Hi!
Hello! It's never easy to make an introduction (I find it sort of awkward), but here I go! Furigana here, pupil fast approaching the liminality of having left school but not having started university. Hobbies? Er, well, listening to music (who doesn't from time to time?), anime and manga (though I'm useless at collecting it all and can name the series I've watched every episode of on about three fingers... ) and last but DEFINITELY not least, LANGUAGES! I cannot get enough of grammar, vocabulary and expressions and my goal in life is to achieve fluency in at least one language and pick up as much of as many other languages as possible...though I'm awfully and chronically lazy, so if I don't do it, I won't be surprised or annoyed.
Anyway, back on topic! I have had a bit of experience with forum-based text RPs in the past, but I'm not sure of either the quality of RPs I participated in then or my own quality, so I'm wary of joining any RPs in case I mess up or mess up the RP... (which reminds me, I have a problem with commas and hyphens- I tend to sprinkle them far too liberally over my writing and generally abuse them, so I am certainly open to criticism and advice about it!) Erm, where was I? Oh, right! Well, I don't have a particular favourite genre, but I am wary of steampunk as I consider myself completely uninformed about it and I wouldn't know how to carry it off...Oh, and I am wary of RPs set in any time period or setting that has guns, as again, I consider myself a n00b when it comes to knowledge of them...besides, fighting hand-to-hand takes more skill (and description!!)
Uh, that's it. Sorry for all the rambling and emoticons! (there is certainly a wide range of them, that's for sure! )

Re: Hi!
「ようこそ!」
Glad to have you on board!
I'm a bit lost for what to say in this welcome, since I already know you. I mean, we're talking on MSN right now, after all. [Strokes his goatee in quiet contemplation.]
Well, anyway, it's good to have you around. Be sure to drop into the chat room to get to know some of the others around here. Aside from that, just have fun!

Re: Hi!
Greetings, Furigana! Here’s some advice so that you don’t get lost in there. (Glad to meet another friend of Weiss. I comma splice too. It is a thing I am trying to get over.)
Welcome to Footsteps of Ghosts!
Check out our rules, etiquette and "What is FOG?" sections.
If you have any trouble using the forum itself, try the FAQ.
If you have any questions, our staff will be more than happy to assist you.
Take a moment to browse our fourms and perhaps find a role-play to your liking, a place to receive input on your works of literature or simply to converse with people of similar interests.

Re: Hi!
Hello! Thanks for the guidance, I look forward to getting involved with stuff here! (I forgot to mention, I also spam exclamation marks, but I promise that it reflects my excitability, if that's a word.)

Re: Hi!
Welcome to the community Furigana!
This place is pretty great and I hope to soon see you enjoying yourself about the boards!
It is probably a good idea to check the Interest Check forums in both the Casual and Advanced sections to see if there are any role plays which you may be interested in!

Re: Hi!
Hey there!
Welcome to Fog! We're a community of friendly people, who all love writing, and are looking to improve our own. I'm sure you'll fit right in. And while the rps can appear rather daunting at first, everyone here is very supportive and helpful.
As Weiss said, the chat is a great place to talk to your fellow foggers in real time, and get to know them. Another great place is our OOC forums, where you'll find a wide variety of topics ranging from the serious to down right silly.
Hmm...well, I do believe that that's all I have to say right now. So, I hope to see you around and possibly rp with you! Enjoy your stay in the swirling mists!

Why would you be sorry? That is the very core of OOC posts, I can tell you'll fit in nicely around here.
Heck, one of my fondest posts is several paragraphs long and is nothing but rambling on a tangent. It was composed entirely of gibberish and win.

Re: Hi!
Wait! I want to jump on the welcome wagon too!
It's great to meet you, Furigana! If you love languages, I'm sure you'll fit in splendidly here at FOG. I would like to echo Descent's advice to check out the Interest Check threads in the Casual, Advanced, and One-on-one forums. We have new RPs popping up all the time, so there's plenty of chances to get involved. Everyone here is really nice, so don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions/concerns. Hope you enjoy your stay!

Re: Hi!
A LANGUAGE BUDDY!!!
I, too, love languages, but not so much real ones as made-up ones. I'm working on a few of those myself. ^^
We seem to have a lot in common, Furigana, from interests to general temperament. Excitability is a way of life. xD

Re: Hi!
Welcome to FoG, Furigana.
Is that Japanese? If it is a word from a legitimate language, what does it mean?
A great deal of people who frequent FoG are those who wish to improve their writing. I'm one of them, but I also like to help others improve. However, I have quit the days of randomly helping people. If you would like my help in the area of grammar or spelling or the like, you'll have to make your inquiries to me on your own time. Of course, as a member of the human race, I am fallible, but I like to think that I have a decent grasp on many of the mechanics of grammar. Commas and punctuation are a part of that understanding.
I hope you enjoy your stay.
