[Shades Of Gray]

I'm a fan of thieves, in case anyone hadn't noticed by now. And with this abundant amount of free time I've been finding myself with, and the want to write, I've stumbled upon another idea that's up for grabs^_^

Alright, here's how I imagine the story to take place. This isn't set in stone, it's a rough sketch and I'm always pleased with trading ideas and suggestions to adapt and come up with other alternatives. :3

Mazzi Churhold is a different kind of thief. "Deseption and misdirection are my tools. Why believe in hard work when a False Face and a good line of bullshit can do so much more," is her motto. She's the eigth child of so many, the daughter of a cruel noble man named Jaroche who allowed his servants to raise her, rather than spending effort or time himself, favoring the first born from his first wife, over those later from the second. Mazzi never loved her family, but this isn't a sob story about gaining a father's respect, or securing her name in the family's buisness. With her past, her resources, her experience and upbringing, Mazzi found herself wanting. She never had the fine things as all of her brothers and sisters recieved. She was often ignored, and that angered her more than anything. Starting young, she found a way to gain attention, though in a way that didn't put her in the spotlight directly. She started stealing things; a useless babble from her brother, a beloved diary from a wicked sister. Money, trinkets... it was thrilling, and she practised her skills on her siblings, the occational guests, and all those who were cruel to her.

But it wasn't enough. Mazzi wanted more, larger thrills, and more and more of her accomplishments became difficult, challenging, and evetually dangerous. Now, twenty four years old, living on her own, and away from her home city of Kai'siu, the False Facer finds herself with a reputation as the "Thorn." Over the years she hosted elaborate thefts, fooling the Noble houses and those who say themselves the 'betters'. Some families have gone broke, others found their reputations ruined, their lives undone, and contracts and bounties have been placed on her head for her capture.

Which brings Mazzi to an intruiging situation. She traveled to a city called Lorne, filled with the blue bloods and the blood of royal families, and an interesting challenge that has her carefully breaking into the home of a man. She didn't expect the trap, nearly escaped, and found herself facing a stranger who is also in the same trade as herself. His benifactor the "Spider" wants to have a word with her, and if she doesn't accept, then the guards would be called which would very likely mean her death. Having little choice, Mazzi agrees to meet with this "Spider" to hear his offer.

It turns out that the Spider wants to hire Mazzi for her services. An "Ancient" living in another city has an item of import that caught his interests. The two are forced to travel to the city in order to aquire the item indicated. Over time, watching their mark, and planning their move, they find that the item in question is something that is better left out of the hands of their Spider. Choosing to break the rules and risk their deaths, they instead contact the "ancient' and inform him of their previous intentions; as well as their new ones. Turns out that their new 'employeer', who is also welcoming the use of blackmail against them, may not be so altruistic himself, but in turn is the lesser of two evils.


If you're interested, I'm looking for someone to play the part of the second thief. They can be willingly working for the Spider, and have a change of heart; or blackmailed like Mazzi, though the choice is yours. If there's enough interest, someone can play the Part(s) of the Spider and the Ancient.

A note of thought: Origionally, my idea was to have the item the Spider is interested in a simple, useless babble. Maybe something from a long, forgotten kingdom that when surfaced again, could cause civil war. (Not quite sure how) I've also considered having this object a 'jewel' the size of a human head or so. This jewel would turn out to be a dragon's egg, and when they confront the "ancient" they go with him to return it to an island somewhere.... really, this story can go several directions, and it's open for debate. Give me your thoughts, lets brain storm! ^_^

Sign Me Up. . . . I can do anything you want me to here... Plus- that side character i was telling you about a sec ago... xD. But if someone wants to be Mazzi's partner, or you want someone else to do it, that's fine by me.^_^ I have plenty of clever ideas for my other character....

Looks really good, but I need a bit more info on the setting before I can commit to it. (I.E. is it Middle ages, Modern, futuristic, Cyberpunk etc.)

I've got to ask... what the hell is 'cyberpunk'? I've seen this around a few times, but never knew it was it was. And this is going to be more of a medieval age, magic exists but it's a rare thing that seldom happens anymore. Humans are the dominant species, but others are still out there. (The older species are in hidding, like Dragons, elves, etc.)

Officially Cyberpunk is

"Cyberpunk is a science fiction genre noted for its focus on "high tech and low life"... It features advanced science, such as information technology and cybernetics, coupled with a degree of breakdown or radical change in the social order."

To me it's a dystopian future where technology reigns. And it was usually controlled by "Big Brother" like governments.

And, SWEET I love this setting, middle-ages with hints of magic is my field of role play. Making character (As soon as I get done writing posts for other RP's X/ )

I'm fine with magic use: Though the world's magic is 'dying' so normally I'd say it would be...weaker. but! I'm always open for new suggestions and ideas Go for it. It'll make it easier for him to catch Mazzi; since magic is all but dead, it would certainly make it difficult for her to fight against it

Yeah I get that, not magic like FYRBAAL!! lol, I mean magic like maybe a flash, possible sleights of hand, protection spells, minor enchantments, reaction enhancements (maybe quickened senses, hightened agility, night vision etc.) that sort of thing you know?

Hope that intro was alright. I'll be honest: I've been side tracked these last few days, it's been kinda stressful and my creativity has withered a little. However, I did manage to get that bit out, and left it rather open for your character, Drunut. oops, sorry guys, didn't realize this was already all planned :/ The other couple of RP site ive tried my hand at have all had a "jump right in" policy and I guess this place hasn't. Feel free to delete my post, because looking at your planned storyline I don't think my character can be easily worked in.
