A Fishy Troll's Journey Empty A Fishy Troll's Journey

Post by Numarkoth Tue Feb 02, 2010 4:27 pm

Greetings, readers !

To post or not to post: that was the question. You'd know the answer by now : to post.
Clicked on that ''NewTopic'' button, and here I am, trying to find a way to explain how exactly I'm going to say what I want to.

Let's keep it simple.
I've been playing an MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) named World of Warcraft for quite a few years, as of now, and I've only recently been considering ''roleplaying'' the game, and not simply ''playing'' it. For nearly five years I've been a little mathematics-and-formulas freak, in-game, neglecting all the lore and history of the virtual World of Warcraft. I only recently started catching up on all I missed, the details I hadn't noticed (or not cared for), and in all honesty, I am having more fun than ever!

I believe this new thrill I'm feeling at the thought of a fantastic world to explore is doubtless due to the recent gathering of a few friends of mine to replay the old, open universe of Dungeons and Dragons. At the age of eight, I started rolling dice, pretending I was a halfling, delightfully rejoicing in the theft of artifacts of old and the slaying of ancient evils. Seven years later, World of Warcraft came out, and despite my love for the roleplaying genre, I stopped playing Dungeons and Dragons and fell in a troublesome trap : number-crunching.

From then on, and up until now, all I've ever done in games is play to win, be the best and have a mathematically perfect character, with the perfect equipment bestowing her (yes, I do play a female Troll) the best attributes and statistics. This made games nothing more than a race and competition, rather than a truly enjoyable experience.

Well, I'm trying to redeem myself!
The character I'm playing (though my subscription is currently inactive): a Female Troll named Enarka, whose life I'm trying to tell as a story in my first (ever) blog. Despite the rather unusual goal she has in-game (to become an accomplished angler), I will try to make her history as interesting as I possibly can, despite my complete lack of experience.

If you are interested at all, you are welcome to visit Enarka, where her story is told :

Reading the story requires logging in to the site. Not to sound lazy - which I am - but I don't care to sign up for some unknown site when it would be much easier if the story was posted here. So, I just wanted to post and let you know that I am interested in reading your troll's story; however, I would need you to post it here, or at least somewhere that doesn't require membership. Aww
