Game of Quotes
This game requires the use of quotes to carry on conversations/arguments/etc. The quotes can either be from famous people, movies, books, whatever. It doesn't matter. I will, however, ask that you at least tell us who said it, and state the source if it is from a movie or book. For example:
"She's lost the will to live? What, did you get your degree in poetry? You sorry bunch of hippies! Why don't we all just get on our knees and pray?"
Robot Chicken - Dr. Ball M.D.
Official quote to start the game:
"When the tongue or the pen is let loose in a frenzy of passion, it is the man, and not the subject, that becomes exhausted."
Rights of Man - Thomas Paine
Review of rules:
1. Must be a quote
2. Can be comical or serious, doesn't matter
3. Can be from anyone and from any medium, but please state who and where it is from
4. Must relate, in some fashion, to the quotation before yours.

Re: Game of Quotes
I can't believe no one responded to this prior. I happen to love quotations and never have a reason to use any of them.
"Laughter and tears are both responses to frustration and exhaustion. I myself prefer to laugh, since there is less cleaning up to do afterward."

“Life is not an easy matter... You cannot live through it without falling into frustration and cynicism unless you have before you a great idea which raises you above personal misery, above weakness, above all kinds of perfidy and baseness.”

It takes a clever man to turn cynic and a wise man to be clever enough not to.

“We are lonesome animals. We spend all our life trying to be less lonesome. One of our ancient methods is to tell a story begging the listener to say -- and to feel -- 'Yes, that's the way it is, or at least that's the way I feel it. You're not as alone as you thought.'”

Re: Game of Quotes
AH! That's my favorite quote, possibly ever.
"When his life was ruined, his family killed, his farm destroyed, Job knelt down on the ground and yelled up to the heavens, 'Why god? Why me?' and the thundering voice of God answered, 'There's just something about you that pisses me off.' "

"Yesterday all my troubles seemed so far away, now it looks as though they're here to stay. Oh, I believe in yesterday."
--The Beatles ("Yesterday")
This is actually one of my all time favorite Beatles songs!!! So glad I could used this quote! If you've never heard the song you have to listen to it. Just once. It's so pretty in my opinion.
