Day 1: Confusion.
It was just an average day, just a normal lazy afternoon. Everyone who was using their blackberries, iPhones, laptops, or ancient computers, anyone who had a phone to their ear, or a finger to a keyboard, anyone who was chatting, texting, sexting, pixting, Skyping, tweeting, emailing, talking on a phone, or anything of the sort saw a painfully bright flash. That wasn't normal.
It was insanely bright, blindingly bright. Looking-into-the-sun-with-nightvision-goggles bright. Megaton-nuke-at-arms-length bright. It was really, really damned bright. Everyone felt queasy, suddenly seasick. That wasn't normal either.
Of course, it could be chalked up to a power surge, or something like that. The queasiness passed, and no one noticed that about two billion people had just been added to their planet. That definitely wasn't normal. Small towns were now bustling metropolises, busting metropolises were now Gigopolises. New York City was massive, incredibly huge now. So were all the other major cities. But then again, if everyone saw it, and everyone didn't know how to explain it, maybe it was a weird dream. That many people couldn't just... Appear, could they?
And it wasn't just new people. New companies, new schools, new buildings, new states, new landmasses, new everything. The world had just suddenly... Grown. Explosively. The people of Earth went to bed, terrified and confused.
Day 2: War
They woke up, the citizens of Earth. Some of them had new children in their homes. Others had new homes. Suddenly, homeless people had sparkling new cars. middle-class familes had swimming pools in their front lawns. One famliy awoke to find a beached whale in their Kansas living room. It was weird.
At 11:21, it happened. Every TV turned on, every computer and digital device suddenly connected to the internet. Everything was focused on only one place: An arial view of New York City.
At 11:22, something else happened. There was a soft, audible "whoomph" of air filling a vacant space. New York City was a crater, hundreds of miles wide.
Just, gone. No explosion, no fireworks, no anything but that dreadful sound of air replacing where had once been a city. No one knew what to say, no one knew how to breathe for a moment.
It was just impossible. This had to be a dream, a fantasy. Even a Megaton nuke wouldn't leave that huge a crater. And there hadn't. Been. A. Flash.
Every screen in the world, every radio buzzed with the same message:
Welcome to the Internet. Prepare to die, hostiles.

This is a co-GMed thread by Chainlinc3 and I. It's very immersive, and will have many plotline switches/HOLYSHIT moments. Of course, this is ambiguous, because if we showed our hand right away, what would be left to surprise you

Hey I know I'm already involved in Xenophobia, but I could be interested too. I don't want to take on too much as once, but this sounds really interesting too!
