Yello everyone ^^
karkooshy here. FoG was recommended by a friend of mine so I thought I'd check it out
Looks like an amazing forum!
So yeah... karkooshy (that's a USERname if any one is wondering, lolz), male, 16... amateur designer (super amateur actually xP), use Gimp (yay... now you know why? xD), html, css and a wee bit of js. Painter, reader, and an Apple fanboy >.>
Not familiar with roleplaying but I'm a quick learner
I know I'll enjoy my stay
(Also have this weird habit of putting a smiley at the end of each line )

Re: Yello :)
Hey, welcome aboard
Roleplaying is tricky to get fully into, especially in the very beginning, but once you get the hang of it, it's a real treat. Everything is possible and your imagination is the only limit.
My advise is to look around the site, check out the different sections and such; don't be overwhelmed! That's what I felt at first, because there's simply a lot of material lying around here. Check out the active RP's in the Casual section at first or find a suitable 1-on-1 partner (or both? ). Read around the "Writing and Roleplaying in General" sub-forum, where a lot of passionate and knowledgeable writers give plenty of advise on what to do and what to avoid.
Most of all, have fun and enjoy your stay here at FOG.

Re: Yello :)
Welcome karkooshy! Glad to see you've arrived in the swirly mists.
And don't feel ashamed of using Gimp; I use it more than Photoshop actually! I guess it's because I know how to how do everything in Gimp that I can do in Photoshop in about half the time. >_> Also, I'm not having to pay an extra $200-$300 for each yearly upgrade to a new version that offers only a handful of new features.
Seriously, compare the best PS CS2-made graphic you've seen to the best made with CS5 and you won't notice much in the CS5 graphic that couldn't be done before with CS2. It's a scam I tell you! A bloody scam!

Re: Yello :)
Welcome, fellow GIMP-er!
Looks like the main welcome advice has already been delivered, so I'll just say to enjoy your exploration of the site, feel abundantly welcome to ask lots of questions--even stupid ones (woot! xD)--and happy writing to you!
We also have an art space for all us artists and graphic designers.
Guess we'll see you around, then!
Welcome again, and enjoy the swirly mists!

Hey, karkooshy! Cute name lol. It's fun to say. Welcome to FoG!
That's awesome that you're an amateur designer and know some HTML, CSS, and so forth! That's what my boyfriend does as well.
I hope you enjoy yourself here! Let me know if you have any questions.

Welcome to FoG, Karkooshy.
I'm sure you'll find that members are more than glad to show you the ropes when it comes to RPing, while still giving you plenty of room to develop your own unique style.
