Ha, so social you are... It's overrated anyway. Glad to see you around though...know it's going to be short lived for a while, but that's okay.
Well, working my charrie up.
Oh, Sevens and Athan are also set up on this site, FYI.

So FoG landed a group from somewhere? I might be late on the uptake, but can I ask where you all came from? Just curious-- usually people seem to wander in independently, not in a big group.
Oh, and welcome aboard, of course. I'm sure you'll get a greeting from one of the regular greeters soon enough. >.>

Re: HotelLima
On a dark coloured website, on my monitor I stare.
Warm hum from my tower, vibrating the in air.
Up ahead in my cookies, I saw a shimmering site.
My words grew heavy and my mind grew dim, I had to stop for respite.
The site was filled up with roleplay.
I saw the paragraph spell.
And I was thinking to myself
This could be Gaia or this could be hell. (But who could tell the difference?)
Then it gathered a fandom.
And it showed me roleplay.
There was an intro thread on F-O-G
I thought I heard it say-ay!
Welcome Mister Hotel Lima Lima.

To answer Chainlinc3,
We were members of The Pendragon Adventures Website - a D.J. MacHale's series. The site was cremated two years ago...I think...and most of the serious members had birth new site dedicated to it.
Our little group, HotelLima, myself, E7, and DarkGoddess (Not Athan - I was mistaken) come to you from Writer's Haven - a red-headed stepchild of Pen.
And, not Lima, it won't be. They don't know...and they never will unless you say.

Oh wow. So like, a group of you guys joined at once? That's awesome!
Do you all have intro threads or is this supposed to work for them all?
Also, be sure to read the rules and FAQ and things. One-liner posts put me on alert.
Welcome to the FOG!
I'm sure we'll all love having you around. And if any of you need assistance, please don't hesitate to ask. We're all pretty helpful around here.
See you around, then!
Happy writing, and enjoy the swirly mists!

Haha, thanks. Technically I guess I joined at the end of 2009, but I never did anything and then forgot about it ^^; But for all intents and purposes, yeah, coming over now... And hijacking Lima's thread 'cause I don't feel like making my own. >.>

How did you get that assumption, Deadeye?
Well, I'm not military...would have, but didn't...couldn't. Nevertheless, I work with them on a daily basis now.
And I've been around the site a bit, but working mostly One-On-Ones with Daandae off site.

A few things:
The OP's name is US DOD phonetic for 'HL', which can refer to a number of things.
You referred to two other users by what I can only imagine are last names, a common practice in military settings.
HotelLima referred to another user "E7" which would be Enlisted, grade 7. For the Army that would be Sergeant First Class, but for the other branches, I don't know.
He also said he was in a PX, or post exchange. That would be a military run building of commerce where civilian businesses are run, as well as a few other on-base services. Some are like gas stations, others like shopping malls.
And finally, I couldn't tell if you were being sarcastic when you asked, something I can rarely decipher over text based communications

@DeadEye: I think most of those are just coincidences. =P E7 is just our shorthand for EnigmaticSevens, another of our little posse.

Re: HotelLima
Well played, DeadEye. Wondered if you were just extremely observant with a little bit of personal experience on the side, or just quick to assume. Now I know.
And yes Kalon, we have return. I can surely say, speaking mostly for myself but the others could say about the same, that our lives (real and makebelieve) had moved a bit rapidly, not allow us to consume another RP site. But, for the sake of Hotel's painfully confined imagination, we come in twos.
Otter, there's no such thing as water monkeys!!! And otters are not monkey in water!!! I refuse to believe that those cute, adorable little water teddy bears are MONKEYS - or closely related to them! How dare you defile the very beings of your soul?

Re: HotelLima
Deadeye: If you're referring to us calling HotelLima just Lima, or me when I said Ms. Phi, it's just a habit of mine, at least. It's a bit of a mouthful to use the entire name so I shorten it instead. Those aren't their last names.
Kalon: I would have been here more often, but I in my final year of high school which was...rather difficult. I then left a couple of websites as I'd been on 6 different ones at the same time. Now I'm only taking part in 2 RPs (not including this one), so when Lima up there texted me that he'd be starting a new RP, I thought it couldn't hurt to take a look.

