The funny thing about poetry nowadays
Is it seems all one really has to do is
Type up some prose and
Separate
It into "poetic" half lines which
Give the impression that something
Artistic
Is going on.

Pretty deep, huh? ^_^
No really, you should see the kind of nothing that wins "poetry contests" these days.
Stuff like...

O the abstractness
Is like marshmallows.
It burns.
The fire of the heated white
Over the campfire.
Scorchingness.
The yummy.
It is blown out after a second.
A moment.
A tiny piece of watchblinking.
Then the taste.
O the marshmallows.
It is like abstractness.
At night.

You see? It's "Poetry!" *sigh* How did it come to this?

Ah, well, time to continue this epic battle! Y'up for it, Hisoka?
All in good fun. ^_^ How about a Shakespearean sonnet? Very Happy

The champ-i-on of Chaos hath so rightly guessed
The next of whom shall in this place appear.
For I, indeed--behold!--have traveled here,
Have ridden far upon my wayward foe's behest.
And now, in case to foreheads palms are pressed,
Or chaos' minion cowers down in mortal fear,
Dispense I shall with these fair words you hear,
And all the sooner wage against our doting guest.
Now forth! To glory, vic'try, trial and light!
Anon this brightest blade shall play its part.
Come know thy folly, minion. Have at me!
Come now and meet again fair Order's knight!
And when this blade hath severed Chaos' heart,
A day of peace, this world may finally see.

Perhaps Chaos will return to the maiden's forested palace? For it has been too long since his poetic verse has enchanted its halls...

Gulag had to do with Soviet forced labor camps. I don't really see the connection to Chaos. Hmm

Why? Because. Only not, for the presuppositions are invalid.

Maybe something a bit more Tolkien, for our elvish lady. ^^

Softly the sound of the whispered leaves
Dances around through the shadowed trees.
Up on a rise, there a silken gleaming.
Soft is her gown, by a willow preening,
The Silvan maid of the wending mist.

Bright are her eyes and her gentle face,
Fair 'neath the skies, with an elven grace.
Here turns her gaze, her regard unblinking.
Breath here is caught, for her eyes are twinkling.
A Silvan arrow the maiden's gift.
