Escape from Desperazione Village- Hisoka/Ruu Empty Escape from Desperazione Village- Hisoka/Ruu

This is the official thread for the RP!

Escape From Desperazione Village:
A large village once ruled over by a the just King Agamemmnon and his loving family. It knew nothing but happiness and prosperity under its monarch’s rule. It’s fields produced bountiful harvests and its farmers were strong, well versed in their chosen craft. The merchants of the town were skillful and cunning in their dealings so that their king never lacked for gold, which he spent on the villagers to increase their happiness. The soldiers, chosen from the strongest of his peasants were a formidable force so that the people were safe from all threats of invaders and conquerors. Desperazione was as close to paradise as any those still among the living had any right to enjoy.

But the joy of life angers those inclined to darkness and evil and so it was with Diablo, King of Demon kind. Coming to the court of the King in disguise, Diablo soon was a trusted advisor of the King and was in his deepest confidence. And using this position he soon whispered poison in the monarch’s ears. Pride was fed till it became a beast within the King’s Heart, lies and deception were seeded. And under these the King came to view the neighboring kingdom of Forcinth with distrust and anger, believing them to be the source of misdeeds and crimes against his own kingdom.

Marshaling his troops together this once peaceful King went to war. The march of soldiers feet seemingly obscene echoing in the peaceful lands of his kingdom. With tear filled farewells the army for the first time marched as invaders towards an enemy they held no hate for. Flapping banners and snorting horses underscoring everything as the soldiers left their homes and lives to answer their King’s call.

Although their hearts were set against this battle their duty compelled them. For the King had won it through birth, kindness, and wisdom. Their steps took them to the border of that innocent nation were battle was joined. Though they fought bravely, fought with all the skill in their bodies it was for naught. The army was slaughtered; few were the soldiers that made it back home. And most telling of all the King who had let pride and deception guide his actions was slain, killed by a swift arrow that had pierced his heart.

Without a King to lead them the villagers were as sheep without a shepherd, at first. But soon as no messenger came from the Castle to tell them to report to the Crown Prince’s coronation anarchy came to fall over the town. For they felt as if the royalty no longer wished to govern them, so needs be they must govern themselves. But the people although well versed in their chosen crafts and professions were not leadership material. And it often came to blows to settle disputes, but pride being what it is this only made things worse. Soon violence, pride, anger, greed, lust, sin itself came to govern these people. And it was not only the villagers that had let sin govern them; the royal family had too succumbed to its call. The Queen, a woman renowned for her beauty and grace came to be vain and self centered. She came to view her own beauty as the pinnacle of perfection and soon secluded herself from the affairs of this world. Her last words to an audience were that a Goddess does not dwell amongst mortals. The Crown Prince, a swordsman of some skill became angry often challenging others to duels. Much of the royal furnishings damaged in his rages and many servants driven off as a result. His sister the princess lost herself in denial, even going so far as to hold one-sided conversations with the Crown Prince as he raged around her. She told herself and others lies just to cope. The youngest, the other prince, became quite prone to tears, especially when he was denied something, his mother only exacerbating the case by spoiling him. He became frightened and almost all the time, terrified that his family was being harmed by malicious demons.

The Gods however watched it all with growing concerns, for they were ever vigilant in their sentry of the world.Ulike, god of wrath and just anger, he whose symbol is the sun, proclaimed this kingdom and it’s people cursed by the gods. Though disapproving of Diablo’s ways Ulike knew the King had gone willing to war and so gave the Demon King free reign of the kingdom to do as he wished. The sole exception to this were those truly innocent were protected from the wrath of his demonic legions. Talon god of Balance, he whose symbol is the scale, proclaimed the punishment merely part of the balance of divinity and existence. But Clementia goddess of Mercy, she whose symbol is the full moon, begged for mercy for the people who soon would be demons playthings. Ulike relented only slightly, as he told Diablo the truly innocent were to be safe from demonic wrath so he told his fellow deity. Those who could conquer their sins would be spared from the demons. So Clementia set to work, first the Edict of the Gods was made known to those dwelling within Desperazione village. Secondly to aid them in their battle to conquer their sins Clementia as the mother of magic gifted some of those combatants with minor magics, mainly healing so that they could live long enough to conquer sin. Third she crafted the soul stone spell and cast upon all within the village. It would be their greatest weapon against demon kind. For each time they conquered their sin they gained a symbol upon their chest above their hearts. Each symbol held the power to repel demon kind, and should five be etched upon one’s breast even Diablo could not harm you. But one symbol would disappear if you gave into your sin. Those already innocent such as children were granted a full soul stone. Those possessing a full soul stone could protect those near them from all but the strongest demons and Diablo.

And so now these villagers stand trapped in their battle to conquer sins. Demons torment them every moment, never granting death but only torture although some are killed through sheer pain and blood loss. For the demons the loss of one plaything means little and so the torture goes on. The temple, with its altars to the gods has become the last refugee of the villagers. The few soldiers that lived through the war pray to Ulike for he is their patron, the diplomats who fled the Crown Prince’s wrath pray to Talon for he is their patron. And those mothers holding children pray to Clementia, for the mercy she is the epitome of. Will their prayers be answered, will they conquer their sins? Or will they become little more then demonic playthings, hoping death will eventually take them?

