Hello
Hey there, I thought I might pop over to this fine place and make an account. So just a quick intro, I'm James, or some on the internet know me as Agro from my days on the WoW RP board. I'm one of the co-creators of A Writer's Recluse, a similar writing forum that Fate found her way to. There was a little chatter of possible inter-forum writing competitions, which I think is a great idea, so I'm here if anyone want to discuss that.
Beside A Writer's Recluse, I am a somewhat patriotic Brit who is living in somewhat self-imposed exile in New Zealand (what can I say, 18,000 for a double degree in Law and a BA in NZ or 20,000 for just a Law degree in the UK.) Also I've been a keen storyteller since before I could write, and I'm now working on my first novel, The Rise of the Pendragon, the first in a 3-4 book series entitled the Matter of Britain. If anyone like to read more of it, you can find my blog at:
jrerowland.weebly.com
Also you can find the entire prologue to the book (unedited) here:
http://jrerowland.weebly.com/prologue.html
Anyway I don't think there's much else to say. If you want to talk about that inter-writing competition idea some more, just drop me a word either here or at AWR, Fate. I'll keep an eye open.
...
Hmm, maybe that wasn't such a short introduction.
Cheerio then.
*tips hat*

Re: Hello
Hey there, JRERowland (or James). I am still very interested in organizing a writing competition between our boards, and I had just PM Taed about it as well.
New Zealand!? And you're British? XD I am so jealous! New Zealand is where we'd like to go for our honeymoon. It's like my dream! That's so great too that you are saving money there as well for your degree in law and a BA. Do you have any photos from there?
Wow, and yet another thing for me to be envious about! Congratulations on working toward publishing a book series. That's really nice too that you have the entire prologue up on your site. I'm definitely going to have to read it (when I'm more awake). Thanks for sharing, and best of luck with it all!!
Taed mentioned that AWR is currently holding its own competition, so we'd be having this one afterward, as I understand it. It might be easier for me to talk with just one person about it to represent AWR, so that way I don't have to keep repeating myself and asking the same questions, lol.

Re: Hello
Hey! Welcome to FoG!
Interforum writing competition sounds super spiffy
Yes, the cheaper degree is completely worth it. Plus getting to live in another country = priceless! Can't wait for the novel, I'll definitely be picking up a copy when it comes out.
Enjoy your stay in the fog

Re: Hello
Welcome to the site, I look forward to seeing you around.
Though it seems you're busy with a site of your own, so perhaps you won't be visiting us very often.

Welcome to FoG, James.
I hope you enjoy it here, and I hope you're around more than it seems you may be with a site of your own to administrate.

Re: Hello
See, when he says "somewhat patriotic Brit" you know he's talking about Britain, which means he is NOT a Scot.
We'll get along fine. Just keep your god damn tea and remember that it's called SOCCER and everything will be peachy. *brandishes a double-barreled shotgun*

Actually... It was originally called football, so that's the rightful term. Americans simply have a tendency to be stupid...

Fluffy dear, ~*picks up, tucks under arm and pets gently*~ Fate gave you to me, but only with the promise I'd handle you responsibly. So... what are you doing out here?
*looks about the thread a bit nervously* He didn't leave any messes, did he?

Ouchie! Don't bite me! I don't want to become infected! And I'm not bald. :: sniffles :: I have a lot of hair... in fact... it's grown so long and full that it has taken a mind of it's own, and it does what it pleases.

*gives an e-cookie*
My correction of soccer to football, my use S instead of Z and my love of cricket is what AWR probably know me for. Also on the Scot issue, I'm half Scottish and the rest English, so I'm a Unionist Well, besides pretending that Wales doesn't exist.
Also New Zealand is a really great country, to look at anyway. I sometimes don't meet eye to eye with the NZ attitude of 'She'll be right." But I have little pockets of Britain to keep me sane, my girlfriend, direct family and my (to the plug sockets) British room. But yes, very beautiful country. If you decide to go to it for a honeymoon, Fate, try and get around the whole country. Sixty miles long beaches in the north, snowy mountains in the south.
Yep, AWR Writing Cup is down to its final four...although I think only one person actually made the deadline so I'm not sure what's going on there. I'll talk to Taed about which one of us will help organise....I'll probably kick him off the job since it was originally my brain baby
Also any reviews on the prologue, would be greatly appreciated and loved. There's quite a few mistakes in there (I tend to not edit until I'm done and therefore yeah, mistakes) but hopefully it's good.
Cheers for the nice welcome, guys and gals!
