Flesh Eaters OOC Empty Flesh Eaters OOC

A new disease has gotten out, slowly eating away at the victims flesh and brain. Slowly as their mind and body decay, they loose controls, reverting back to a barbaric way of thinking, looking at everything else, even sometimes one another, as food.

They'll use anything as a weapon, normally ripping themselves apart disregarding the pain, to make themselves more efficient at killing. As long as they get a meal, they don't care what happens to them. Their mind tells them that flesh and blood will ease the pain, moving it to a bearable level. This is mainly due to the fact that the virus does indeed feed on flesh, and more flesh in the stomach is a temporary relief.

Although the zombie population is still small, about 500, it's considered a major threat. They're too dispersed, however, to just nuke and leave. The government hasn't even been able to pinpoint them yet due to small groups of the creatures simply popping up, wiping out small groups of humans, then moving on.

Now, there are of course certain cities where it's known the zombies have been slowly infecting the people either from a scratch or coming in contact with an eaten corpse left behind after the meal. The story begins in one of these such places, a new victim of the plague slowly losing his mind as he prepares to attack a local store.

On the flip side, there are always those few talented people who decide to make it their job to find and hunt the infected for government proposed bounties, although they don't get government support. A group of these such people had heard of a zombie popping up in this area and come to the scene, looking for newly infected victims to hunt. The first thing they hear when arriving? The screams of a store owner as he receives his death, brought to him by the hands of one such monster. The hunters flip on their gas masks and prep their weapons, ready for a fight.

Please remember that these are, in all aspects, humans. Some zombies may have dense muscle allowing for them to be slightly stronger than the average human, but no super powers. Also, make the weapons realistic. This is 2010, don't expect a normal person without government funding, who's hunting Zombies to have access to helicopters and RPG's, etc.
