Covers
A thread to share really good, interesting, amusing, or just general “worth watching” versions of cover songs. I request everyone keep from getting into arguments over which version of this or that song is better. Covers are not meant to out do the original artists, but for the band to play a song in their own way and/or to pay tribute to an artist the respect or simply because they love the song.
First up, Over the Hills and Far Away by Gary Moore off the Wild Frontier album.
Two different covers:
From the Over the Hills and Far Away EP by Nightwish
Bonus track of Urkraft by Thyrfing

Re: Covers
Hmm. Covers, eh?
Well, I'm not so much a fan of covers generally, because I feel as if a lot of them are trying to out-do the original instead of pay tribute. But there are quite a few out there that are worth the listen to, especially if a person enjoys music.
The first one that comes to mind is:
"I Fought the Law"
originally by Sonny Curtis and the Crickets"
I believe... There are a crazy amount of covers of it, I'm sure. I know of these artists who made their own covers:
Bobby Fuller Four
The Clash
The Dead Kennedys
Green Day
Mike Ness (Social Distortion)
Even the man himself, Johnny Cash, covered it.
But there are a lot more covers of it. I just don't know the specifics.
