Hello, hello. I heard about this site from a friend and have decided to join after being supremely disappointed by most other roleplay forums or outlets.

The name, as you may be able to tell, is Caleb. I'm 20 years old, I live in South Carolina, and I'm studying political science, as a possibility to become a professor of the subject, and editing, with the hopes of being able to author books/ write for comics, screenplays, etc. Of course, over the course of the last three years of college, I've gone from wanting to be an animator, and going to a pretty esteemed school for the subject, to what I am now, so who knows? It'll likely still change at least one more time, though I certainly hope not. Insofar as hobbies, I play guitar (or at least try,) read (comics to actual novels... remember those?,) and write. Oh, yes, and bicker with crotchety old men over politics in other forums.

Details... eh, well, my favorite guitars are Telecasters, my favorite bands are scattered across several genres, so I won't go there. My favorite comics are the Archie Sonic the Hedgehog series, Y the Last Man, and The Walking Dead. My favorite novels are Childhood's End, The Metamorphosis, Faust, and The Fountainhead. I write mostly my own sci-fi stories as well as the scattered fanfictions (although my fanfics are usually parodies of fanfiction.) And as far as politics go, I tend to keep that to myself in circumstances where it's not necessarily an issue.

I've been doing RPs on and off for around eight years now, starting when I was 12 years old. Back then, it was much more chat-based, so I'm usually pretty quick to post and respond if I'm really into what's going. My preferences usually lie in the sci-fi/ fantasy RPs, but I'm certainly pretty handy in realistic RPs, handy enough at least. I like to think I'm particularly good at coming up with clever twists and turns for my characters, though I do honestly tend to play off the qualities of my surrounding characters in the development of my own. It's my way of adapting one character to several possible circumstances.

I think it's pretty. :3 But I'm also not too big a fan of animated avatars myself, only because I'll be trying to read something or a role-play post, and my eyes will keep going back to the avatar to watch it, and then I'll lose my place! XD Lol.
