Sarcophagus Cradle
((RP between Hermione and myself))
Long ago, in the old land of Egypt, far before any other empire rose to a challenger against its supremacy over the ancient world, there ruled a king with an iron fist. He was the newest of a great dynasty, the first ever true dynasty in the land. His name was Pharaoh Anubis, and he and his ancestors would be so revered as to be canonized as gods by future generations in Egypt. Anubis, specifically, would become the God of Death, for he was the last in the line and with him died the dynasty.
The fall of Anubis and of Egypt's global kingdom, which spanned from Europe to Asia and crept to the northern tip of America, is unknown. Many believe that a rebellion occurred, or perhaps that Anubis simply never married or had children. His tomb has never been found, though it is out there, hidden among in the sands.
But one thing is for certain. Anubis was not like his ancestors, who were simply canonized. No, Anubis went the extra mile to become more than a god in Egyptian religion. He aimed to become the god of the world.
Years later, in 1925, an expedition would set out in the shadow of Carter's success with King Tutankhamun's tomb to uncover more in the desert of Egypt. Though they were tipped off at a location said to be the location of a vast crypt filled with servants and high-ranking officials of King Tut's court, what they would find would be a single, hollow stone slab with the Egyptian symbol that screamed "God" in the face of the archaeologists. The find, while certainly disappointing at first, would yield far more than what they would have wanted.
