Nani ga deru kana?
Yo. Hakushaku here. Call me whatever. Hak I guess? Dunno, not picky. Will probably have it changed soon, I always do.
Found this place again. I was invited a few years back when it was just getting started. Registered as Vermillion Sky. Never did much but lurk, so I'm basically a newbie. Heh, I always miss my chance to get integrated. Deleted that account, by the way. Wanted to get a fresh start.
Been on the hunt for a good RP site for a while now. Place to dig my toes into the sand, place to call e-home, you know? Thought I'd check out this place. Looks pretty sick.
I'm a college student. Undergrad. Had a rough first year, been college-hopping ever since. This fall will mark my third college. I've studied everything. Tried philosophy. Love it to death, but not that hardcore syntactical stuff, more along the lines of humanities, mythology, esotericism in media, et cetera. Anyway, I'm probably gonna major either creative writing or journalism, and minor humanities. We'll see.
I write, obviously. Well, I like to write. I haven't done any good fiction in ages. And at some point I lost the patience to read. Crippling flaw, I know. I'm hoping to ease back into it with role play. Always worked well for me before, just couldn't find anything up to my standard. I have high standards. Very snooty, obnoxiously so. You probably won't like me.
I like picking things apart. Exploring them, experimenting with them, getting to know them, you know, their ins and outs. Narrative tropes, worldviews, game mechanics... People, too. I love learning what makes people tick. Bit of a mad scientist, I am. I also love to talk. About life, about living. Films, games, books. Mostly art, I suppose. It's my arena. Not much for sports, or politics, or any of that. Don't mind 'em but I don't have much to say about 'em.
Feh, I always ramble on in these intro posts. This should do for now. I'll answer questions if anyone cares to ask. Anyway, hi, good to be here.

Hey, Hakushaku...er, Hak. XD Welcome back to FoG!
I just noticed that Vermillion Sky's account was deleted, and I was wondering about that, so it's cool to see you back here under a new name, starting fresh. :]
I really like your choices of study. I wish I had studied either creative writing or journalism. Good luck with school, and hope you enjoy whatever you end up getting your degree in. Trust me, that makes a big difference. (I ended up getting a degree in something I now regret and probably won't do anything with.)
Hopefully role-playing can be your inspiration to get you back into reading, if that's what you want to do. I got into reading really big lately myself, since I discovered the Star Wars Extended Universe. Now I want to get through all these book series. I think it helps when you discover something that you can get really into that has a lot of books (or at least a fair amount) in the series, so that way it encourages you to keep reading in order to find out what happens next.
Well, anyway, it's nice to see you back here, and I look forward to seeing you around!

Welcome to FoG, Hak! You're definitely in the right place for high-quality role-playing, so hopefully you'll find FoG to be that place you can call e-home! It's great that you have such a wide range of interests, but like Fate said, choose your major carefully, because that will make all the difference when it comes time to job hunt or apply or grad school.
But enough of my philosophizing. Enjoy your stay, join some role-plays, and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions!

こんばんは、 はくしゃくくん。 どうぞよろしく。 ^_^
Sorry, I couldn't help myself when I saw your Japanese subject. xD
I'm DG, short for DarkGoddess. I doubt we'll be together much as I more so post in One-on-One and Casual roleplaying. To be honest, I rarely even forage into the welcoming boards anymore. But as I said, I saw your japanese. Being back home, I don't get a lot of chances to practice. Thanks for that!

Re: Nani ga deru kana?
Thanks for the welcome, mighty kind of y'all.
Heh, yeah. Maybe that's it. I haven't picked up a good series in a while. And I love extended universes too, for just about anything. Sequels, novels, side stories, you name it. I'm big into narrative theory, so I like to see old tropes evolve and new ones react to a certain setting. Like literary chemistry. Any rate, it's writing that I'm most worried about, so hopefully I can get some mental exercise here.
Ah man, now I feel bad. I don't know any Japanese myself, I just play a lot of Japanese games. I got that quote from Guilty Gear, Faust says it when he uses a projectile move with random results. I guess you don't need me to tell you what it says, heheh.

WannaHAKaluggie? XD
Welcome back to the swirly mists! I would normally give you my official and colorful welcome message, but Hermes beat me again, and you're already familiar with us enough as it is by now. So I won't spam your reading time with more links.
Hope to see you around more on the board!

Hey, 'panese-y is awesome! Never be ashamed! ^_^ One of my sisters is learning it, so it leaks onto me. Now I know all the things Marth says in Super Smash Bros.!

Welcome to the FOG, Haku!
Always good to see a new member eager to find a role-playing haven to settle down in.
Looks like most of the welcomes have already been said, so I'll just say Happy Writing, and enjoy the swirly mists! n_n
