Re: Sound Bytes!
Yes, I do! My only problem now is...well there are two problems. One, I doubt playing the background music from my laptop into my laptop mic will sound good..and two, I need to train for the part of the song originally sung by Luciano Pavarotti, because I am no opera singer!
Edit: Yea that isn't going to work. Even a capella the static was so awful I couldn't be understood.

Re: Sound Bytes!
Well, Weiss had to do the special stuff to make my mic's static go down, and I actually recorded without music and he put it in after. I'm not sure of anyone else who knows how to do that, but mabye someone could do that for you! ^^
Re: Sound Bytes!
I figured out how to put a privacy shade on my webcam so there is only a picture there instead of the video! This weekend, after I've practiced a bit, I'll record Miss Sarajevo twice - once in alto and once in soprano - and you guys can tell me which is better. I would like to sing this at my parents 25th anniversary party if they have one (my dad wants to throw a surprise party for my mom, and have a band playing U2 music all night. After much searching, I've decided there is no better song than Miss Sarajevo!)

Re: Sound Bytes!
If it's easier, you could just record using the webcam and tape something over the webcam lens so it doesn't show you. After all, this thread is about the music. Video is just an optional thing.
To remove static from a recording the way I did for Attie, you'd need to get Audacity and use the Noise Reduction tool, but it requires a bit of fiddling around to get it right. If the filter is too strong, you lose quality from the singing. If it's too weak, you don't get rid of the static.
If you have a sound file of you singing without the background music, though, I could certainly try to filter out the static. If I try to filter it with the background music on the same track, it'll distort the music.
Anyway, like I said before, you're welcome to just post a video of you singing that doesn't actually show any video, if that would be easier. Wouldn't be much different from watching the WMP visualizations while listening to the others, after all.
Edit: Seems you're a step ahead of me.

Re: Sound Bytes!
I just wish I had the song in a Karaoke version so that I could put my voice to the music rather than trying to sing over Bono and Luciano in the background. I may still sing it a capella, but the beginning is very repetitive and rather boring sans music.

Did you try searching YouTube for a karaoke or instrumental recording?
Edit: This what you need?

Re: Sound Bytes!
I actually found that video as well, Hermes, but if you listen through it, the vocals can be rather apparent at times. It's nothing but the song with a filter to drown out the middle channel. My computer actually has the ability to do that using the Realtek audio manager. It's good for casual karaoke, but the random vocals can be a bit of a throw-off.
That is the only karaoke version I found when I was looking, though, so I suppose it's either that or nothing.

Re: Sound Bytes!
Actually, that might work. The only part that sucks is that it uses the video version which has a break between bono's lyrics and Luciano's, where as in the recorded song there is no break. *shrugs* Not a big deal if my face is not on camera.
Silv says I sound better as alto (I'm inclined to agree, though after years of singing soprano it is hard to admit I've lost the talent for it) so I may not be singing Luciano's part soprano. Especially if I can't get the lung capacity to carry L'amore all the way through -_-
Thanks for finding that!

Re: Sound Bytes!
"Kimi no Tameni Dekiru Koto: Slaughtered"
I told Saori I'd do this if she sang something in English. So, here it is. The good news is, none of you can make fun of me for screwing up the lyrics, because you won't understand them anyway. The bad news is, that doesn't cover up the fact that I suck and Gackt's vocal range is reflective of the fact that he's practically androgynous...
Now to re-post the two clips I had posted before:
"Landing in London" w/ musical accompaniment.
"My Stupid Mouth" a cappella.
And now for two new songs. One of these will probably get some teasing, but I learned how to sing some boy band songs years back when I was trying to impress a girl I liked, so I decided I should try one of those. The other was just a whim because I wanted to do something Country and I like Rascal Flatts.
"I Want It That Way" a cappella.
"What's Hurts The Most" a cappella.

[Snickers at "I Want It That Way"]
I cannot believe you did that.. you had to be tired to do so! xD

Re: Sound Bytes!
Very much so. I also hate how my voice sounds higher pitched when recorded. Though, that might also be partially because of the tiredness, since, in retrospect, I did a terrible job with that, Rascal Flatts and Gackt.

Re: Sound Bytes!
My voice sounds lower when recorded. Actually it sounds exactly like my older brother. Exactly. It's much of creepy.
Edit:
Listened to I Want It That way. (It's the only one I know.) Congrats!

I find that it does that to my voice too. I will listen when I get some more free time.

Re: Sound Bytes!
Weiss what sort of mic do you use? It's really, really clear!
EDIT: I know this sucks beyond reason, but I'm doing it just to say I did it. I may end up regretting this later though.

Hey, so I created a Music- Myspace for the Site. And if you want to share the music with me, I can put it on the myspace so that other foggers can listen to it there too.
