Hey hey,

Let's get the formalities out of the way first, my name is Peter, I'm 19, I'm from Bulgaria (a small dot on the map of Europe, slightly larger on the Balkan Peninsula map). Believe it or not, I'm still in school, last months of bliss and joy, studying IT and informatics. Apart from computers I'm interested in (surprise!) roleplaying, reading books of all kinds and swimming, which is my favourite sport, to participate in at least, nothing beats watching a good game of football (soccer to you yanks), I'd say.

I've been RP'ing for about three years now. I started out by joining a very good group of RP'ers, back in the Lord of the Rings Online and have been participating in it ever since. Obviously, I started out in the MMO format, but as I'm not playing any online games at the moment (I'm still part of the said group and we are actively RP'ing using Fantasy Grounds, a d20 type program), I've decided to try out something different. I took part in some other play-by-post boards, but was unimpressed with the overall writing quality, thankfully - FOG was recommended to me and I decided to give it a go. So far, I have to say that I'm thrilled!

When roleplaying, I prefer to focus on one character, rarely having two and almost never more than that. Throughout the RP, I like to delve into the spiritual side of things. The character's goals, fears, hopes...their dreams and their nightmares. Their reasoning behind a certain action or condemning of another. When GM'ing I'm a bit of "my way or the highway" guy, but will, of course, listen to the advice of my players. I like to leave RP's pretty open, giving them a structure (plot, lore, etc.), but allowing the participants to shape the world around them. Fantasy - be it high, low, dark, etc holds the most interest for me. I do enjoy sci-fi as well, but that, mostly, depends on the plot.

I strive to create believable characters, with their own faults and merits. The knight in shining armour who kills everyone and everything that opposes him, is not interesting to me. Rather, I prefer the poor man, torn from his comfy home, thrown in the front lines of a war that is not his to fight. Less hero, more human is my motto, in a way.

Well, enough rambling from me. Looking forward to RP'ing with you guys and gals. Smile

A fellow Lord of the Rings Online progeny! Very Happy
I've never played the game, but I got my start in role-playing thanks to Middle-earth Online (which is LOTRO before Turbine took over). We would role-play Middle-earth on forums; it was a blast.

Your style of role-playing sounds awesome, and you seem quite literate. I, for one, am going to love having you around! ^^

Welcome to the FOG, Blackrock! cheers
I'm looking forward to role-playing with you sometime.

In fact, if you're into super-in-depth stuff, I'm hosting an Advanced role-play called Sephiris: The Price of Peace. If it interests you, I'd love to have you aboard! Very Happy

Welcome to FoG, can't wait to see you on the front lines of roleplay! lol. It's always exciting to see enthusiastic and skilled new members joining our ranks.

*sniffle*

Why, I... I remember when... I was the newest member here... I was (I think) member number 15. And now we have 400+.

Anyways, enough quiet and scatter-brained rambling from me. Nice to meet you Blackrock, can't wait to rp with you. Have any questions, shoot them my way Wink

Because, as we all know (except for new guys), I am the shiznit of the internet. *puffs out chest*

Annnd I rambled again. Regardless;

Welcome.
And have fun most importantly.

Very Happy

Thanks for the welcomes!

Also, thanks for the invitation, Kalon - I'll definitely give it a look in the morning. But for now the sacred duty of get-to-bed-because-you-need-to-wake-up-early calls.

Once again, thanks for making this kinky bastard feel at home. Smile

"Welcome to FoG! We got lots of those well read in depth character writer people running around this place." Yes I know that sentence was horrible grammar wise but that is how I would say it if I was speaking. And yes I just quoted myself for no apparent reason. Sometimes it happens. Laughing

Anyway welcome to FoG and I am sure you will enjoy your stay around here.

Welcome to FoG, Blackrock.

I'm certain you'll enjoy yourself in FoG. I've never been a part of an MMORPG, but my humble beginnings were on mIRC and AOL chatrooms. I've been role playing for nine years, but I've only been involved with forum role plays for two or three. I have found that I greatly prefer play-by-post games, personally, but to each her or his own...

Enough of my rambling. I hope you enjoy it here. We have a great deal of people who love to write in-depth characters. I also enjoy writing the mental aspects of the characters I control. It just seems like a lot more fun to delve into the reasons behind their actions and their words. They're far more interesting, in my opinion.

Welcome.
