Ahoy to all,

My name is Jason but I'm generally addressed as J and prefer to be. The moniker is meant to be read with your head tilted upside down, then "uos spo6" looks like "gods son". It's just a web identity pen name that came to me in a hazed or FOGgy (heeyooo!) vision probably over a decade ago and has stuck. More of a witty ironic jest I suppose than anything else. I'm 29yrs old and have lived in the Detroit area my whole life.

I've engaged in RPGing activities in a wide variety of genres since about 1994 where I started on an AOL community forum known as SWSF, originally Star Wars Sim Forum but eventually in face Space Wars Sim Forum to spare demise at the hands of that commercial whore George Lucas. We didn't play an exact typical RPG style game, more so an advanced version of a game of chess with overhead "campaign" like management of assets and resources and in depth character story lining. That eventually carried over on to the net and still exists today though it has mostly waned as there are few of us original AOLers left in the community and not much activity outside of that anyways.

At any rate, the majority of my background in interactive writing comes from that area but I've also delved in to things like Crimson Skies and painted and played a ton of table top Warhammer. I did a lot more writing in my younger days but have always held a high degree of interest in it. The overall eloquence of words and crafting a well told story with them is like a drug for me and I love artistic expression of all kinds from myself and from others. I'd like to think I'm more than an amateur but know I'm definitely not a professional, at some point I'd love to be but once you get yourself entrenched in that 9 to 5 rat race it's hard to envision making it any other way and even harder to make the leap from that mundane lily pad. I'm a lab testing technician for a major international building materials producer which basically means I have a shit load of time on my hands at work, and if I can't write at my desk I will go take a crap for a half hour and do it from my android

I've perused around a bit before deciding to commit and join up and it seems you guys have a nice established diverse community wide open for any sort of angle an author would like to take. I don't know for sure exactly what I'm going to get in to here yet but I'll be browsing looking for an appealing niche or maybe formulating something in hopes of spurring interest. I look forward to future interaction with you guys here on FOG and growth through that.

Okay, I'm a little creeped out by this. At the exact moment I read that, I heard the TV that was being watched by my parents. It just so happened to be Star Wars, can't say what movie, all I know is that the timing is beyond eerie.

You'll find quite a few people here who play Warhammer. What armies do you play? For Warhammer I run High Elves, and for 40K I go Chaos Space Marines (heavy on the marines, light on the demons) all the way, I still have a LOT of painting to do, though. I'm too much of a perfectionist, even with my grunts.
