He is a history lecturer at Goldsmiths London. She has just finished her first year at Oxford University studying Politics, Philosophy and Economics.

I like this shortened character sheet, myself. The thing I'd like to see, however is a direction the story will go. I've found that RPs with no Captain tend to get off course and fizzle.

General outline of the story:

Isabella and another member of her college end up meeting a lawyer who makes them sign a contract. After signing they emerge at the headquarters of the Protectors, where they meet the rest of their team and various older Protectors. Theoretically they should spend the next year training and returning to their own world for their university classes. However, the Protectors are on high alert at the moment. Every decade the representatives of all worlds meet at a Convention, which is planned to happen within the next month. The young team becomes aware of an event that could threaten the smooth running of the convention and ultimately cause a rupture of alliances. So not only do they have to overcome the expected problems when working with different races within one team but they also are drawn into assassinations, meet spies and have to write exams.

How does that sound? Whilst I have a more detailed plan as to what might happen I would prefer to not to go into any more detail and see how you guys react when it comes up.

I like the general idea quite a bit. Do you have any limitations or "I'd rather not have..." types for this RP? I know I get a bit miffed when people play telepaths, for example. It just seems like cheating to me.

Should we all start out as a basic new recruit or may we RP a character with some previous experience?

I have a half-formed nebulous idea in my head...but he/she hasn't told me what it is yet. lols

I think it would be fun if there would be characters with some previous experience there - not all just beginners in the team. Or alternatively even non-protectors. I have no definite "don't". I just hate it if another character puts words into my mouth, or brain. I will start a thread tonight.

Gender: True Androgynous

Race: Terenjian (In the current world, It would have been recognized as an Angel in the Christian tradition)

Background: Petiri is from a race of diplomats and scholars. They have been known as messengers, gods, daemons and ghosts in almost every universe. Petiri came to the Protectors as part of an exchange to collaborate with them in instructing new members as well as participating in missions. It can be confusing for many humans to relate to as It cannot be classified as male or female. It appears neutral to both sexes in the human world. It is skilled in diplomacy, spying and if needed has enormous physical strength when called upon.

In Its own realm, Petiri is barely reaching middle age and this assignment is considered one of Its beginning tasks within the Protectors.

We might need to flesh out a bit more of the 'world' the players can make characters in so folks have a better idea of what they can play and how they will interact. I've had a couple people menton they weren't sure about joining because they weren't clear on where you meant this to go.

Here's my character idea:

Name: Archael
Age: 32
Gender: Female
Race: Kelliistri

Background: Archael hails from a near-human race known for their natural stealth and agility. Because of this, they are often used as messengers, spies and assassins. Though their origins are on another world entirely, they blend well with the humans of Earth, due to their extremely similar appearance. The only visible differences are a wider range of natural colour in both hair and eyes, as well as, in some cases, slightly more pronounced canine teeth. The last of these three is seen as a sign of in-born martial prowess, and those of the race born with this trait are often trained in combat from a young age.

Archael is involved with the Protectors as a messenger and spy, using her stealth to move about amongst other sentient beings without being detected. She is often mistaken as human by those who do not know better.

Age: 24
Gender: Male
Race: Satyr

Background: Cardinal is one of the rambunctious Satyr’s of Greek myth, half-goat beings knowing for their roguish personalities, and talent for music. Whilst one should never trust a Satyr to handle the delicate work of diplomacy, their natural talent with most instruments and music makes them useful for social events and relaxation. Satyrs with the mindset for a more combat oriented role in the Protectors can draw on large wells of stamina, and the natural grace of their hooves to help them move and strike across the battlefield.

Cardinal is fairly new to the Protectors, only having served for a few months, but he’s quickly grown immensely fond of the ‘human’ life, taking great strides to blend in amongst the humans so he can enjoy their fun.

There is now a thread in casual called "Protectors". Sorry for the long delay - some stupidity related issues led to a tumble down the stairs. The idea is that all the characters meet somehow (your choice how you want to meet) and we then get introduced to the mission. Let me know what you think.

Ooh nice! I love the idea of the overlaying of the different landscapes. Will this 'house' that Isa finds herself in going to be the starting point of our adventures?

I liked that first section. I thought it fleshed out the character in an interesting and somewhat amusing scene. It was good.

I do not want this to explode in one fight after another but I thought a series of "classes" allow us to develop the characters and their interactions - and weapons training seemed a good starting point to make them come together as a team. From the characters it seems logical that Isabella will be, at least initially the physically weakest one and definitely the one least experienced so I have written her like that. Feel free to abuse her and hate her - that gives a good adversarial twist before they get together as a team.

Weapons training is a great idea for an opener. Cardinal and Archael probably have already had some training within the Protector compounds it seems. While Isa and Petiri have not. Petiri's people can fight, however.

In Petiri's case, it will spend at least part of it's time protecting Isa from the worst of the bumps and injuries of training. It is very strong, but a little bit of a pacifist.

Background: The Machari are a race that value technology and intelligence over almost anything. Near humans in the regard to their physical 'shell', most of them wear suits of armour or multiple implants to artificially improve their physical aptitude. This being said, it is rare to see a Machari that, at the very least, is not heavily modified. Biologically or otherwise.

Rick followed in the path of Tyler Kresh, a scientist among the Machari who was responsible for almost half of the technological advancements on their planet. While he has been dead for almost a couple hundred years now, many still follow his teachings and use them as a stepping stone for improving his technique. Followers of Kresh most commonly use suits or armour rather than bionic or organic implants. Along with this, these people are extremely arrogant, obnoxious, and highly egotistical. They believe they are the epitome of intelligence among the Machari. While it's not necessarily untrue, it separates them from the rest of their people.

Jaxton has been with the protectors for a few months at best, making little to no social interaction progress at all, often ignoring anyone that isn't up to his level of intelligence. He has been placed in a sort of make shift R&D lab to do whatever his little heart desires so long as it benefits the protectors until an opening on a team opens up and he can use his inventions out in the field himself.