And as you can see, I've already joined it. Really it's become a sort of compulsion after all this time. It's nice to jump blind into a narrative that you know will be compelling. You provide a certain freedom, old friend, freedom in the knowledge that I will at no time have to jump in, direct, or heavily alter your story, freedom in the knowledge that I can let go and have a helluva good time. Such freedom is much appreciated.
Re: HotelLima
I'd love to hear more about the history you all share!
Sounds quite adventurous, as far as online friendships go.

Re: HotelLima
OMG, do you really wanna know....REALLY?
Can you handle the chaos, the back-stabbing, the humiliation, the pain?
The countless nights of tragedy, love, and cliff-shoving...can you seriously take on the overly-dramatic history of our online friendships?
WELL, I've only stepped into the Pen fiasco later on, so to get the beginning of all beginnings, you'll have to asked the others. But, my start in the group fully was when I signed up to Shadows in the Light of Darkness. I believe that, along with Heart of Winter, were my first two major RPs - SLD is still alive today. But, that was about three years ago.

Re: HotelLima
Ah, Heart of Winter. xD
I started at Pendragon back in its early stages, but I met Phi and Otter at Heart of Winter. It had the controversial status of being the longest roleplay on the forums. (It had the most posts, yes, but large amounts of them were OoC posts).
Around the end of that roleplay, HotelLima and a couple of his buddies started up a small spinoff forum called Roleplay Central. It started off with a small group, but it grew quickly. It went to a borderline death for the longest of time, but it did last until the end of Pendragon. Then, another user built a new forum we flocked to. This one went by Writer's Haven, and it's still running today.
There's a couple of other forums running that I'm part of, but I don't believe any of these others guys and gals are part of.
But that's pretty much our history. Lima's been in and out over the last couple of years, other than that though, I haven't really kept in touch with anyone, to be honest. I'm not in Writer's Haven any more, I've taken a sort of step back from RPing for awhile.
Also, Phi and I also collaborated on an RP that has a special place in..well, my heart at least. It's called Anima's Game, and it's my dream. I love it so much, I hope that it'll be finished someday, but honestly I doubt it. It's at a standstill as far as I know, and it's up to Phi now.

Re: HotelLima
AAHHH, don't sound so doubtful; it hurts so much. I don't give up that easily, DG - I've said it thousands of times. Life takes advantage of me on a daily basis, just like all others. Nevertheless, I haven't forgotten, nor will I ever forget Anima.
There are a handful of RP's that I wish to see to their rightful conclusions, and each one of them will reach it in their own time. I'm honestly scared to continue Anima on WH though, because I don't know if anyone else will return to it, or if we will get the same fluid combination of RPers we had during the first two times.
Well, as mentioned before, we may just have to co-write the story the way we see it and be done with it...
Wonder still if we should start all over again from our original concept...or send it to a whole new forum for new and fresh fingers to tickle it....
LIGHTBULB!!!!
Might consider revamping the whole story and bringing it here...
Ummmm....
Well, if time allows me, I might start thinking about that and working something out for the fall. First, I've got to get my company in order before the floor falls from underneath me - Literally!
(Heavy equipment + week studio floor = serious foundation issues.)
Oh bother, in due time DG...it will return in due time, but never without you.

I come with a question and a suggestion. Firstly, could you point me in the direction of any RPs you guys have done previously? I looked at that Writer's Haven place, but searching it was rather difficult so I gave up. >.< Anyway, I enjoy getting to know people through their writing. Or at least TRYING to, it's more of a hobby than anything. Cuz, you know, I suck at it horribly. >.<
The suggestion is to check out the IRC. I'm not sure if any/all of you have checked it out, but I don't think any of you are in *now*, so, yeah. Anyway, a lot of talking, recruting, and just general awesomeness goes down in there. Personally, I feel like it's as much a part of the FoG experience as the forums, but I'm just a little bit out of it right now. Three hours of starcraft does that to a person. >.>
