I thought I would use this thread to keep people updated about when I'm going to be away from FOG instead of cluttering the forum with a bunch of short threads.

I won't be around much this weekend. I'm leaving tonight to drive back home for the weekend, volunteer at my old internship for their Halloween events, and spend every spare minute hanging out with my crush. We're both doing the volunteer work, so we're pretty much spending the entire weekend together (minus me sleeping at my house). Sooooooo exciiiiiiiited!!!! Needless to say, if you see me on here too much, give me a kick in the rear and say, "Get off FOG!!!!" Be back late Sunday night!

And so the arrow is shot from the elven bow of immaculate craftsmanship and takes flight into the swirling mists of the ancient forest...

Hey, all! I just wanted to let you know that I won't be around much next week. I'm leaving Monday at midnight for a research cruise and won't be back until Thursday afternoon. I'll be doing fieldwork pretty much the whole time and won't have cell reception or internet access, and chances are highly likely I won't be in any shape to do much other than sleep when I get back.

Anyway, I especially wanted to let the staff know that I'll be away. Ghost Writer, do the global mod job proud while I'm gone!

Halloween events?? That sounds awesome! I always wanted to volunteer to help out with haunted houses for Halloween (though I'm not sure if that's what you're going to be doing), but I just never have time. Maybe if I were younger and didn't have to work full-time. I just love Halloween!

I hope you have a great time and you and your man get to spend some good quality time together. ^_^ We'll still be here when you get back.

@Fate: Are you referring to my first post or the second? The first post was back during Halloween of 2010. I'm just using one thread for my comings and goings so I don't clutter the absence/return page. But anyway, I'm definitely going to spend some time with my boyfriend when I get back because we won't have cell reception on the boat and I know we're both going to miss staying in regular contact during the week.

Aaaaand...I'm back in action! The boat trip was fantastic, except for the one morning where I was seasick... But anyway! I saw some awesome things scuba diving, ate some delicious seafood, and got some great field experience. I'm trying to get caught up with my FoG stuff today. My activity will be limited this weekend because I'll be running between a bunch of swing dance events and a friend's birthday party with my boyfriend, but I'll check in when I get a chance!

Aaaaaand...another absence update from the Silvan! It's a busy summer!

I'm taking a much-overdue long weekend to go snorkeling in Florida with my boyfriend and visit his grandma - yay for free lodging! We're leaving tomorrow afternoon and coming back Sunday. I'll probably start catching up on email Sunday night and respond to anything urgent on Monday. After that, I'm going to be out at sea on another research cruise from Tuesday to Thursday afternoon. Things will settle down for a while after that, thankfully, so I'll be back in action full swing.

I am leaving tomorrow morning for a swing dance exchange and will not return until Monday. I think I'm all caught up with my RPs, so hopefully I'll have lots of new posts to read when I get back! I won't have my laptop, but I'll be able to view the site and write short posts (non-IC of course) on my phone if necessary.

I am currently without my laptop due to having to send it to the shop for repairs. I've been making do with the computer lab at school, but I'll be relying mostly on my phone for internet access this weekend. I apologize in advance to all the people in my current RPs. Hey everyone,

As you may have noticed, I haven't been around as much as usual. September was crazy with graduate school and personal stuff. I busted my butt to put together a presentation for our annual research colloquium in between having my guy in town for a week. And now I'm having a bunch of logistical issues with my research - the boats keep breaking, and people aren't fixing them fast enough! Needless to say, my muse has been MIA for a bit.

All that aside, I'm terribly sorry that I've let my moderator duties and RPs slack, and I'm trying to get myself back into the swing of things. I've got a bunch of new members to greet, RP posts to write, and news in general to discover about what's been happening here at FoG.

So...I guess this is a "return to more active duty" notice? Yeah, let's go with that
