped into the realm of the fantasy geeks. xD Just kidding!
Welcome to FoG, Impact. Role playing fantasy is something I'm slowly working my way back into. I used to focus heavily on fantasy elements in my writing, but as of late I've been more intrigued with military and historical RPs.
Anyway, I'm one of the Global Mods here, and I'm sure my partner in crime will be along shortly to introduce herself. If you have any general questions pertaining to the universal board, we're your mates; give us a shout.

Military and Historical?
Heh, the two things I incorporate most into my world building, of course I tend to have a hard-on for the Byzantines so they're often the base of most of my concepts. My fantasy has more in common with Prince of Nothing and Kushiel's Legacy then say Dragonlance.
What type of war and historical period do you focus upon?

Re: ia ia Cthulhu fhtagn
Hey, hey! Another of Christoph's friends. Welcome, Nihilistic_Impact!
That's very sweet of Christoph. I hope that FoG lives up to the image he seems to have painted of it for you! The great thing though about layers of rust is that it can always be scraped off. ;] I'm sure you'll find this is a friendly community more than willing to be patient in role-playing with those who have no done so in awhile. We all go through time periods like that anyway.
I hope you enjoy yourself here!

Partner in crime? Hark! I hear my cue!
Welcome to FoG! I am Ghost's aforementioned partner in crime in the world of FoG's global moderating. It's great that you're a friend of Christoph. You seem like a really interesting individual and are already getting to know more of our members, so I'll keep it short and sweet. Enjoy your stay, ask if you have any questions, and...ahem...do guard your soul. We like to nibble

Re: ia ia Cthulhu fhtagn
I've done all sketch, all computer, and both. I'm so map-minded that I'll hardly read a fantasy story unless it has a map. xD
And oh yes, the magic systems. I have so many that I tend to mix them up.
I don't have that problem with my languages so much, though, because I basically use the same three for all my projects, no matter what universe it's in.

Well if it's more history-oriented, then I tend to focus on European renaissance. If it's war, always modern or post-modern (not too "in the future" post-modern, however).
