( Yeah the thing is in basketball a team usually regains possession by fouling the other teams center resulting in a free throw. And most centers can't hit free throws even in the NBA there are very few centers that can sink free throws because as a center you train more on the physical aspect of your game because your role as a center is to mix it up. I think Yao Ming is the only center in the NBA that can sink free throws with any regularity.)

( Half my career points in high school came from dunking. Besides shooting is at best a risky option. Best case you score 3 points, middle case you miss but your center or power forward gets the rebound and a dunk or perhaps a 2 pointer if lucky. Worst case you just lost possession of the ball. In the end dunking is a more surefire way of scoring consistent points especially if you got a good center. It's not fancy but fancy doesn't always win the game.)

I'm not saying dunking is bad. If you score, you score. Can't win if you don't score. First rule of any game, in my book. ( You know you may be right. I was voted league MVP every year I played. All though I did actually shoot the ball and not just dunk. All though all the game winners I scored were dunks and they bloody school paper nicknamed me the Leaping Mount and. I wasn't even captain yet they gave the tall guy all the attention cause I could dunk every time I got near the net
As for the girl thing I don't know. The girl's team, had this one player we all called the It, cruel I know. But she hardly looked like her gender, she even sounded like a guy. And had almost as much muscle as I do and I work out 3 hours a day. if she wasn't using steroids I'll eat my shoes. but anyways She could dunk like there was no tomorrow. She couldn't shoot to save her life but her ball handling was second to none. catch any pass and then dunk it like it was no one's business. wouldn't be surprised to see her playing in the the woman's professional league.)

But where I grew up, no one dunks as a girl.
