Hello all, my name, as you might have suspected, is Valuedrop. I got linked to these forums some time ago from another RPG site (gaiaonline, if you know it), but didn't have a lot of time to check it out, so I sorted it away for later. Flash forward a year (give our take a few months), and I came back to gaia after a long hiatus and found the site to be unappealing for various reasons. Sooo..... I dug the link back up and found your site =)

I gotta say, I really like it. There are some talented people here, and I'm pretty exited.

Just a couple questions....bare with me <.<

First, I am used to how things work on gaia, so far as how threads/stories are handled and such; thus I'm not to sure how things are handled here. Anyone want to give me a quick heads up on how various things are handled here? Anything I should keep in mind before I start applying to roleplays?

Alright, so I am going to try and answer your question with absolutely zero prior knowledge of what a 'Gaia' is.

Basically, there are three kinds of RP on this site; Casual, Advanced and One-on-One.

Casual is where most people like to start out. Why? Why because its Casual! You don't have a strict posting minimum, speed, etc. and is a fun, rather laid-back experience.

Advanced is where you go when your feeling 'leet. Or just want to take the next step. Advanced is where your pushed to bigger, more complex and deep posting. It is another fun experience where you push yourself and improve the fastest. Then again, everywhere is fun!

One-on-one is... well... one-on-one. RPs between two people can differ from being very casual to the more advanced setting. Not much more to say on this.

As for joining an RP, it is very simple. Just go onto one of the threads and browse the Interest Checks and OOC, maybe read up on the RP if it is already started and apply. Voila! Fait accompli!

P.S. Don't forget to come and indulge in the thick smog of the communities nutzuzyness in Chat and all.

It's really incredible you still remembered us after so long, but I'm glad you did!

I've never personally role-played over on Gaia before, so I'm not sure I can really compare and contrast things here to things there, but perhaps your question was already answered by someone. What could really help too is just looking around at our OOC and Interest Check forums and then the actual role-plays themselves, and that could give you a better hint. Let us know if you have any other questions during your stay here!

I don't know if I understood your question differently, but I'll expand on the answer.

In the event that you want to post your own RP, these are the steps:
1) Write an interesting Interest Check and post it in the appropriate Interest Check sub-forum.
2) When some interest is garnered write an OOC or copy the Interest Check and post it in the appropriate OOC sub-forum.
3) When all characters are up and all else you need. You write a super good () Introduction post for your IC. Then you go to the appropriate IC sub-forum and...you guessed it! Post it!
4) Wait for all your companions to reply, then write another awesome post and post it in the appropriate thread in the appropriate IC sub-forum.

Do I like the word appropriate? Was it an appropriate use of the word? Did I use it the appropriate amount of times?

Welcome to FOG, Valuedrop! Sorry I'm rather late to the welcome wagon! Anyway, don't mind these crazies *bashes Kalon, Dax, and Gunneh on the head*. Actually, we're all pretty psychotic, so take this as a handy preview of the benefits you can enjoy from hanging around the swirling mists.