Escape from Desperazione Village- Hisoka/Ruu Empty Re: Escape from Desperazione Village- Hisoka/Ruu

Major Characters ( to be edited as needed)

Vossler Friedan(played by Hisoka): A man who's true origins are known only by him this man stands at 5 feet 11 inches with dense muscle packed onto his body. His skin is heavily tanned and crossed with scars of various shapes and sizes. His shoulder length blond hair frames a face of high cheekbones and emerald green eyes that seem to glow. A strong and square jaw lend him a handsome appearance although the intense look in those green eyes puts off most.

He wears armor engraved with runes and patterns that mark it as truly ancient. Yet despite this ancient design the half-plate armor is in remarkable shape, those runes and engravings the only clue to it's true age. Of a dark gray hue the armor has a rippling pattern much like the surface of water.

Strapped to his back is a great-sword, it too is of obvious ancient design but it is blood red, shining with an almost crystal hue. It's edge cuts through the air with a whistling keening not unlike that of a hawk.

Where this Vossler comes from is unknown save to him and he does not speak of such things. He has come to this village quite by accident apparently to hear him tell of it. But his swordsmanship and utter fearlessness are quite welcomed by the over worked soldiers that remain of their King's army. Although he knows his interference with the village and it's demons has put him in grave danger Vossler seems not to care. Maybe partly in due to the fact his marital skill has seen him dispatch pretty much every demon thrown against him. In any case the wandering swordsman seems content to help the villagers with their battle against their sins and demonkind.

Possesses Divine Aura- A blessing of Ulike surrounds Vossler granting nearby allies the ability and skill to fight demons if their will to do so is strong enough to overcome their fear.

Currently does not have a soul stone due to the fact he is not a villager or part of the royal estate.

Queen Cassandra: Late wife to King Agamemnon she is the ruling figure at the moment as the Crown Prince has yet to undergo his coronation. However this is merely for formality's sake as she is doing very little ruling at the moment. Once famed for her beauty and grace the woman has become vain.

Possessing a tall and regal demeanor her vanity shows in the flashy clothing and jewelry she wears as a matter of pride it seems. Slender and well curved it is no mystery why she is considered amongst the most beautiful of women. Blond hair the color of woven gold highlights eyes the same color as a cool summer morning sky.

Possesses Water Magic: Queen Cassandra has limited control over the element of water.

Currently does not possess a soul stone due to the fact she has yet to conquer her sin of vanity

Crown Prince Achilles: The heir to King Agamemnon's throne he is a eighteen swordsman of renown. Once a noble prince Achilles has let his rage over the loss of his father overcome his nobility. The result is a man who's fury is legendary. Has dreams of saving his people despite his rage however.

Well built and tall with well defined musculature the Crown prince radiates a sense of physical strength along with the mental discipline that has seen him master the blade. Dressing simply given his station the Crown Prince stands out amongst the vain nobility. Around his neck is a gold circle that is the mark of his status as prince. His jet black hair, which is the same color as his father, frames a face set with piercing green eyes.

Possesses Fire Magic: Achilles has minor control over the element of fire, a fitting power given his anger.

Currently does not possess a soul stone due to the fact he has yet to conquer his sin of unjust anger.

Princess Minerva(Played by Ruu) : The second child of King Agamemnon Minerva has inherited some of her mother's beauty and her father's green eyes. Once a carefree princess Minerva has lost herself in denial to escape the horrors wrought by Achilles's anger and the demons.

Slight and short Minerva is very childlike physically almost to the point of being somewhat of a doll like fragility. Her most defining physical feature would be her chestnut hair, a odd sight given Achilles and Agamemnon's black hair and Cassandra's blond hair. Dressing simply like Achilles she to does stand out amongst the nobility.

Possesses Water Magic: Minerva has a limited control over the element of water using it to mostly heal.

Currently possesses a full soul stone due to the fact she is still an innocent child and her denial is not used in a sinful manner.

Prince Jason(Played by Ruu) : The youngest child of King Agamemnon's he is a child of five years old. Considered a handful at best he is rather unpopular with the castle staff, whats left of them anyways. A somewhat spoiled brat Jason tends to throw childish tantrums when things don't go his way. Given his age it is questionable if he understands the full weight of what has happened to his kingdom.

Possesses Light Magic: Jason has limited control over the element of Light.

Currently possesses a full soul stone due to the fact he is an innocent child.

Diablo(NPC): The King of Demon kind he is the mastermind behind the events that gave him and his legions infinite rule of the Kingdom. A master of confusion and strife he is wily and has a demonic capacity for cruelty. The strongest of demon kind it will take a divine miracle for any to defeat him in battle.

~They look great! I'll send the list of Royal Family members again and the physical descriptions. I can play the youngest Prince and the Princess, but the Queen and Achilles can be NPCs. And villagers are fine. I may make a Knight or priest or something as well. We also need to decide if Diablo will be an NPC or if either one of us wants to play him.

~Looks great! And yes, the Queen has command over water magic. Prince Jason has command over Light.

And you don't have to apologize. No worries. I'm just glad everything's okay!

Alright we got most of the character issues ironed out, we are in agreement over the origin material, we are also on agreement on the geography of Desperazione. Anything else?

Hey Ruu I've been meaning to ask why do you keep spelling it Vassler, it is spelled Vossler. It is even spelled Vossler in the post listing all the characters.

Ooops, I really apologize Hisoka! I went back and changed my posts to the correct spelling. I don't know why I saw an "a" instead of an "o." My mind is just about fried right now. XD Just two weeks of student teaching left, thank goodness!

I should have a post up within the next few days. I can't wait til summer when I'll have plenty of time to post.
