Dragonflights RP Interest Check
Alright, so I have had this idea back when I was Rp'ing on the WoW forums, which was awhile ago...
Basically, it is very simple. It happens in the World of Warcraft universe and the Cataclysm (The games new expansion) has happened. With that, the prime villan, Deathwing, has returned, etc. Basically, we fast-forward to Catacylsm. And, simply enough, we have to kick Deathwing's butt.
So the Dragonflights, who are 5 groups of different types of dragons of which their leaders (also patriarchs/matriarchs) were infused with parts of the Titan's power (Titan's being they who created the world.... of warcraft), to guard and protect the world of chaos, etc. Although you will not be able to play individually the Aspects (that is what we call the leaders of the Dragonflights), they will probably appear in the Rp, depending on what happens. You can, however, play any of the mortal races, if you prefer. I once had a Dragon hunter with dragons who infiltrated the group. That was alot of fun.
A mortal being having a dragon companion is untolerable due to the ego of the dragons in this universe unless they are simply friends and equals. No dragon pets.
So here is a quick explanation of the Dragonflgihts. There are 5 different groups, the reds, greens, blues, bronze and the blacks.
- The red dragonflight, ruled by the Dragonqueen, Alexstrasza, is a noble and honorable group of creatures. They consider themselves the protectors of all life, and in many ways they are. More often than not, they are found protecting sacred areas and items, seeking to keep them from lesser beings who might be hurt by their energies. Their breath is a fearsome stream of fire, and they have been known to swallow enemies whole and slowly digest them over the course of a day. Their most hated enemies are the black dragons ruled by the great, dark leviathan, Deathwing. They are the typical goodguy badasses. (http://www.wowwiki.com/Red_dragonflight)
- The blue dragonflight, ruled by Malygos, the lord of magic, was all but devastated by the evil Deathwing and his black dragonflight. Though there are few great blue dragons left in the world, their magical powers are awesome to behold. Native to Northrend, the few blues stay relatively close to the great Dragonblight, where they commune with the ancient dragon spirits who died in ages past. Their freezing breath and gargantuan claws have been the death of many hapless travelers in Northrend. They are the typical crazy, patriotic who doesn't have a home or leader. They are very nostalgic. Wait, how is that typical...(http://www.wowwiki.com/Blue_dragonflight)
- The enchanted, ethereal green dragons live only to serve the forces of nature and uphold the balance between mortal creatures and the ever-evolving world. The green dragonflight, ruled by the dreaming goddess, Ysera, holds a special love for the night elves and their druids. Though most green dragons live within the mystical dimension known as the Emerald Dream, a few of the graceful creatures still roam the shadowy paths of Ashenvale forest. They are the classic relaxed, wise, and venerable dragon. (http://www.wowwiki.com/Green_dragonflight)
- The stoic bronze dragonflight, ruled by Nozdormu the Lord of Time, were charged long ago as the wardens of Azeroth's timelines. Bronze dragons police the timeways, protecting them from interlopers, restoring them to their proper place, and maintaining the balance of time. When not traveling through the passageways of the Caverns of Time, they can most often be found in deserts and other dry arid lands such as the Tanaris desert and The Barrens of Central Kalimdor. They are your typical, typical intelligent, badass, somewhat snobby dragon. (http://www.wowwiki.com/Bronze_dragonflight)
- Though the black dragonflight (and/or slightly purple ) was nearly annihilated in ages past, a few of the evil creatures have made their homes in the dry, desolate wastes of The Barrens. With their lord, Deathwing, either missing or dead, the black dragons seek to appease only themselves. The creatures are immensely powerful and cruel and revel in mortal suffering. The black dragons are the enemies of every other dragonflight, especially the great red dragons. They used to be the most majestic of the flights, none equalled their presence and 'Aviator glasses' coolness. Then they turned sour. There are still some who cling to the Flight's old ways. (http://www.wowwiki.com/Black_dragonflight)
Just a side-note on the black dragonflight; if you choose to play them, you will probably be on Deathwing's side or you can choose to be the rare, few blacks that are still good.
There is a brief summary of the dragonflights taken from Wowwiki.com. If you wish to learn more about any individual dragonflight, click on the links below each description.
