Ok. I couldn't just put this in the title for fear of a terrible outlashing. However I have been contemplating putting a HALO universe roleplay together. [awaits beatings and laughter]

No, no, no. Don't jump the gun and exit just yet. No, this will not be something involving the events with 'Master Chef', as I like to call him. I was never a fan of the video games... Though the lore is preetty cool... So, that gave me inspiration to put together a Military Themed Roleplay, trying to make this as engaging as possible without getting too far out there.

Regardless, I don't want to stray from my point. I am wanting to put together a campaign here. I want to set up an ODST fireteam, not the genetically and mechanically enhanced SPARTANS or whatever....What about real humans? What about the struggles and heroism, bravery, cowardice, honor, and integrity, of a group of [albeit highly trained] humans?

Anyhow, I'm not even thinking about bringing the Alien Covenant into the role play, at least not until later. I'm talking about Human on Human contact. At least at first. Some insurrectionist flashpoint conflict before a big Covenant attack on a planet called Harvest. [Halopedia has became my friend in the past 3 hours. I don't have a big knowledge of the universe, i've only played a few games, and have not read the novels. So i may need some help from those of you that 'have'.] A drawn out engagement to sort of start people out in some action, then drop it lower key to get some serious role-playing, then action again... Followed by the Conflict on the planet Harvest, where the Alien Covenant strike again, 'glassing' the surface [blasting it from orbit, i think]. They'd maybe help with some evacuation of civilian personnel, and some stranded military, CASEVAC, etc.

what do you guys think? I can put together a skeleton/rough outline of events for direction, but i'd really like some help if i could get it. I plan to try and make this a realistic storyline. I don't know how far that gets in a Sci-Fi world, but i think you get my meaning. I want to try and capture some realistic elements here of difficult choices, valor, honor, duty, loyalty, and stuff like that.

I'm sold on the idea, as long as I get to be an ODST. I always liked Helljumpers better than SPARTANs, mainly because they were the badasses before the SPARTANs stole the spotlight.

anyhow, I want to get this snowballing a little bit. I am going to try to steer this away froma typical HALO video game style, and 'actually' focus on relationships between the characters, and the teamwork, problem solving, and stuff like that. I'm not sure how the novels did it, but i'm sort of excited to put something together.

PM me after a while, if you want to spitball story ideas. I've got a few in mind but i'm more than willing to hear you out.

Mmm...a Halo-based roleplay? I'm in. Probably an ODST would be better. Being more mortal and all. Gives people more room to express what's going on when the going gets rough.
